I just stayed in this hotel. And in my opinion is totally not worth the money. The entree is beautiful and the rooms are allright but the staff is not friendly and helpfull at all. I just run the New York city marathon and after that I wanted to take a bath, but the water that came out was brown. So I was telling this to a staff member at the reception. He was not apologizing at all, and told me that he needs to make up a report of this, to be able to fix the problem. To make up this report it will take 30 minutes of my time in New York. And I had only two hours left, it crazy that nobody was able to apologize for this. And just fix the problem for the next guest that are coming in. The guy at the reception was telling me that when I was not able to spent the time to make up a report with him, he couldn't do nothing about it. 'So it was my choice'. I think that's not the way you wanted to be treated, when you spend such a amount of money to stay in a hotel like this, and can't take a normal shower or bath.

The service and standards at the Waldorf has gone downhill tremendously, I cannot believe how racist the attendant at Sir Harry's was when I went there. He then had the audacity to refuse to serve us when we called him out for purposefully ignoring us. It was embarrassing and such a mockery to a client should never be made in a upscale bar let alone any establishment. This hotel has sincerely dropped it's standards since my last visit.

In 1931, the hotel - at that time with more than 1400 rooms - opened the largest, highest and most expensive hotel in the world. Now, for the time being, it's time to check out.
In 2014, the hotel chain Hilton had sold its showpiece for $ 1.95 billion (1.84 billion euros) to the Chinese insurer Anbang Insurance. He has announced a major renovation.
It may take up to three years, and then it should be almost nothing, as it once was: Many of the more than a thousand rooms, which were to be had in the cheapest price range from about $ 200 per night, to be converted into luxury apartments become. In the future, the ground floor will primarily accommodate trendy boutiques.

A VERY UNSATISIFACTORY stay at the Waldorf Astoria December 2015. After multiple previous stays at the Waldorf I booked 3 rooms in April of 2015 for a Christmas in NYC weekend with family & Friends I requested one adjoining room to the suite and the 3rd room in close proximity. I called the hotel multiple times in the weeks and days to confirm my requests.
Upon arrival to the WALDORF I was told by a condescending Manager Kevin Driscoll) that it would not be possible to have adjoining rooms. This man went so far as to tell me that if this would not work for me that I should go somewhere else . With four kids, family and a planned weekend with friends and other families that was just not possible. I was given a dirty run down Suite (Room 12H) with my 2 other rooms at the other end of the hotel. This was clearly NOT acceptable with four SMALL CHILDREN. After wasting over an hour at reception I was promised that all my room would be comped and the service charges would be taken care. We ended up not using one of the rooms and the children shared our suite. I was incredibly disappointed in my stay particularly because my family had requested that we stay at the NY PALACE HOTEL. I assured them that the Waldorf was better. I couldn t have been more wrong!!!
When we went to check there was nothing but disorganization at the front desk yet again. The manager made many alterations to the bill and assured me that he would reconcile the bill.
When I received my Amex bill this month there were no credits applied and in fact charges above and beyond the agreed upon rate. I am very concerned that I was scammed. I tried to work it out with the hotel directly but they failed
I am astonished that the Waldorf has declined in such a way. Many of my colleagues and friends had told me that they felt the same way. It is sad to see an hotel with such a storied history and reputation treat their patrons the way that we were treated.

We have stayed at the Waldorf a few times and have loved it every time! The first time we went to Oscar's for the classic Waldorf salad, of course, and loved the dining room and meal. It was always such a special experience at the beginning of our vacation and we will surely miss being able to stay there now.

Living here you felt like a prince or a princess:) so worth it, though super expensive! It usually charges above 500 dollars per night here but if you bid on priceline you may get it cheaper. One friend of mine use priceline and spent $220 to live here.

