If I could give 0 stars I would. I've been waiting since September of 2016 to get my union dues back from the union that was taken out of my check because they couldn't represent me. It's April 2017 still getting the run around about my money. The BBB and labor department will be contacted.

Today the new Detention Aide and Clerks class was suppose to have a visit from a union rep but no one showed up for the Detention Aides, this is sad. Can someone from the Union explain what is going on, why are our members constantly being told someone is coming and then no one shows up.

I was just looking on your web site and noticed that everyone has a contract but the SECA's that work within the Chicago public School system. I really think that you got the nerve to tell me whom to vote for and then you havent done anything toward getting a contract for us that are underpaid. I bet you are getting your raises and everything you need. You tell me to come to your meetings and they are far from reach. Get Serious. We hear nothing about what is going on with our contract and you got the nerve to tell about who is paying dues and whom to vote for. Something else corrupt in Chicago.

SEIU local 73 is not doing anything for the seasonal Chicago Park District workers. We pay our money into this union for them to overlook us and act as if we don't exist until its time for us to sign the authorization form for them to withdraw funds from our check. We are the metal rods and foundation of the Chicago Park District.Every summer we do all the work and we go without notice and recognition. We need to drop seiu local 73 and get a union only for the seasonals because SEIU Local 73 does not negotiate with the seasonals They dont hear us out they dont care to know our concerns and when it comes to negotiating contracts we are not included we don''t get retro checks and our benefits get cut more and more with every contract and then they taking about a 4% raise next year like thats something. Well Seiu local 73 we want all our money back from you all to invest in a union of our own. Give all the seasonal park district employees therer money back

About SEIU

We are the Service Employees International Union (SEIU), a union of about 2 million diverse members in healthcare, the public sector and property services who believe in and fight for our Vision for a Just Society: where all workers are valued and all people respected—no matter where we come from or what color we are; where all families and communities can thrive; and where we leave a better and more equitable world for generations to come.

SEIU: A Union Fighting for a Just Society

SEIU, or the Service Employees International Union, is a union that represents around 2 million members in various industries such as healthcare, public sector and property services. The union was founded in 1921 and has since then been fighting for workers' rights and social justice.

The SEIU believes in their Vision for a Just Society where all workers are valued and respected regardless of their background or ethnicity. They strive to create an environment where families and communities can thrive while leaving behind a better world for future generations.

One of the main goals of SEIU is to improve working conditions for its members. They believe that every worker deserves fair wages, benefits, job security, and safe working conditions. The union also advocates for policies that benefit all workers such as paid sick leave, affordable healthcare, retirement security among others.

SEIU's membership is diverse with people from different backgrounds coming together to fight for social justice. The union believes that diversity is strength and it helps them achieve their goals more effectively.

In addition to advocating for workers' rights, SEIU also engages in political activism by endorsing candidates who support their vision of a just society. They have been instrumental in passing laws such as minimum wage increases across several states which have benefited millions of low-wage workers.

The SEIU has also been at the forefront of fighting against discrimination based on race or gender identity. They believe that everyone should be treated equally regardless of their gender identity or race.

In conclusion, the Service Employees International Union (SEIU) is an organization dedicated to improving working conditions while advocating for social justice issues affecting its members. With over 2 million members from diverse backgrounds coming together under one umbrella organization they are able to make significant strides towards creating a more equitable society where everyone can thrive irrespective of their background or ethnicity.
