Lovely people, lovely place, and great location for the beach. I'd say it was clean enough to fit even most clean-freak's ideals.

Overall this place is perfect for what it is and the price. Some rooms are a little run down but I hear they are refurbing rooms.
Staff is friendly and helpful. Pool is great. Access to water activities is great as well!
Came for Captivaville and loved it! Beautiful pool, great atmosphere, stellar service
Great atmosphere.Server Michael was excellent. Food and presentation excellent. Our favorite restaurant
We really enjoyed our visit here. We stayed in a one bedroom suite and it was really nicely decorated. We loved having plenty of space in the kitchen for cooking and the room was comfortable. The placement of the hotel was terrific. Loved having the sunset on one side of the building and the sunrise on the other. We definitely enjoyed them both. We spent some time down at the pool and Nick was the waiter who brought us some drinks. I have to say he made our day. We were a little cranky about the bad weather we were experiencing and he literally turned our day around. He was fun and super friendly. The booking experience was top notch. I absolutely love the gal, Dawn, that I talked to. It is best to book directly with them because then you get all the added benefits of free parking and coupon books, which, btw, we used quite a bit. We will definitely be back.
Beaches are nice. Lots of shells. On-site restaurants offer good food. Pool area is great as well as the pool bar and grill. Beachfront rooms are outdated, but adequate. Dont miss Wednesday Drag Bingo. Lots of fun and prizes.
Staff has been helpful. Location is beautiful. The beach front is well kept, as are the beautiful pools including a nice kids pool. Comfy beds, clean rooms, and our family loves the screened in porch on our cottage which doubles as a hang out zone/ sand collector. Great place to stay with little ones.
Don't get fooled by the great reviews and the slick video on their website. This place is nothing close to what they promote. We checked in around 4 pm yesterday and checked out 30 minutes later (more on that).
My family and I were disappointed the moment we pulled in and it went from bad to worse. The front facade at the entry at the very least needed a power wash(so did the rest of the property). There were several employees standing around chatting among themselves in the lobby. The host behind the desk was not welcoming. I immediately got the feeling something was amiss here. We were told the restaurant was closed after asking about reservations. Once given our room keys and driving around the property it was clear all was not well. Empty boat trailers and construction debris were parked just outside our room along with the scattered trash of empty cups and paper. I didn't bring the luggage with me before proceeding to our room. The elevator reeked of a strong chemical odor. It didn't seem to function smoothly. The LED read outs on the display didn't illuminate. I saw no inspection tag on it. It may have had one but my wife and daughter were getting nauseated by the odor. The door lock and door to the room was in serious disrepair. It seemed like an unfinished project, in need of paint, and the loose lock wouldn't function properly. The room smelled musty and the carpet was stained, tattered, and some tile on the floor was not laid properly which I tripped on. My wife wouldn't use the bathroom because it, quite simply, stunk.
I've gladly paid $60 a night during fishing trips to remote areas for similar rooms but this was 7 times that. It was a third rate room with a room rate of a first class resort. I was both angry and disappointed I'd been taken by the slick promotional video on their website.
Upon entering the room my daughter began to cough and sneeze. That was it. We spent 10 minutes in the room and left. Our thoughts were what else is wrong. We drove to the front desk and expressed our disappointed with the difference between what they promoted and what was reality. We expressed the health issues with our daughter. It fell on deaf ears. Several times the host stated "It's our policy to charge a 1/2 day charge for cancelling". I heard the host tell the off-site supervisor, buy phone, we were there for 2 hours: NOT TRUE. This same host told us he was going to charge a 1/2 day stay rate and when we finished changed the charge to 3 times that amount. This will be disputed.
I've been a self employed building contractor for 34 years. This place felt unsafe and the owners seem to be sucking the profits of their entity into their pockets and not the resort. If management cannot put their best foot forward with the things it's customer can see just think about the things we can't.
Across 13 gorgeous Gulf-tween-bay acres, you can enjoy 137 quality accommodations including historic one, two and three bedroom seaside cottages, suites, studios and guest rooms. Miles of sugar-sand beaches. Olympic-size pool, hot tubs and children's wading pool. Day spa. Marina for launch, dock or rental. Fitness center, tennis, kayak and eco-adventures. Award-winning dining and nightly entertainment.
