The beds were a little uncomfortable but other wise it was ok
One of the more affordable hotels in downtown Portland. I usually stay here. The walls are a bit thin, the building is older and shows its age if you scrutinize, and the adjacent parking garage is pretty sketchy. However everything is clean, the hotel staff are very friendly, the rooms are comfortable and updated, you're walking distance to great places downtown, and you will be treated well.
Loved the hotel - great views of the harbor and an excellent rooftop bar.
Beautiful property practically in downtown. Close walk to lots. We'll kept and in great shape. Desk staff went above and beyond to make it a great stay. The "10" (i.e. 710,810) rooms are the best! Corner with lots of windows and space! Thanks for having recycling bins available too!
I love staying here. The staff are friendly, professional, knowledgeable of the neighborhood. The Top of the East lounge boasts the best view of downtown Portland.
Cool place. Clean. Reasonable prices. Staff is super polite and helpful
Rooms are spacious, reception homey, cordial and informative.. close to sites and eateries.
My husband and I went here over this past summer and we had a GREAT experience. Not only was the hotel clean and really comfortable, the staff was super accommodating as well. We had to bring our small dog with us and the first night she was very nervous and barking at every noise she heard. They ended up called us while we were out to dinner and kindly asked if we could return to attend to her. So we made our way back to the hotel and one of the employees, Audie Murphy, was the SWEETEST! He offered to take her out and about for a bit whenever we wanted to leave and/if she was having a hard time. We felt incredibly grateful to be in a place that wasn't going to scold us for having a nervous dog but instead having a great employee again, Audie Murphy, present us with an extremely kind solution. I recommend this place to anyone and their small furry friend. The location is prime too! All is in walking distance!
PS: Our dog was fine the next night! :)
Great place for our in and out weekend for sister's wedding, 34 a night for parking with valet but self park not much less. Enjoy it!
Great location, nice rooftop lounge and great staff. Some down sides to the hotel: they recently closed down the pool, the breakfast a la carte menu is somewhat limited, and parking is in a separate building and quite pricey. Nonethless, still a great hotel and stay!
Good location, nice ballroom and conference area, helpful desk staff and great valet staff in front. Penthouse bar is also great. Did not stay here but was very pleased as a conference attendee during the day.
Very nice..very xpensv..and have to pay parking for hotel
Clean and comfortable. Stayed here one night for a concert
Attended a wine show with my employer. But I did not stay overnight. From my experience the facility was clean, smelled fabulous and the staff was excellent!
The location for this Westin is fantastic if you want to stay close to everything. The hotel staff was great. They were very professional and friendly during every interaction we had with them. The Top of the East lounge on the top floor is amazing. I would definitely recommend going up there. The view, the drinks and even the staff made this a worthwhile visit. As for the rooms, I can only speak of ours. The cleanliness of the room left us a little disappointed. I would think that this wasn't the rule but the exception since the rest of the resort was so well maintained.
Was on there for a quick overnight but it was very comfortable
Love the top deck! Amazing views if you are in town.
The staff there was amazing. The room itself was nice clean and comfortable. Their breakfast was great as well. We enjoyed our time there.
Nice hotel but it does not have a harbor view, it's a half a mile from the old port section of Portland which is closest to the harbor/ocean.
Rooms were clean and staff was great we really enjoyed our stay
The rooms were nice but the cleaning really basic. They didn't change the sheets once during our week's stay. Also the bathroom's floor was full of hair, the surfaces never cleaned during our stay and we never got clean glasses again.
Beautiful hotel post-renovation, conveniently located in Portland with very friendly staff.
I Attended a buisness social here. The hotel was nice, both the catering service and food were excellent.
Not the most central location. The wait was long for check in. Sucks that you have to pay ~$25 daily for parking
Room is spacious and well kept. City view but not bad. Skip the restaurant.
Rooms and location were good. The only negative for us was that there were quite a few steps and small elevators which weren't fun with stroller and luggage, but valet workers were helpful.
Spent a night here, the price for the room was extremely fair but the bottled water downstairs was 5, maybe 6 bucks? I just remembered being shocked because it was just fancy water.