Ractist bartender, I walked in to the bar with a friend after spending so much money eating at the Resturant downstairs only for the bartender to refuse serving me and security to ask me to leave for no reason other than my skin color , I was embarrassed , never had that happen to me before ..he couldn't even give me a reason for his action . Hateful white man

I have never reviewed anything before. I checked in on 12/26, leaving my pickup truck with the valet. I checked out on 12/29 and discovered that the rack on my pickup was damaged. I took two pictures and called the Waldorf I was transferred around and finally reached the supervisor for the valet. She asked me to send her the pics, which I did. She said she would call me the next day (12/30). I have not heard from the valet. I emailed the Waldorf directly and have not heard from them either.
I am sure there is video of the truck arriving and departing which will show that the damage occurred while in the possession of the valet.
We stayed for three nights in room 923 Park Ave Towers. We ordered a cot for one night. It was not removed until we called twice. Our room was not cleaned on Saturday. The chamber maid must have come in because the used towels were replaced but the bed was not made and the room was not cleaned. There was a dirty yellow rubber glove on the vanity next to my toothbrush.(I have a picture of the glove) Even after we called Saturday evening they did not clean it until Sunday
The lack of a response to the valet issue has prompted me to post this. I hope to get this resolved.
Calls from our room and our cell phones will prove these issues

Regretfully, please accept this as our complaint of the room provided at the Waldorf Astoria last Saturday night. We were prepared for a great time and experience. However, my wife and I had the worst lodging experience of our lives. The room was dirty with many broken fixtures (Wall covers, panels, electrical plugs, etc.). Service was horrible (turn down service). I would have requested to speak to a manager, but I was not up to the trouble.
Being from the West Coast, I had always wanted to stay at the Waldorf based on referrals and several movies. I believe the Waldorf is living in the past and on its name and could not even complete with any Motel 6.

The room was amazing. So clean with a breathtaking view. The housekeeping team was incredible. Really enjoyed my stay. Will be recommending to others. This place is 5-star and it deserves every positive review. It's pricey, but it's worth it for a special weekend. My fiance and I stayed here on our engagement weekend and it was perfect. The staff is so friendly, the bar downstairs typically has a live pianist and the Sunday brunch is honestly like nothing I've ever seen!

The staff and service were excellent. They went above and beyond to make us and our four legged family member feel welcome and well taken care of. The location couldn't be better and the room was perfect. It's an older hotel and there's some visible wear and tear, but they're working on a big renovation and the price was very reasonable. I still love all the old intricate art deco styling.
The only negative I really have is the Peacock Alley restaurant. We had a couple of disappointing salads with very overcooked salmon and mimosas. We didn't complain or send anything back, but we felt it was a poor value.
I would absolutely stay at the Waldorf again, but eat elsewhere.

Two weeks after its closure by remodeling, we stayed there almost a week and admire in each of its corners and rooms, the golden years 50. His large clock at the reception is a work of art and cabinetmaking. Its spectacular event rooms, its restaurant with exquisite and careful attention, personalized attention from other times. A true place that houses thousands of memories and portraits of personalities that were in those times gone.

This hotel is old and the rooms smell bad and are very outdated. They have all these poftures of famous people that stayed here and thats basically the lastbtime thia place was renovated; it may habe been a nice place like 50 years ago but now its justba funky old place. Nobody at the front seems to know what they are doing and they are short staffed. On a positive note it's in a great location and the bars and restaurants in here are lively and good.

Came here over the weeked while we were going to a wedding in the city. While everyone we interacted with was very nice, the overall experience was horrible. When we got to the room the floor clearly haven't been vacuumed in a while; in addition to being dirty there was a zipper, some change, and a vape pen on the floor. We asked if housekeeping could come up and clean while we were at dinner, but despite saying it would be no problem this never happened in the two days we were there. Later we discovered Some of the bottles of the toileties in the bathroom had broken seals and the next day there was a large bug on my suitcase. We were charged over $100 for the free drinks we had tickets for at Sir Harry's, one of which had a giant bug floating in it! I called about the incorrect bill and am waiting for an email confirmation that it will be changed. The whole time we were there we were constantly checking to see if things were clean enough to use and insect-free. The groom's parents also stayed here and had a yapping dog in the next room and had to change rooms at 4:00am the second night because water was leaking from the ceiling. We were never able to relax because of the conditions and are glad to finally be on our way home.

Amazing hotel in the heart of New York. Iconic is the only word to sum it up.
The lobby and reception areas are outstanding in their Art Deco splendour. Unfortunately some of the corridors and rooms could do with a little TLC to restore their former glory, but what an unforgettable place to stay!