The location was great. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Restaurants on property were good with many more choices close by. The property has a shuttle that can take you to other locations that are near the Inn. Free bicycles to use if you want to ride to the other areas. Beach is great with awesome sunsets!
Stayed at the marina. Great fixed docks. The resort is very comfortable. Harry was friendly and very helpfull. The showers could have used a little more water pressure however, they were spacious and clean.
Excellent food, staff, accommodation. Food in particular is very, very good. If it was just food, 5 stars. Facilities also excellent. Accommodations are just a bit worn, dragging the rating down. But still very acceptable, good Lomond, pillows, towels, bed quality.
35 + year on and off visitor. Good place to be, and we have always been treated well by the staff & other guests. It's a bit out of the way, but in a good way. Usually pretty quiet here.
'Tween Water Inn is a fantastic beach vacation. It is romantic, family-friendly and pet-friendly. I have stayed there on a number of occasions and really enjoyed the private, gorgeous beach, huge pool and the dining at the Crow's Nest Beach More
Great place to just chillax with warm hospitality and great sunsets
The best word to describe Tween Waters is nice and EASY. We just returned from our 5 day stay and it was great. When I'm on vacation I don't want to be bothered with a lot of hassle. Want to go to the beach?....walk across the street and for $22/day you get two nice size lounge chairs and an umbrella that you don't have to carry or set up. Want a cocktail?.... walk back across the street and the Oasis Pool Bar makes the best ever tropical drink called a Lava Flow and you can charge it to the room. Want to rent a boat?.....go to Captiva Watersports on the property and voila! You have a boat! Want to see manatee?....walk to the marina and they are swimming all over. Massage?...go to the spa! We stayed in a gulf view room and it was very clean and the air conditioning worked great (important in Florida). The only negative about this trip (which is completely out of their control) was the no seeums, vicious little gnats that will eat you up, especially if you are out at dawn or dusk. Be prepared, take Avon Skin So Soft, an AfterBite Stick and Benadryl. Thanks for another great vacation Tween Waters, see ya next year!
Located literally between 2 bodies of water, this resort is a fantastic way to enjoy Captiva Island, Florida. Our accomodations were spacious and updated, allowing us to cook, relax, and entertain within. In addition, there were plenty of dining and drinking choices on property. The pool was expansive with plenty of poolside seating, umbrellas, 2 hot tubs, and even a kiddie pool. We enjoyed the ability to get to the Gulf beach within a minute or 2, crossing a very slow and safe road. We have 2 nights left, and look forward to them.
Great location. Moderate amenities. Moderate room finishes
Servizio eccellente, stanze buone. Ottimo servizio in spiaggia
It's a cute resort. My sister-in-law had her wedding here and it was sweet. Unfortunately, it was during the red tide and the bugs ate me alive! (Make sure you bring bugspray!) The hotel room overlooked the pool area and was a nice size. The beds were comfortable. There was some burns on the floor that looked like someone dropped the iron a few times. The resort is really close to different stores in the area and it was a lot of fun driving around.
Having stayed at Tween Waters for many years. I have finally had enough of the poor customer service provided by this so called resort. WE checked in with 5 other families to a room full of ants and the managers answer to this complaint was "You live in Florida, What do you expect?" Well yes I live in Florida therefore I pay for pest control and do not have ants. We had a lot of food ruined and he did not like our complaint and chose to call the police and have us kicked out. I will never be back and will make sure I share all my experiences with everyone I know.
I felt sorry for the cashier. She was cashiering and bagging groceries along with me. I spend over $100 and had to bag most of my own groceries while two of their employees, which were young ladies stood around laughing and talking and doing nothing. I saw more than 5 employees doing nothing. The manager needs to check out their employees.
I went there for the luminary and lighting display. Fantastic and their bubble machine. .wowwwwww
We used 'Tween Waters to for our beach wedding. We contacted their special events coordinator and she took us through step-by-step and made sure we knew exactly how everything was going to happen. We felt totally comfortable arriving a few days before the event knowing that it was all taken care of for us.
