Great location and nice clean rooms. The check-in process was very slow. I requested two extra pillow and was told I could only have one extra pillow which I thought for the rate was a little crazy. Some of us like to sleep with a lot of pillows. Besides that the hotel's beautiful and the staff was friendly.

Nice room with beautiful views of the city. However, the service needs improvement. We asked for house keeping to come to our room when we left for the day and gave them a 3 hour window to do it. It wasn't done. We asked for more towels, they were never delivered. I was charged for parking in the garage for 2 days even though I moved my car within hours of arriving there and never parked in the garage again. After 2 months and having my bank dispute the charge, it was finally resolved. If you can find a nice room else where, stay there.

My boyfriend and I just stayed two nights at this hotel. The staff are very nice, shout out to the evening valet guy who ran back out to our truck to get my wallet for me! The room was clean and we had plenty of towels and bathroom items. We did ask for extra pillows, which they brought up to our room for us rather quickly. The rooftop bar was a nice place to sit and have a drink and try the delicious truffles from the chocolate place on the lobby floor (closed now). The location is kind of on the border of "nice Portland" and "not so nice Portland," which is the only thing I could fault it for.

Great location, a few walks from the old town where plenty of restaurants and pubs to try. The room is large and super clean, the level that Westin should be. The only thing that there is no free parking there, you need to pay for the valet parking for like above 30 dollars for a day

This is one of the most beautiful hotels I have ever seen. My husbands employer Christmas party was here Nov 2018 and they have such a classy style and decor. I was impressed with the parking garage - it was easy to park and get into the venue without much effort. Also the banquet hall was elegant and roomy. I wish we had been able to stay overnight but we had family that needed care after the event. Highly recommend this hotel!

My mom and dad were staying here for my wedding. Very nice place. Service was lacking. Over two days, mouthwash was never replaced by housekeeping, sheets were half-heartedly straightened (not tucked in), dirty dishes from room-service were left in the room. Overall a very nice place though. Maybe it was an "off" couple of days or perhaps they were short-staffed but for charging luxury prices there could definitely be improvements in service. I had lunch at the restaurant and waited about five or ten minutes by the 'wait to be seated' sign. I was eventually seated with no silverware nor napkin. I understand that it was slow - having worked in the service industry for six years at a luxury hotel, I get it that the wait staff was probably doing side work. But once my food arrived no one came back to see how I was doing. I will clarify that my food came with a spoon (it was tomato bisque with grilled cheese and a side salad - which was all very delicious!) So I did not immediately notice the rest of the missing silverware and napkin until after I had some soup. I just grabbed some from another table. I mentioned this when I was finally presented the check by the bartender (I didn't see my waitress again) just so he would know the table need a place setting. He was nice and thanked me, and I think he apologized too, which is nice. The food was great though. I had some of my mom's lobster slider a different day and that was also delicious. And the prices were reasonable for the type of food. But again, for that kind of establishment the service was lacking. Service was not bad, the staff is nice, just not attentive for a luxury style hotel and restaurant. Except for Amanda who works at the restaurant. Amanda was great.

The hotel is VERY NICE!! Beds are comfortable & the decor is amazing. My only complaint is that there is no microwave!! I travel for work & I typically bring my food so I wasn t able to warm it. By the time I arrived to the hotel, there weren t any options to buy hot food.

Perfect centralized location; excellent customer service from the valley to the front desk. Clean rooms, soft beds, rain shower and a great view. We only stayed for one night, but believe we'll make it back again.

I honestly don't understand the higher rating. I had higher expectations from a Westin but this one felt like a 2 star hotel. From the location, to the room, to housecleaning, to the food - it was a disappointment.

First the location - it's farther away from the main tourists attractions. Hyatt is better located for sure.

The main reason for low rating is the rooms and service. First night the AC made loud noises to a point we couldn't sleep at all. Went to the front desk the next day and it seems the engineer knew about the issue but they still decided to have guests in there! While I was reporting my issues there was another gentleman showing horrible cleaning effort - he showed pictures of some gross stuff in the bathroom.

The bed too wasn't comfortable at all but the first room had extra selection of pillows that were missing in the second room.

Now on to the food. It was raining the first night so we decided to eat at the rooftop bar. Very limited selection (no coffee) and horrible food. You go there for beer, that's it. The service was decent and that's the only good thing I can say about the bar.

