The Stern Grove Festival Review

Went for a wedding. Kind of a secret little spot. Very secludes little grove. There are free music concerts in the summer.

Thus today we had a journey thru Sigmund Stern Recreation Grove and it was awesome, weather was amazing and the company was outstanding, what a wonderful day.

Mostly paved paths. Large lawns for free running dogs. Excellent park running on asphalt paths.

This concert series is the BEST. Very well organized, beautiful setting, and an iconic San Francisco FREE experience. I'm so happy its still going on.

I love this little amphitheater during the summer! They have free concerts every Sunday and other events throughout the year. There is a really nice dog park nearby as well as some playground equipment. Parking can be a bit tough and the entrance is slightly awkward to drive through but it is worth your while to go check out this cozy little Park on the south side of San Francisco!

Had a great time here. Went for Anoushka Shankar concert. Very well arranged. Nice open air sitting.
Would recommend to go about an hour before to get a nice place to sit. Do bring light jacket and sitting mats. Its mostly cloudy here. There are few food trucks out side. Nice place to spend sundays with friends and family.

Lovely forest walk in the middle of the city. Smells devine.

My wife and I took our granddaughter and dog to stem groove and we were able to let her be pushed around in her tricycle red flyer. The dog had fun if course. It was a blast!

Amazing venue and concert series. I highly recommend supporting this festival.

One of the best of SF's many beautiful parks. A forest of eucalyptus and nasturtium, a duck-filled lake, and a huge dog play area.

The park is absolutely beautiful. The people are friendly and the concerts are so much fun. I really enjoy Stern Grove.

I find most owners/dog walkers don't pick up after their dogs. it's a social gathering for dog walkers that are too busy socializing with each other and letting the dogs poop everywhere and they haven't got a clue! Too many dog walkers! San Francisco has more dogs than kids, did you know that!?

What a great Sunday, everybody should go to one of these free concerts on a Sunday

We had fun, but get there early or you will never get a seat.

A beautiful park with not too many people. When driving by, you don't think it'd be so great, but really, it's amazing. Don't pass it up when going on 19th. In the summer, make sure you and your friends get there EARLY for free concerts or you'll be behind a tree and you won't be able to see squat.

Stern Grove festival is always fun! Shows starts at 2 but is recommended to get there by 11am to get a good spot.

I attend every year. I've seen some favorite bands here for free! It's a beautiful place. Make a day of it! Come early, bring food & drink & friends.... Enjoy the music!!!!!!

The Seniors and Disability section is reduced 50% however the view to the stage improved slightly.

Its a beautiful place to visit whether an event is happening or you happen to just stroll by. Beautiful outdoors, tables to sit, or the grass to lay on. Almost makes you feel as though you're not in the city!!

A great natural concert venue situated in a forrested ravine. Plus; free concerts all summer!? A really nice place

It felt like I was in the middle of a tropical rainforest. Considering its location, that is really unbelievable.

Good music.. Good place.....you may bring your own food and Drink

Watched the SF Ballet. Well organized volunteers and staff. Good food options and activities for the kids. You need to come early for a good seat, but this also allow you to watch the symphony rehearse, which is a treat.

The Isley Brothers Are Performing Today. An Old School Music Group. 'FIGHT THE POWER'....

Attended the Psychedelic Furs show and the Isley Brothers. Great crowd that assist each other in the steeper parts of the grove. Great free event in a beautiful setting. Great way to spend a Sunday.

I'm being going to Stern Grove Park for the 2 years for the Stern Grove festival that happens on the summer. SF Symphony always play there and is a great show 100% free.

This is an unreal place to see a show. We came for a Sitar performance and the sound was like nothing else. We got there a few hours before he opener and still managed to get a great spot off the grass. Bring a picnic and plan to stay all day. No smoking and lots of security, so a little more rule intensive than your typical SF park.

Largest dog park in the area. Great views on both land side and ocean side. Scary cliffs for hiking with dogs, so have to be careful.

Interesting place. We just pulled in because I was intrigued by the entry gate. The bandshell and facilities are nice but I really don't understand the whole place.
The road in is really steep.

Stern Grove sits sort of in a valley. Once you walk down into the venue it opens up, but the hike is steep and treacherous

This Year my Third year as a volunteer for the festival proved to be the hottest yet (weather wise) ( I enjoyed two festival Sunday dates volunteering with the FANS were huge and the music plentiful. This Year the Festival is kicking it Live at the end with The BIG PICNIC featuring the sounds of The Isley Brother's a soulful Funky 60's and seventies band. I hope you can make it this Sunday the 18th 2019.

Beautiful park setting to catch the ballet and listen to symphony music in the trees! Parking was problematic and not recommended for disabled or faint of heart as one has to hike in and out. Arrive early as seating fills up quickly!

DON T USE THE BIKE VALET. My bike and a couple of my friend's bikes were returned to us with a blown tire, twisted handlebars and other small things tweaked. No wonder they make you sign a release form when you drop your bike off!

Excellent park to enjoy an outdoor concert, while doing a picnic, plus a great place to walk with your pet the view of a lake and large trees, even just to go jogging for a while, enjoy of nature, a paradise in the middle of the city

Stern Grove is just a great well maintained park that is very dog friendly.

My field trip was hare. The place was calm and I had lots of fun!

A beautiful place to get lost in and feel like you ve left the city and world behind, even if it s for a few min; If you re having a rough day or week , do yourself a favor and take a few min out of your day and go there and recharge!

Concerts by world renowned artists in the most amazing setting ever. Best of all, it's completely free. Very good initiative!

If not for the eponymous summer festival, this little gem is generally not well known, nor frequented by Sanfranciscans outside of the surrounding neighborhoods. When you walk into it, though, a blanket of orange nasturtium saturates the air with its pungent scent, and the tall eucalyptus trees shield you from the noise of the road traffic, in addition to slowing down the wind, giving a sense of relaxing piece.

A very clean and serene place for the whole family. I haven't like the fact that it was in a very nice neighborhood.

Great place to walk the dog or get married. Or anything in between. (But watch out for coyotes)
