Easy walk surrounded by Eucalyptus Tree Groves. All paths are paved or gravel (asphalt, cement or compact gravel). There's a picnic area with tables, bathrooms and grill. Sweet little walk along the lake. Two very large and open areas for dogs with water fountains for people
/dogs as well.

I was so depressed the day that Bay Meadows was sold off piece by piece to make way for more ugly apartment buildings, Starbucks and Whole Foods Stores. Horse racing is a dying sport and I intend on doing everything in my power to try and save it. I attend the harness races every year during the Sacramento California State Fair...I've been to Churchill Downs twice (but never to the real derby) and Del Mar a handful of times. Oddly enough, my love for the ponies had never taken me to Golden Gate Fields in Berkeley.

Great concert series right here in the midst of the SF fog. The grove itself is worth the trip, add music and it becomes a must-do on anybody's list. The volunteer army deserves an honorable mention, they make this concert series possible. Of course every now and then hiccups happen but overall a well deserved positive feedback.

This is a great park that holds concerts each summer. This year I went to see Sergio Mendes and it was a lot of fun! And the best part is that it's free, with donations accepted. You can also bring your own drink and food. It's best to get there early because the place fills up by 11am, maybe even earlier depending on the performer. You can hear the music everywhere, but if don't want to be sitting on an incline or on a log, then get there early.

Because the park is in the middle of the Sunset, it's pretty quiet, away from all the city noise. It's a nice place to relax or go for a jog.

Stern Grove is a great place for families to enjoy nature and concerts and quiet time. My only issue is that the rules aren't being enforced. Today someone was walking across the concert seating area from me and my dogs and he let his dog of the leash (where that is prohibited) and his dog attacked mine. He was nowhere in sight and I couldn't help my own dogs because it seemed dangerous. Please keep your dogs on leash, and stay nearby to keep everyone safe and feeling protected at this park

If you re looking for an outdoors experience this is definitely it. Get there early at least 11am to secure a decent spot for the concerts - unless you don t mind slipping and sliding in the hills. Not too cold but a jacket is definitely needed. Somewhat of a steep downhill walk going into the park and then not so friendly coming back up!

I have been going to Stern Grove festivals since before I was 1. The grove is a magical place where the Bay Area community comes together to embrace nature and the arts. The ballet and the San Fransisco Symphony have always been some of my favorite performances. I appreciate that there is a section that allows dogs where you can still here the music, as we don t like to leave our dog at home. At the last concert I attended, there were also very delicious food choices. So Stern Grove scores an A+ in all of the categories!

Beautiful park. The crowd for the Deltron show was horrid. Packed with yuppies that had nothing better to do that day in the pit area while all the hip hop heads were up on the view obstructing hill.

It right along 19th Ave, but when you step inside you are among tall redwood trees and cannot hear any of the passing traffic. It's a beautiful park which also has meadows and free summer concerts.

It is a park with very large trees, it is preserved in a very special way, every year in summer a free festival is held where world-class artists are presented, without a doubt it is a very special experience to see your artists surrounded by these pines and redwoods Huge, consider it if you go to Frisco

Beautiful park. Please keep all dogs on leash as there has been several incidents with wild coyotes...rare, but it has happened, especially with little dogs. Really special place, and has a great stage where they have great music bands that play here during the summer for free. Many are well known.