The coordinator took us around the resort and showed us where we could get changed, the actual beach location, a bar/restaurant to hang out in before the actual ceremony and an indoor emergency area to use in the event of rain or storm.
The wedding went off without any problems. They set up the beach, helped guests arrive and park, and then tear down after we left. We literally did not lift a finger! We did ours during the week so it was a little cheaper but an entire ceremony with sound system, chairs, tables, trellis, flowers and everything for under $2k was an amazing deal. I cannot give this place enough props and their staff was so amazing, it really made everything so easy.
Great experience! Staff was exceptional and the place was very clean and well maintained. Beach and pool access, well worth the price.
Love this place and easy to get to. Staff is very friendly
Good service, charming historic cottages as well as 2nd and 3rd floor rooms with screened balconies, lovely views.
Great resort, comfortable rooms, all the amenities are top notch!
We had a wonderful stay at Tween Waters. Lovely accommodations from the time Olga checked us in. Our beautiful room was perfect. Rented a boat from the marina. Excellent advice and great boat. Had dinner at the restaurant jasmine is the best to arrange a table. We are coming back soon.
'Tween Waters Inn is beautiful. I love the little cottages. Steps away from the beach, the location is perfect.
Nice place! Friendly staff! Clean environment! Nice pool area, with a bar. It's on the bay, but has a private beach for guests. There is a spa there. Family atmosphere, with public restaurants. If you stay at this resort, you can go to any of the other three resorts, and use the amenities there.
Got my hair cut at the salon. It was great. I recommend the massages too!
Secluded. Hotel rooms are updated and very nice. Pool on property and the beach across the street. Free continental breakfast.
Crab races are a riot! Dinner and appetizers are good. A remodel has the place more open and bright. A must for our annual trip!
Great atmosphere around the docks and pool. Walking distance to good restaurants.
It was fun eating there. The fish dip was yummy. A bit high priced. l
Beautiful sites to remind you why Florida islands are some of the best in the world
No music in the restaurant anymore. Food fair, service just OK. Go to town for dinner
It's not your typical resort but in a good way... It's very IDK homie, down to earth, laid back not pretentious like the fountainbleau or Ritz-Carlton but great food, beautiful beaches nice rooms, quaint cottages and the staff is fantastic their friendly yet professional... This place is big enough to have a little bit of everything but small enough to make you feel special....
Bad
- no facilities on or near the resort s beach. No bathrooms, no rinse off showers, no changing areas, not even a port a potty. To use the restroom you either go in the ocean or you have to go back to your room! That means trudging through quite a distance of soft sand, crossing a street and walking all the way across the resort, and then climbing a flight or two of stairs/take the elevator. The step counts on the map are terribly misleading about how easy it is to get back and forth to the beach. On the way you pass multiple buildings which presumably have bathrooms for employees but none have a restroom for guests especially sand covered ones. For young children, older adults or someone with a medical issue this isn t just inconvenient but humiliating.
-The resort itself has incredibly few guest bathrooms (maybe 3 on 13 acres). Two are near the pool and another hidden behind the marina all at the back of the resort.
-The no rinse off showers is annoying because you can t get the sand off of you before heading back to your room. The only place to clean off is the room s single shower. Your room will always be covered in sand. Plus if you have multiple people staying they have to wait sand covered for their turn to shower.
-Even though the resort claims to be eco friendly they don t have convenient areas to refill water bottles. Yet they sell single use water bottles in multiple areas. It would have been so nice to have a water dispenser on the beach. Instead they have a couple of guys who just sit on a golf cart making sure you don t sit in a chair without paying.
-As other people have noted the customer service is lacking. Unless you are paying someone they don t acknowledge your existence much less check to see you need something. If you take your car out the staff will park a golf cart in your spot (each room has one very small assigned space). If you do approach them with an issue first they question whether or not you are really a guest and then they are indifferent about it. There isn t any sort of wristband system so they are constantly suspicious you have snuck in.
