Nice room, friendly staff. The bar at the pool is really nice, and someone will come around to check on you and get you another drink it food if you'd like. The Old Captiva House restaurant is Amazing! Definitely plan to come back.
Came for the crab races, but it was sold out. So arrive early.
Boaters..... Harry and Andrea Rock.!!!!!! Great time.
Came to Captiva 30 years ago for our honeymoon at South Seas.
Stayed at Tween Waters 26 years ago for a very short stay.
They had a great deal on a spontaneous trip we decided to take to celebrate 25 & 30th anniversary. (In the midst of college years for kids)
Still love this area and Tween Waters.
Restaurants closed longer than we were told and never opened during our stay.
Best part is the limited public access to the beach
Came to Tween Waters for our first time and it didn't disappoint! Kevin at the Pool Bar provided the best service by far! He was very friendly and personable. Could be helpful to have an "Adults Only" sign at Serenity Pool so people know not to bring their kids in. Moni was the best server at the Crows Nest Bar & Grill! We stayed at the Pelican Cottage and it was great! Loved being across street from the beach and also close to the pool, pickleball courts, and dining. Be sure to go on a bike ride to the shops! Can't wait to come back!
Purchased a day pass to use the pool and beach. Great views, saw dolphins on beach and friendly staff.
Lovely relaxed place. Everything very satisfying, but a bit run-down, therefore not 5 stars
Right across the street from the beach. Kid friendly. Fun place
We've been staying here at ~'Tween Waters Inn~ going on almost a decade now and have ALWAYS had a WONDERFUL TIME!!!! No matter what time of year we come and stay!! (Summer, Winter, Fall or Spring!)
The Harris'
The Amenities are OUTSTANDING!!!! The food never ceases to amaze us!
We can hardly wait to arrive this coming Friday for our very 1st 4th of a July here! Then we will be back later this summer with our granddaughter's!
Love The History Throughout the whole Island!!!

Great pool bar, comfy rooms and view to die for. Never have to leave to eat, beach and be merry!
A lovely hotel in a super nice location. Very friendly staff really a must in our opinion
Nice private resort.. private beach in between Sanibel and Captiva.... was getting a remodel.. much needed... when I was there
This is not meant to be a review of Tween Waters Inn Island Resort & Spa. It is a response to Mr. Hage s review from the management of Tween Waters. Since this is not a real review we have checked average scores so as not to skew the overall rating. We spend a great deal of time talking with and listening to our guests in order to adjust our offerings, products and services based on the feedback we receive. Below is the response we posted on another online travel review site to Mr. Hage s review.
Dear Mr. Hage,
Thank you for staying with us and sharing you review. First of all let me apologize for the issues you experienced during your stay with us. As you can see from our many reviews your stay with us, I assure you, was not a typical experience. Unfortunately a fire alarm box was pulled at around four in the morning during one of the nights you stayed with us. When a fire alarm is triggered, legally, we are not allowed to silence the alarm and allow guests back into their room until the fire department performs an inspection and gives the all clear signal. Unfortunately again, another fire alarm box was pulled at around 9 am the next morning. The alarm system was inspected the following day by our alarm monitoring company and found to be operating correctly and the alarms were triggered by the boxes being pulled. I realize this is a huge inconvenience and I do see that we applied a room credit to help compensate for your inconvenience. As for the billing issue I apologize again .I discussed your reservation with our reservation manager. You were offered our3 night discount rate even though your reservation was broken into 2 stays (you stayed 2 nights, checked-out for a night, than checked-in for 2 more nights).Which is fine, I agree that you should qualify for the discounted rate. However, an error was made on our end which changed your rate back to the non-discounted rate as it appeared you were only staying 2 nights. I do believe your credit card was promptly refunded the difference when brought to our attention. I also inspected the unit you stayed in and I agree that the Canary Palm does obscure the gulf view somewhat. Our grounds crew has corrected the issue. We are also in the process of renovating the bathrooms in that building which includes replacing the tubs, updating the tile with travertine, and installing LED lights. In addition the A/C units are being replaced with new split units that are much quieter and more efficient. Unfortunately the unit you stayed in has not be done as of yet. We hope to have the project completed by this summer. Our front desk staff is always more than happy to show our guests a different room or room type, based on availability, if you are not happy with your assigned room. Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We encourage and appreciate our guests feedback and we spend are great deal of time reading and responding to reviews. I do hope that we responded to your issues in a timely manner and to your satisfaction. I have tried to personally reach out to you to discuss your issues and our response to them. I would welcome the opportunity to speak with you if I can be of further assistance. Finally, I do hope you will reconsider and stay with us again. If so please call me and I will personally look after your reservation.
