They closed everything down because of COVID which basically stole months of membership I d paid for. When they finally partially open my membership is expired.. I was told I couldn t be reimbursed that time... so they basically stole things I d paid. The staffs loving not having anyone come in, all due to the covid excuse

The facilities are great, with spinning rooms, yoga, and a huge outdoor pool and even a nice slide. The weight room was disappointing (no free weights except a few dumbbells) and after realizing I could not do any barbell movements or olympic lifting, I talked to the lovely front desk staff and was able to get a refund for my visit since I hadn't used the facilities. If youre looking for an all around facility with excellent staff and tons of programs, this is for you. If you need to do more serious weightlifting, I would suggest the Sanibel Health Club.

This gym is a giant waste of money. $28.00 for a week long membership. You can get a month long membership at YouFit for half the price, with more benefits. The workout room is small and only has one type of every machine. Want to work your legs? You're gonna have to wait. Plus you have to sign out cardio equipment and are only aloud a maximum of 30 minutes. But here was the final nail in the coffin. One particular thing I enjoy doing after a good work out is spending 15 minutes in the steam-room. Now I understand that not every gym is going to have a steam-room and that's fine. However, I figured with the amount of money I was spending, this gym was bound to have one. So I begin looking around to see if they had one. I was by the pool, an area where guests are allowed to be, when I accidentally opened an office door. Now keep in mind, it was not labeled as an office door. The sign on the door read "Pelicans." How was I supposed to figure out that it was an office? Anyway, a very rude employee comes out and starts yelling at me that I can't be out looking around like I was, even though, as I've said, I was in an area allowed to guests, and if you don't want office doors opened, maybe you should properly label them and not leave them unlocked for any Joe Schmo whose lost to open it accidentally. Only to find out that there was, of coarse, no steam-room. This was the worst gym experience I've ever had in my life, and I am NEVER returning.

I own a home on the island and have been coming here for over 10 years, but will no longer be wasting my time here. The gym equipment and facilities has not been updated in the past 10-15 years, yet they insist on increasing the prices every year. The prices for residents who pay taxes toward the facility is even a joke, but if you are not a resident and just on the island for vacation, don t even bother stopping by. $23 for a visitor day pass and you have to engage with the unfriendly staff. Save your money and go buy a month pass at a nicer gym in Fort Myers for the same price as a day at Fit4Life.

Very well maintained by the maintenance crew from City of Sanibel. Bathrooms are spotless. Pools and facilities in general are in outstanding condition. The gym area has all the necessary equipment for a solid workout session.

Sanibel's Rec Center is a true gem. Visitors to the islands can also use the facility by paying for a daily or weekly pass. The weight room offers circuit machines and 7 treadmills. You must sign up for the cardio machines in 30 minute increments. Zumba, yoga, water aerobics , and other classes are available. There are two pools: a large lap pool and a large "leisure" pool that is perfect for children of all ages. (Unfortunately , pools close by 5:30 pm.) Sanibel's annual Beach passes are available for sale here.

Saddest excuse for a gym. If you plan on coming here on vacation I would recommend that you set your money on fire and plank in your hotel room, you'd at least have a more thorough workout than getting kicked out for whatever rule the insecure "Security guard" says you violated. Or having to wait 5 hours for a line of 15 people to use the one bench press.