-Terrible water pressure in the rooms. They have super low flow nozzles and it s hard to fully get clean and near impossible to rinse out shampoo.
Good- beautiful, peaceful beach. Beautiful grounds. Nice rooms. Excellent food. Loved the manatees. Free kayaks were nice except there aren t enough of them and they close early (4:30)
In a nutshell it s beautiful but there is a reason it s one of the cheapest places to stay in the area. With a bit of effort and more consideration for guest comfort it could be phenomenal.
Amazing resort with 2 fabulous large pools right between the Intracoastal and the Gulf of Mexico. What a rare jewel of a place with fabulous service. Our family loves it here. Thank you Tweens :)
Great location. Private Beach directly across the street with great shelling, jet skis, chairs and cabanas. Good restaurants on site. Comfortable room and bed. Awesome pool area.
The rooms at the hotel were very nice. The room that I was in had a great view of the beach and everyone that worked there was very nice. Would definitely go back again.
Amazing. The pool was fantastic, and very large. Easy access to the beach. Large comfortable rooms. Hope to come again!
Nice place beautiful beach. Drinks very expensive, bring your own toppers
Rooms are clean, staff is friendy. Downside is they do not allow you to have your own drink by the pool.
We stayed for a week in the Heron Cottage and really loved it. There is so much to do from Tennis, to boating, to the pool, beach, you name it. Also, the food at the oasis pool bar, old captiva house, and the crows nest is amazing. If I had to recommend anything it would be to continue to remodel the cottages to have the same feel as the Old Captiva House, If this is done then this place will be top ranked because you can t beat all the amenities and the feeling you have when you are there.
We stayed in Tarpon cabin. Very nice interior, with patio and kitchen. Great for a social/family gathering. The resort has a pool, easy beach access, multiple restaurant options. Very laid back. Bring your boat because their are slips available. The resort offers many outdoor activities so you can be adventurous if you want!
Best duck we had in years. Fine food and service. A bit noisy as the tables filled up. Adequate parking and casual attire appropriate.
Well... just came back from hotel.. overall is good - breakfast at the hotel restaurant, lunch at the pool.. Why only one star? BED BUGS!!! I ve got 20-30 bites. It s rot mosquitoes I m sure. My husband stoped me to complain when we checked out, I even didn t leave car... That s why I m writing here and I want more people to know about it. Btw my husband also got bites but much less than me. If management is interested I can tell the room number - to avoid these kind of complaints in the future. Building name is Palmetto
Staying here was by far the best part of my trip. The island is absolutely gorgeous. I loved being able to have everything I needed within walking distance of our hotel. Our room was amazing. The bed was so comfortable and we had so much room in our suite. Our view was of the marina and we were able to see the sunrise and pelicans every morning. We loved finding shells on the beach and laying in the cabanas that we rented from the hotel. When we wanted to try some different restaurants out, we were able to drive up the island a bit further and try The Bubble Room, and a few others. I recommend better the Sanible/Captiva Island guide book before you visit to plan some. We did through our most of our plans and just enjoyed lounging on the beach rather than site seeing.
D I S A P P O I N T E D!! Just plain not worth it. Like spending the night in a "Dumpster with a View". Run down & smelly "gulf view" room. Lots of STAINS on ripped carpet as well as very poorly "repaired" walls & bedding. Sprayed down with extremely short lasting but very heavy industrial strength air freshener. Probably should have been our first clue, as it about knocked both of us over when we first opened the door and entered our room. Didn't smell bad, but was simply too much! When the heavy air freshener scent disappears (about 10 minutes), the room's stench takes over. We were thinking that they must have sprayed it down while we were checking in.
Our favorite part was the random brush marks of paint on walls, probably to cover over other stains. The "touchup" paint doesn't even come close to matching the wall paint. Kinda' trashy looking, but goes well with the odor.
Tried but failed in my attempt to post photos of the room.
There's more, but be daring. Experience it for yourself. Not wasting too much time describing this WAY OVERPRICED disgusting lodging experience.
This place rocks. Have stayed in the past and we just had our wedding there and it was amazing. Food outstanding! Staff second to none!