Absolutely not worth staying here. The pool staff is rude. The hot tubs were brown and disgusting. The beach chairs are all broken. The room was dirty, sand in the tub, missing furniture. So much false advertising on tween waters part. The hotel looks nothing like the pictures. Don't waste your money!
After the whole incident this problem was resolved! Thank you Tweens!
Met some friends for breakfast & Mimosas at the restaurant. Sat at the pool & had drinks there afterward. Nice resort & they also have a Marina & ship's store.
Beautiful resort, great service, pool bar and grill, female bartender was extremely helpful, informative and willing to make specialty drinks, towels provided, private beach across the street on beautiful Captiva Island!
FALSE ADVERTISING... we were told we could stay 3 nights and get the fourth night free then on our third night we get told they"never said that" although the food and the view were quite nice
Nice pool, spa and beach. Everything was well kept. Security was good.
We'll be back. I love this place. People are great, wild life is amazing. Food was out of this world. I couldn't ask for a better get away. Casual, relaxed, pieceful.. Do as little or as much as you want
Really nice place to stay. Very close to a private beach, you can rent cabanas or beach chairs.
Only real problem was parking seems if your paying that much you should have designated parking. Also like every where else the COVID has taken a total on the employees but they were still abl es to meet our meeds.
We loved our time here - quick easy access to the beach and pool- only A few things
-you have to pay for the cabanas and umbrellas - which is uncalled for when your spending hundreds for a week.
-If you use there cab service be prepared on busy nights they may take much longer
- the pool and the bar by the pool was the best - the servers where excellent and always made sure we had drinks, food and having a good time
- The rooms need a more modern feel - seemed a-little outdated.
- the breakfast spot has great food and excellent service.
We went by boat to visit the pool and bar which requires you to buy a $50 coupon book to use the facilities which really only had one coupon for a buy one get one drink at the bar that would be usefull for someone just staying a little while. However there was enough of us using the pool that made it worth it since it was so hot out.
Brenda made my stay here amazing. The bar manager Nick made an amazing margarita !!!!
We called about a day pass and we're told that we could purchase a day pass and dock for the day. Upon arrival one female employee told us that we could dock and that the few us $50 for the day pass. So we reposition only to have another employee cone out and tell us that there is no guest docking for the weekend. We planned out day on this misinformation and as such would NEVER recommend this resort for ANYTHING. We visit Sanibel and Captiva annually and will be sure NOT to recommend or spend any of our tourism dollars here. As a customer service driven business I would think you would understand this better. "0" stars if I could. Your dockmaster was pretty rude as well.
Went to Tween Waters for Thanksgiving Dinner, WOW was that good
I went to a wedding. The food was delicious, the place is very nice and the staff very friendly.
We only went to go to the beach and maybe use the pool. It was nice but a little pricey. May or may not go again.
Rented wave runners & a boat from Captiva Watersports. Great service & good vehicles.
Excellent place to stay. My wife and I have been going there for nearly 20 years, sometimes twice in one year. We have seen many upgrades over time, including last Thanksgiving where they were burying the power lines on the beach road for a better view. We have stayed in almost every type of accomodation and refered over 30 people who have all enjoyed their experience. It is not a "perfect" place, and yes we have seen ants (that is why we keep all open food in the fridge), have had issues with certain things maybe not working, but that were all taken care of by a wonderful group of people who really care. I recall a few years ago when the weather in Florida was at a record low for the entire winter (we were there for our normal 2 weeks) and guests were coming to the front desk and complaining about the weather and when was it going to warm up !! So some of the negative comments I take concerning "Tweenies" with a grain of salt...or should I say sand.
'Tween Waters Inn has a sister property, called Castaway Cottages, which is where we stayed. The pool at 'Tween Waters Inn, along with the bar and restaurant were available for our use. Extremely well kept property, and service is available both poolside and at the bar. Excellent service, excellent drinks! Fun benefit of staying at either property!
I did not spend time at the actual resort, but rented kayaks on the resort property and had a smooth and easy experience.
Very nice staff , clean rooms , and beautiful views!
