Before I say anything, take into account your staying on an island in Fl. So lower expectations. That being said we had no real issue during our 8 night stay here but they are losing the battle to insects, worst case being when we ordered a drink at the pool bar and a Cockroach or similar bug pored out of the bailys bottle into the glass. There were a noticeable amount of ants throughout the room but just keep food away. Pools are nice and staff is okay. Rooms themselves are pretty basic and food was about what you would expect from a holiday inn express. Parking can be an issue as this place is used as a docking area so that can get busy especially when they host events like weddings etc. We would stay again if it was the cheapest option at the time we look.

We have been 3 times, just left march 9th after 10 days, perfect stay.
A special thank you to your staff at oasis bar band grill, so much fun, Brenda was a go getter, great personality.
One problem only, the hostess at the crows nest, has alot to be desired..
Everyone was always nice, room always clean, great food at Captiva Inn.
We will always be back, Its are happy place, Thank you

Overpriced and the furniture was old like Goodwill outdoor furniture ! Was hard to get comfortable on that furniture then there was a tiny television especially for over $600 / night for a 2 bedroom cottage !

Captiva is a beautiful vacation destination so Tween Waters is located in paradise. The island is easily 5 stars however Tween Waters needs a facelift; fresh paint, landscaping, some of the rooms need updating (in Gumbo Limbo) more maintenance crew members and overall some attention to detail.

Food was good and priced fairly. The staff at the Captiva House was very friendly. The beach was beautiful but it needed more for the kids. There were really no activities throughout the day.

Our room was priced at about $400/day during presidents weekend. We felt it was fair compared to the much nicer South Seas Resort. It's hard not to enjoy Captiva but the place could be much nicer with some updates.

Probably the only true "fine dining" in Sanibel/Captiva area. Well-prepared and well-presented food. Not the usual "huge portions of fried carbs" common to almost every other restaurant in this area. Good location near the water, clean and elegant decor inside. Prices, though, are oddly high--on par with Manhattan, which makes no sense.

We took company to enjoy the beautiful beach (and it didnt disappoint), what was a challenge was finding parking. The jet ski rental and beach chairs with a cover to escape the heat made for something most groups can enjoy.

It is comfortable, gentle staff but does not solve anything, good pool, jacuzzi that they let use until late. Spacious rooms, terrace with mesh, coffee maker, fridge and everything he says. Includes breakfast with delicious watermelon fruit, melon, grape, etc. Cereals, milk, orange and apple juice, cakes, croissants, bagels and other pastries, butter, jam. If they want eggs or others they are 9 dollars x plate. To go to the beach you have to cross the street. It has few chairs and are paid, it is advisable to bring a sunshade. The Crow's nest restaurant besides being small and ugly has bad and expensive food. When there are crab races in the restaurant they do not let children enter after 18. The bad thing is that the hostess does not tell you, the second night we bought to drink and then he came to tell us. Totally useless staff. The best are the eternal sunsets. A nice place, but to spend no more than 2 days, it's boring, with nothing to do, I'm glad I stayed. Only 2 nights. No reason to offer 4 nocjes at the price of 3. On the island there are no places to visit, we went through it completely and what is poor is best Fort Myers and with the same sunset and sea.

I've stayed here before and loved it. Great pool and bar. Nice room with a great view. Friendly guests and courteous employees. The beach was awesome. They need to improve big time the breakfast and lunch menu. Price did not equal quality. But then again you can go out of the resort. Try the Island Cow in Sanibel. Don't miss dinner at Doc Ford's.

We were not guests staying at the resort but came on a "day pass" that allows you access to the pool, bar, grill and beach amenities. You get a coupon book for food and drinks when you check in btw.
The wife went back and forth from beach to pool, I stayed poolside and read. The drinks are pricey but potent and very good. We also ordered several items from the poolside grill. The food and beverages are brought to you by very professional and accommodating servers. The sandwiches were very well prepared and delicious.
You have to call ahead to make reservations for the "day pass". We are now locals from Ft. Myers and find this a wonderful way to spend a day on Captiva.

My family and I have been coming here for 20+ years! In all that time I ve only had one bad experience; this past summer I was double charged for a room and did not receive a refund. Although that experience was frustrating, I ve received word that the fixed the problem in their system and it won t happen again.

It is by far the coziest and most down to earth resort on the island!

Attached are photos of the hotel from about 15years ago as well as images from this past summer!

Cottages are cozy and comfy, everything you need for a relaxing getaway. Pool bar friendly and food fabulous. Crows Nest for evening music, food and cocktails lively and fun. Best sunsets and sunrises right here. Negatives we noticed, free bikes need replacing and Morning buffet has been discontinued.

So convenient! Located between the ocean and the harbor, this place offered many different water activities INCLUDING 2 pools. Rooms were clean. We had an ocean view and the sunset off of the screened in balcony was amazing! Lunches at the pool were filling and the servers were quick to bring more drinks!

I felt it was clean, nice view, very nice pools. The bar by the pool wasn't that pleasant ,didn't let us know they were closing!, and in the morning when we were trying to sleep in they were noisy. Other wise we loved it there.

Went kayaking in Sanibel for the day, but as it got later we decided to spend the night somewhere in Captiva rather than drive a few hours home. We were recommended by one of the locals to check out Tween Waters and thankfully at 8pm, they had one cottage open for us. It was a bit pricey but I would not have wanted to stay anywhere else. Large pool, CLEAN & cute cottage, and good breakfast. Now when my partner and I stay anywhere else for travel, we have 'Tween Waters expectations for hotels.

We kayak from here every year! We LOOOOOVE it! This year we saw a whole bunch of Manatees swimming around and I took some video and still photos on my phone. There is a pass that goes through some growth and you can usually see some pretty birds. Once we saw a dolphin in a secluded area.