Enjoyed my stay here, I'm very no frills when traveling. Though wish I had brought my dog, hotel is friendly in that regard. Location and staff!! are worth the price.
15th floor. Top of the east. Great views and a comfy environment. Drinks are little overpriced than what I'm used to. And service is a little slow. But the view is worth it.
The hotel itself and rooms were nice and modern which is expected given the Westin brand and price per night. Staff were all friendly and helpful from valet to front desk and housekeeping. The hotel itself is in a nice area with plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance, including the Portland Museum of Art (which has free admission Friday 4-8pm). Walking to the harbor front was a little less than a mile from the Westin, but again through neat neighborhoods with lots of shops. The only complaint would be that parking was fairly expensive, $26/34 for self park/valet. But hey, I guess that's what you get for a hotel in the city.
Pros- price
glass sliding doors shower. With rain fall shower head.
Staff is super friendly. Some of the best I've ever seen. The night time shuttle guy really good.
Free parking garage
In the old port
Con - no fan to turn on when you take a stinkey poop.
Morning Suttle dude didn't open the door to get in or out and didn't get us the step to get in the shuttle that was like 2 ft off the ground
WiFi is NOT free
Coffee came with the room but not tea
Bed lights didn't turn on
The only usb charger was in the tv.
It was very nice and convenient to downtown Portland.
Large rooms in a remodelled historic property. Fair service. Nice view from the rooftop bar.
The accommodations were nice and the staff helpful. The major problem was that our room had a extremely little sound insulation from the hallway, which was very distracting.
Slow service, overpriced food, drinks and not validating parking. We won't be back.
Hotel and staff are great-would highly recommend it!
Beautiful hotel very ritzy stayed there overnight for a concert... I was disappointed I wasn't told about hotel parking in advance and no continental breakfast but room service breakfast was offered
Very nice hotel in a great location with plenty of food options, super fast Wi-Fi (+50Mbps up and down), in-room fridge, very firm beds, and for the very savvy, HDMI accessible TVs.
Friendly staff and the bar upstairs has amazing views.
The room was spotless and very modern. The bar had s very down to earth server that made good conversation throughout our meal along with great drink recommendations. Would absolutely stay again!
Great hotel and situated perfectly near the water and shopping
The hotel is great, beautiful, and in a good location. It's not down by the harbor, but is a short walk from the harbor and all the shops (10min). We came for the weekend and enjoyed great breakfast at C2, the Westin workout, and we had a lot of fun. All the staff were friendly and helpful!
This hotel is in a great location. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I'll will give a special shout out to the valet staff. They did a great job and accommodating of my changing needs and plans. Overall this is comfortable. There is a bar on the top floor that is nice; but if tweaked a bit could be the SPOT to be at even if you aren't staying at the property.
Nice size room. Bed was comfy. Heating unit rattled. Bathroom had no place to put things and a ton of empty unused space. And not because it was a wheelchair accessible room...It was just a weird inefficient use of space and it wicked bugged me!! I ended up moving a small table from the room into the giant empty useless space so I could have someplace to keep clothes off the floor and my pretty modest amount of toiletries.
I had a great stay. Supplied all the amenities Ive come to expect from Westins and very friendly staff.
I stayed here years and years ago when it was the Eastland and they've done a great job modernizing the property while still maintaining that older elegant feel that Ive come to expect. Take a look around the lobby and your room and you'll see what I mean, especially if you've stayed at other Westins. Great experience all around
I travel a ton for work and can honestly say this is one of the best stays I ve had. The staff is SO incredibly professional and accommodating. Everything was very clean, the on-site food was fantastic, any amenity I could think of was available or provided to me. Will absolutely stay here again if I m ever in the area - and would hands down recommend to anyone else thinking about staying here. Thank you Westin Portland for your incredible staff and services!!! Also, on a side note: the staff that you use for the conference food/catering is truly top notch. Their friendly and kind demeanor, not to mention helpfulness, made those early mornings and late afternoons more than bearable. Amazing job on everything!
Close to theaters, bars, and a short walk from the waterfront. Beautiful place.