Loved my stay there. I was there pre-covid. Very professional staff. Immaculate rooms. Beautifully decorated. Great location. Very pleasant stay. I fell in love with their complimentary toiletry and their linens. You can purchase nearly everything you see in the room in their on-line store. Fabulous!

Lovely hotel in the heart of everything. Staff was wonderful. My only complaint was that our room was late. Other than that, everything was perfect. Rooms were clean and spacious. We walked to everything-the port, the ferry, restaurants, and everything else. My favorite place to stay in Portland.

Well, i was there as a music vendor for a wedding. The hotel didn't turn off the music during the ceremony after we played for the processional of the bridesmaids and bride. The officiant, bride and groom had to speak thru the music that was piping thru the room's speaker. Some employee dropped the ball on that one!

The more you pay the less you get, this saying definitely applies here.
The Good: The best part is the beds and sheets, comfy and soft. Centrally located.

The Bad: staff is 'friendly' yet unhelpful. They don't know how to apologize for mistakes or miscommunication. Asked someone at the restaurant to order a grilled cheese sandwich to go and was told to order from our room, so we could be charged another 20% to the cooked bread and cheese. Then when we ordered from our room and mentioned the special on the board outside the restaurant and was told it wasn't a special. The fact that valet has taken over all the parking I front of the hotel is ridiculous. Morning of checkout we asked desk staff to have our bill split up for checkout and come checkout it wasn't done.

For the cost the staff could be a bit more accommodating.

I seriously can t believe how awful. Family vacation was ruined due to them losing our vehicle keys and our vehicle. They had no clue where they parked it and totally lost the keys. The car was In a lot they rarely use. They didn t find our keys until we were home. We traveled with 10 month old twins and a 3 year old who any parent knows trying to keep that many children stress free in such a stressful situation is not going to happen. Our car seats and strollers were in the vehicle.... Totally ruined our family vacation, the entire trip was tarnished over this horrible experience. Never again.

Great Location. Close to many area restaurants and shops. Staff is friendly and attentive. Make sure to have the valet give you a card with their direct number for fastest service. Our suite had a fantastic fall view of Portland.

The hotel staff here was very helpful and friendly! The hotel is beautiful and located about a 10-15 walk from old town, and is near lots of shops and restaurants. It's also about a 10 drive from the airport.

The room and location were great and the nightly rate was super affordable. Would definitely stay here again if I was in Portland. Only con was that I'd say that the restaurant in the hotel wasn't very good and quite expensive

Lovely hotel, helpful staff and great location to city centre, harbourfront and entertainment. Not as attentive with room/linen service, but otherwise all the usual amenities were available.

The westin is a great hotel! Good location with lots of fun local places nearby. Rooms were spacious, beds were very very comfortable. Service was fine but took a while to get a cot up to our room. Most frustrating thing was the extra cost to use wifi. I would think at a hotel of this caliber it would be included. Overall it was a great stay.

My family and I had such a great stay at the Westin in downtown Portland, ME for our Maine vacation. Portland is such a great and beautiful city and the experience was enhanced having this great place as our headquarters. The staff were very friendly and accomodating to us, and one night I needed milk for my 2 year old (I ran out!) and the front desk lady got some for me which I thought was so nice! We loved, it, the inside is very modern and clean and sleak, i love it. The rooms were great, beds amazing and tons of pillows! :) We will come back here no questins asked. Thank you!

For a hotel that s suppose to be 4 stars (at least according to Expedia) there was nothing 4 stars about this. We got here at 7:15 pm, check in is suppose to be at 3. We were told our room was not ready! Then they tried to offer a voucher but we had to be somewhere by 8. Later on asked if we could downgrade to a different room but they didn t want to refund the difference! Unbelievable... other people checking in were having the same issue. Why are you guys overbooking rooms that you don t have?!?

The rooms are outdated for what you pay for. The walls are thin so you can hear surrounding rooms conversation and people going through the hallway. Also can hear people outside even though the windows were shut.

It gets worst. Checked out the next morning. The front desk told us we can use the room key to get out of their parking garage or to flag the booth person down. The room key did not work! Had to recall the front desk, there was no one at the booth. Had to wait over 15 minutes to leave. Oh yeah it s 26$ to park! This was one of my worst hotel experience....

We loved our stay. Beautiful hotel and room. Very comfortable bed and the fold out couch. Ate at their restaurant for breakfast and dinner, everything was delicious. Even hung out in the upstairs lounge, that was great, too.