Wallpaper peeling on cabin baths, lamps broken, lamp shades shredded, inside furniture is outside recycled furniture. Not at all like it was 10 yrs ago. Very very disappointed.
Wonderful experience. Stayed in a lovely beach cottage. Will definitely return. Thank you Ann for your friendly hospitality!
My husband booked last weekend for my birthday and I have to say out of the many times we have visited this absolutely beautiful place this was by far the best experience we have had. The Resort is super nice, the room was awesome with an amazing Gulf view. The staff was great. We ate at The Crows nest where Jasmine and the rest of the staff were so sweet and friendly, they made my birthday breakfast special. We also attending the annual Hallotween party which was an absolute blast. I couldnt have wished for a better stay and a better weekend. If you have never been to the Sanibel and Captiva islands or stayed at Tween Waters and are looking for a truly great place to stay we highly recommend you stay here. We will see you again soon Tween waters. Thank you all for a truly great Birthday/Halloween weekend.
This is such an awesome place to visit. I don't know how the hotel rooms are but the pool and bar area have always been a treat. They make awesome rum runners and taking a dip in the pool is always a fun time.
What a rip! The fire alarm went off at four in the morning so loud and bright it literally drove us out of the room. The other guest looked as stunned and half naked as we were! Then the front desk wouldn't answer at first when we called to see if the coast was clear. It took them half an hour to shut the alarm off and then it went off again at 5:30 and 9. The "view" in the gulf view room was almost totally obscured by one big palm tree (there were more), wires, and a pole complete with transformer. The tub had a big iron stain in it, there was mildew in the shower tile grout, and the toilet seat had these bump things on it where it looked like the finish had bubbled up. How romantic! The rice I got with my dinner at the Crow's Nest was not cooked and still hard in the middle. And if that's not enough, I get my credit card bill and they overcharged me!!!! Sure, the beach across the street is nice but there are plenty of beach resorts that are ON the beach that can be had (and seen) for less money and certainly a lot less aggravation! Never again!
It was our first time in Captiva and it won't be our last. We loved staying at Tweens Waters Inn Island Resort . The rooms were large and clean. The staff no matter where you encountered them on the property they were kind and helpful. We liked the fact that they provided transportation within a 2mile radius which was plenty. I will always remember Olga at the front desk for going beyond her call of duty and Tony Lapi, President & CEO for great accommodations....The food was excellent, the property was clean and very well kept. I hope to go back soon....Thank You Tweens Waters Inn Island Resort
Great experience this weekened. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Definitely reccomend if you are staying in Captiva.
I finally found a piece of HEAVEN!!!
Susie,
LOVE to all!
Very cool place. Quite and laid back. Only problem we had was on check out they had some paperwork issues. Was taken care of with no issues.
Friendly staff, comfortable beds, great food at restaurants, great beach, great views of the bay, bikes and kayaks and canoes available. Very restful. Enjoyed live music on weekends.
Family friendly, great burger at the pool side grill, nice staff, clean rooms.
The worst experience. Pictures are not what it looks like extremely disappointed we actually left after 1 hour .we were told restaurants would be open June 15. They were not .I must say staff was amazing and understanding . Being it was our 1 year wedding anniversary . I really was looking foward to get the flavor of captiva island .unfortunately we did not!!!
Love this place!!! We have been coming here for years, celebrating our 36th Anniversary here this time:)
Amazing resort! I lived the cottages so close to the water and the amenities
Last year during this time, I got to hang out at this beautiful place. It was only a few hours, but I will be there on Wednesday. Hopefully longer! Great place to meet up with Family. Can't wait.
Ate at the restaurant and watched the sunset. It, and the food was awesome.
Great experience on the quiet end of the islands. The hotel was nice and the staff were very accommodating. The rooms have a nice view of the water. We would stay here again.
Got blown off the water in a storm and ended up kicking back for a few hours at the lounge. We ate 4-5 appetizers and fish tacos and I thought it was all rather delicious. Day ended with a full belly and the sun set in the Gulf. No complaints, only fond memories.
Relaxing atmosphere, friendly pool staff and all around great place to stay. Beach across the street!