Location is great for a night out in the city. The place is spotless the staff are so welcoming but what tops it all is when they say dog friendly they mean it!!! No extra hidden charge they even brought up a dog bed bowls and treats. We have never been to such a welcoming place and we will definitely be back many times!!! ThNk you
It's a nice hotel in a good location. The staff is very helpful and friendly. They have a small store in the lobby with medicines, snacks, etc which was useful since CVS closed at 9pm. I took off one star because a couple minor areas of the room were not as clean as I'd like (a side table & TV stand, and bottom edge of shower stall had scum). However, not enough to warrant an unpleasant stay overall.
Breakfast wasn't great and was very expensive, rooms were nicr
The rooms were clean, and well equipped. There's no pool here, so that was a bummer. The elevator requires you to have your room key on you to access your floor, which the front desk neglected to mention, so I ran into a few confused people just standing in the elevator wondering why it's not working. The restaurant on premises is good, with great options and good service. Prices were reasonable for a hotel as well.
The parking situation is a bit strange as well. They have a parking garage next door that they include with the room, or a valet service. I rode a motorcycle in, and the sensors in the garage didn't pick it up, so I was constantly driving around the partition. Not an issue for everyone, but I really didn't feel comfortable doing this all week.
Stayed at Westin in Portland Maine for a conference. Was charged on my credit card for a meal that was not mine. Called hotel and was told charge would be dismissed. Was not. Have disputed charges on credit charge. Received copy of receipt, signature was not mine nor was room number. Had credit card company continue dispute. Still no resolution. Sloppy service. Not much money, but these things shouldn t happen. It s been two months. Very disappointed.
Have stayed there multiple times. Central location. Clean, up to date facilities. Good service. Some of the best breakfast I've had in a hotel. We will be back.
Nice rooms, clean, updated. When my husband and I first arrived we were placed in a double bed room and went back to the front desk to request a single bed room. Not only did they accommodate our request, but the next day I realized I lost my sunglasses and had left them in the original room, I told the front desk and they had them for me! A+ for trust!!!!
I purchased the ocean view but I only got the street view.
Hey are a five star but I give them four because there one of the oldest in portland
The rooms are spacious and beautiful and the rooftop is a marvel of Portland. If you wanted to walk to the old Port for drinks, it only takes a few minutes. The hotel is comfortable enough, I could understand if you wouldn't want to leave though.
Our room was very nice and comfortable. I enjoyed the amenities. My only complaint would be that the mini fridge didn't get very cold. Otherwise, we loved our stay. Staff was friendly and helpful and we will likely return.
Beautiful view of the city sipping any one of many interesting cocktails
Perfect location..clean an beautiful hotel..breakfast was outstanding..an the 15 the floor omg wish I new that was there years ago..all glass every seat has a great view of the the harbor
Everything was great from reception to checkout! I'm fairly new to SPG yet treated like upper tier. Our room was upgraded to a top floor king suite, gorgeous view. I can't say enough about the staff, they could not have been more attentive. I'm looking forward to a return trip!
Gorgeous views from the rooms and the Top of the East is a great bar.
One of my favourite hotels. Lovely rooms. Great facilities. Amazing views.
Nice room, and the view from the bar on the top floor was awesome.
Beautiful view. Just disappointed in front desk staff. Messed up big time. We were overcharged! Shuttle service excellent and very convenient. We also had poor air conditioning in our room and one day our room wasn't cleaned! Disappointed for the cost and being a five star hotel. We stayed five days.
We had our staff appreciation party at The Westin and it was fantastic! Excellent food and staff. We had food stations and rotating appetizers. The room decor was lovely and the restrooms are very clean. Parking can be expensive but it is very close to the hotel. I hope we have more parties there!
The only reason I doing lower in the review my partner and I have stayed twice in the past two years this year we trying to get late check out my partner is on the program for business travers they would not let us do a late check at 4 pm . If you part the program you try to honor it not just one hour late check . This is nice place to stay and great rooms . But be aware of how you check out .. Updated 8/19/2017 . The room in this was nice we had city view the bath room shower while they could do more keep cleaner . Let just say . It was bit dirty .