I love that place it's a good atmosphere It has a great pools
My Favorite place in the world , I have visited now, every month in the Calendar year, and I can say the weather is always perfect! The food is always delicious , and atmosphere amazing ! Rooms are Immaculate, and Setvice provided professional and happy!
Charming historical inn (on Captiva for over 85 years!) with multiple restaurants, lots of amenities and ((by far)) the very BEST beach (and sunsets) on Captiva Island!!! Staying at Tween Waters is definitely a bucket-list item! The atmosphere is cozy and the staff are so warm and friendly (like family), tons of on-site activities, variety of accommodations. Definitely a "must-do" while on Captiva! TOP RECOMMENDATION: If you are staying overnight, book a cottage! Each cottage is unique and absolutely precious - totally worth it!!
You'd think since the place was empty they'd have some complimentary upgrades and exceptional service...nope...
Yes, every day should be this good.
Cabana by the Serenity Pool was perfect.
Rooms are dirty and the comforters weren't washed. I saw the cleaning lady went from the bathroom to touch objects in the room with the same dirty gloves. I do not recommend. Staff was not apologetic.
Beautiful beaches, awe inspiring sunsets and fantastic service.
We have been going here for years and it is our favorite spot to vacation. We had a baby this year and couldn't make it but we just checked prices for our trip next year and couldn't believe it. The prices have went through the roof. Did Atlantis buy them out? I just booked a full week condo at north Captiva for half the price of 4 days here. I'm pretty disappointed.
Overall a great relaxing visit. Staff is friendly and always willing to help.
Enjoyed the peaceful visit at Tween Waters. Ate at the restaurants on site, all were good and reasonably priced.Room was clean, but a little dated.
Tub very deep and hard to access if you are a little older and there were no grab bars in tub.
Plenty of nice plush towels. All the employees were very helpful.
I'm giving this resort a 5 for our first day/night. We haven't explored the whole resort but so far we love it!! Everyone was friendly, we slept good, our room was ocean front and clean. The beach is directly across a quiet street and is beautiful! The serenity pool is very relaxing and lovely. Pool bar drinks are a bit pricey. We ate at the restaurant for dinner and it was way beyond our expectations. Wait staff was great! Food was excellent!! Would highly recommend it and we will definitely be coming back! Looking forward to day 2!
Walked into the room and there was a HUGE roach on the floor. It was dead, but no one wants to see that going into a "resort" type setting. The room was outdated and there was no microwave. When we asked if we could use a microwave in the lobby, they asked us what was wrong with ours. We told them we didn't have one in our room and they pretty much said oh well. Then I wake up to look up and see these tiny roaches covering the ceiling. They charge extra for everything. Want a beach chair that they advertise to have as part of the resort and private beach, that will be extra. Want Wi-Fi, that is also extra. ((My advice...go to Sanibel Inn. Everything comes with the stay. Free beach chairs and umbrellas on a private beach. Free paddleboards and kayaks. Free bikes and resort activities. Clean rooms and amazing staff.)) I will never, EVER, come back to this roach motel at Tween Waters.
My wife and I just spent a glorious long weekend at Tween Waters. We kayaked, paddle boarded, I fished, we enjoyed beach sunsets (when it wasn't raining) a enjoyed the thermally cooled swimming pool. Really nice after a hot day or after the jacuzzi. The staff overall was very nice. The amenities excellent for an established hotel. The breakfasts at the main restaurant, the Captiva House, was good and a good value, the dinner there nice. Their bar and grill, the Crows Nest, had mediocre food and the staff was not that great. Would not go there again. We never had time to use the Spa but it looked very nice.
Captiva was fun and Sanibel was really nice. Really glad we went there off season. It is too little an island for more folks than were there. There were waits at every restaurant (Accept the Crows Nest, if you did not get in early. Gramma Dots at the Sanibel Marina was great and Doc Fords Bar and Grill was the best value restaurant we stopped at.
I would recommend Tween Waters to anyone.
We did the Beach Bum Boat Rental located in the Tween Waters Inn Island Resort. The boat rental was great - fun, easy, relatively inexpensive
For the price you pay you get alot, great views of the pool and beach, rooms were clean maybe needed update. They need to update the outside but the staff was extremely friendly and it's a big property.
Love love this resort! Restaurant for breakfast is very good. The Crab races always fun on Mondays and Thursdays! Just walk across the road to the beach or go to the pool on property!
