The room was great. However the service I requested when I booked the room was not provided on time. I had booked the indulge package which includes champagne and strawberries and bed in breakfast in the morning. When we checked into the hotel I was told the champagne and strawberries would be in room or up shortly after. After about 30 minutes I had to call down to have it brought up. The next morning I found a charge for the service on my bill which they later removed. Other than perhaps a miscommunication somewhere the stay was great.

Rooms are fine and service was generally good. Lots of little things like the room temp (75 and never went down), the basket in the shower that everything fell through, no shower cap etc made it a little annoying.

Staff went above and beyond to make our 1 night anniversary stay something we will remember for years to come. From before check-in with a courtesy text to getting room ready early and helping us celebrate our anniversary with a nice surprise in the room once we got back from dinner.

Beautiful view from the lounge on the top floor. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful with directions and recommendations on where I could go for a run. The only reason I didn't give a five star was that the bed and pillow was a little too soft. Add a medium firmness pillow to the bed and I would give five stars.

Loved the downtown location for this Westin - very walkable to numerous attractions, shopping, restaurants and, of course, Casco Bay. The entrance is on a busy one-way street - better to plan to use the valet parking...so easy. My room was comfortable with great a/c on a hot summer week in Maine. The bar upstairs, "Top of the East" is fantastic... probably needs more food options on the bar menu, but one of the employees told me they only have a very small kitchen. Loved the bed linens and towels...plus two Showtime channels on TV. The only miss was how late housekeeping came by...I prefer to have the room cleaned by lunch or 1 p.m. so as not to interrupt an afternoon nap on a hot day!

The Westin is in a great location right next to the Congress ave shops and a park with live music most nights! The lobby and common areas are well kept and feature several nice art pieces. The rooms are great with comfortable towels and bedding, a nice bathroom and decently large TV's. One downside is that the windows don't open but otherwise a great experience!

Stopped here last night, one of the most beautiful entry ways, friendliest staff that showed they really cared about not only the tenants or the money, but also about this amazing city and keeping its citizens safe. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. -SD

This hotel has so much potential but misses the mark. The valet staff and bellmen are the shining stars but the rest of the hotel staff ruins your first impressions. The room we had needed deep cleaned, the bartenders lacked any personality, and the overall sense of urgency to guests needs was non existent. I will not be staying here again.

The location is central but the downside is $26 a night for parking. The TV didn't work because the power supply cable was not firmly plugged in, which suggests it is not tested when housekeeping cleans the room. There were only two disposable coffee cups so we had to ask for more for the morning. There was only one tea bag. The room was clean and well equipped. All the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. The bed wasn't well made but we think that was because the bottom sheet wasn't exactly the right size.

Excellent hotel! Perfect location! My colleagues and I visited this hotel for a one night business trip. This is an older, historic, downtown hotel which has been totally renovated interior. The lobby and common areas are updated and pleasant. The guest rooms are modern, large, clean and comfortable. The location in mid town Portland is perfect, especially if you don't have transportation. There are many restaurants, pubs, tap rooms, and unique shopping near this hotel. Although I didn't have a chance to visit, the Portland Muesum of Art was visable from my guest room. The hotel offers an airport shuttle, another really nice and convenient ammenity. The hotel staff is polite and professional. My only complaint was the unwelcome conversation and comments provided by Marty, Hotel shuttle driver, who picked us up when we arrived. My colleagues and I would have preferred not to be subjected to the ethnic and politically inappropriate comments. It's disheartening and sad when people feel compelled to share inappropriate and, in my opinion, offensive commentary, especially in a customer service environment. However, after arriving at the hotel, it was clear our politically charged shuttle ride was an isolated event, and not a reflection of this beautiful and comfortable hotel! Absolutely, I highly recommend this hotel!!

Huge updates since the last time I was in over the last couple of years!

My company also has recently utilized their conference rooms for seminars and I have been very impressed!

They offer valet parking (priced reasonably). Very friendly every where in the facility.

At the very least you MUST go to the Top of the East for a skyline view of this historic city and of Portland Harbor.