Cool place for parking, beach access, a private pool, and a decent food. $45 for a day pass and you can enjoy all the benefits. At the beach 2 chairs and an umbrella cost $20. There are plenty and the resort brings more if needed. A very mellow beach away from crowds. Both times I've been it's usually families with young children or older couples. Definately not the myrtle beach type scene if that's what you're looking for.
We had dinner at the restaurant on site and the food was amazing! The baked shrimp appetizer was bursting with flavors and the chicken artichoke flatbread was great!
'Tween Waters is beautiful! The rooms are very nice. We have a great view of the pool. There's so much to do around the area, and everyone who works here has been incredibly friendly and welcoming. My husband and I are here for our honeymoon, and we plan to make this a yearly trip.
Staff is absolutely wonderful, accommodations are upscale while quaint & cozy, view is amazing!
Showers were clean and the marina staff were very friendly. Wifi internet was not the best. Restaurant was clean and service was excellent.
Every time we visit. We never leave disappointed. Great drinks, pool, beach and food.
Went to rent a boat at their marina and the staff was rude and condesending when I had simply asked where their boat rentals were and especially when I asked if they could wait 2 seconds so I could drive passed before the tried to unhitch and maneuver a very large trailer, they got rude and told me no and to wait 10 minutes instead. Then when asking about the boat rental attendant, they gave me a weird look and treated me like I was stupid and told me again just wait they should be back in a while. They were rude, disrespectful, and very condescending.
Great time here. Parrasailing. Beaches. Sand and sun. Beautiful.
We parked in their parking lot and snuck into their beach. No one yelled at us!
$50.00 dock fee, no one there to guide you in or indicate a slip. Service was mediocre, food was ok but expensive. Lunch for 6 with tip over 200.00.oh a few 1/2 price drinks. Place needs some tlc
Great place to stay when in Captiva, Florida. Beautiful sunsets!
Excellent place for vacation, can't wait to go back
Just love it! Easy and always improving. Employees really get what great service is.
I have never experienced such hostile and rude service from a dock master in my life. As locals , with out of state guests on board our boat, I was completely embarrassed by the unexpected rudeness from this employee. We were bringing 10 guests to eat lunch and have drinks using the day pass that can be purchased. The resort was not crowded and there was ample space to park our boat. We frequently come to Tween waters ourselves and with guests and spend lots of money on monthly basis, that ends now. The dock master was beyond rude, did not let us park, and then refused to let the guests that we were meeting there get on our boat, who had no other transportation. This no way for an establishment that depends on tourism to be successful. We will never go back or bring any guests to Tween Waters again.
Tween Waters is the perfect place if you want that Old Florida cottage resort feel. Food is great, staff is very kind and the beach is spectacular. Great for beachy weddings (and big tented weddings on the tennis courts!).
'Tween Waters Island Resort has amazing staff, they are extremely friendly and helpful navigating the vast property. You will be perfectly located across the street from the beach. The resort has clean pools and a variety of other activities such as kayaking or parasailing. The suite was comfortable, clean, and packed with many amenities. You will be able to enjoy the night sky from your balcony. Absolutely love this place .
A very beautiful place. The beach towards the Gulf of Mexico was absolutely incredible, long with fine sand, some people, dolphins swimming there at regular intervals and water that is about 30 degrees Celsius. On the other side of the island there were Manatees lying by the shore. The pool was nice and the service good. On the plus side was a good breakfast buffet that was included. The downside is that the rooms were not super fresh but perfectly ok.
We just got home from Captiva, February 3rd 2018. We stayed four nights in room #273. This resort was wonderful! We stayed in a gulf coast facing hotel room. It was very clean and had everything we needed and expected. This area is pretty close to paradise. The beach was clean and beautiful. $20 a day to rent two chairs with umbrella, which was kind of a bummer because we're not ones to sit on the beach all day, and a bit too old to sit on the sand. I think the resort should provide free chairs. On one side of the resort is the beach and the other side the bay. There is access to free kyaks. I believe the bicycles are complimentary also. Everyone bikes around the island. Captiva House has pretty good breakfast and Old Crow has entertainment in the evening. The only negative I have is uncomfortable bed and pillows and no free Wi-Fi. My Verizon 4G wouldn't even work, but it would at the beach and pool - kinda weird. I guess our room was in a dead spot? Not sure. Also, stop at one of the Walmarts on your way to the island. The little Groceries on the island are expensive. All in all Tween the Waters is a paradise!!
