Beautiful view from the 7th floor. Rooms are extremely small & outdated, not worth the price. Breakfast on my floor was pretty good (sausage, eggs, variety of fruit, bagels, and juices/coffee). The "cocktail hour" was alright as well, had a variety of cheeses, crackers, raw fish, and a small selection of liquor that, if you decide to drink, gets charged to your room. The hotel overall does have a vintage look which is pretty, especially down in the rathskeller.

The room was very nice. I love the decor and the elegance of it all. A historical hotel and I can say I have visited it. We ordered room service and the food did not disappoint. The bathroom was quite small but very nice.

Lovely hotel!! The staff is very professional and seem to take pride in their jobs. I was asked repeatedly if I needed help with my bag. Our room was very small BUT it s a historic hotel. The reason I didn t give it 5 stars is because our bathroom was awful. Took 5-10 min to get hot water to shower, the shower door hit the toilet, you sit against the wall while on the toilet, things were held up or together with Velcro, the shower head was loose and could be flopped around and for some reason the shower door didn t keep water in. The floor was always wet. With that being said I enjoyed my stay very much. This hotel is gorgeous and I like being near to everything downtown.

Quaint older facility with loads of historical artifacts. If you are someone who requires all the latest amenities this is not your place.
If you are wanting to explore 4th Street Live (intentionally or not) this is a fantastic spot. I could hear the music, laughter, and conversations from my room.
I checked the bar out, was mildly entertained but also slightly irritated with the staff who were loudly disagreeing and ignoring me. Got my Martini in a broken glass, and had to wait quite some time for anyone to follow up. It was promptly corrected.
My Pasta Bolognese was delicious as was my recommended "Chocolate Bombe".

Haven't actually stayed at the hotel but we came to their hotel bar multiple times during Derby weekend. The decor of the hotel and bar is amazing, very Gatsby-like. Their specialty drinks are great and has plenty of room for a group of people to hang out.

First, I was double booked on different booking sites due to my own fault. Lyndsie at the front desk went out of her way to work with every one of the booking sites to get my reservations correct and fully refunded. She worked on this well into the late Sunday hours. The hotel itself is great, but the customer support and their drive to make my stay just that much better speaks volumes to their values. I will stay here again and can't say enough that Lyndsie at the front desk moved my initial 4 stars to 5.

A very nice hotel with lots of history. I was greeted by their hotel historian when I arrived. I got there at noon, which I know was well before check-in time. They made accomodations for me to swap my room around and get me checked in. I was only present for one night. Room was comfortable, bed and amenities good.

It's like going back in time in style. Not only a nice place to stay but a fun place to explore! Alot of what Louisville has to offer is within a block of the Hotel also. A walk across the street puts you right in the middle of the night life or a bunch of great restaurants.

Great location, bad place to stay. When we first got to our hotel room our air conditioner didn't work. The drain in the shower was extremely clogged. Room service forgot my order until I called and they brought me up just eggs and patatoes... not even a water to drink with it! Shortly after room service randomly called up to our room telling us the meal would be taken off the bill due to it being late but when we checked out the next morning the room service charge was still on our bill. Also when we were checking out I went to the bathroom after and when I walked by the front desk again I could hear the staff making fun of us for wanting the room service charge to be taken off.

My son got married at the Seelbach in December of ...

My son got married at the Seelbach in December of 2018. The wedding, reception, as well as the rehearsal dinner was held at the hotel. Needless to say, with alcohol and hotel rooms, our families spent a large sum of money at this establishment. You can imagine our disappointment when the valet stole $720 of our youngest son s money out of the consol of our truck and the hotel management didn t even attempt to replace it. Intended for Christmas shopping, he placed it in the truck compartment thinking it would be safer in a locked truck, parked in the hotel garage than in a hotel room with people coming and going. The truck was never disturbed for the entire time we were there so there is no other possibility. Instead of condemning a criminal who chooses to steal others hard earned money, the response we got from the Seelbach was, why would he leave his money in the truck? . That apparently justifies the criminals they choose to employ. We were also told, you can t prove that the money was there. If we replaced every person s money that claimed was stolen, we wouldn t be in business. First, why would people spend thousands of dollars at a hotel and lie about $720? Second, just how much is being stolen from patrons at this hotel for you to say such a thing? Staff members, upon learning that this happened, told us that someone else had designer sun glasses stolen the same day by the same valet.
Other minor issues that we could have overlooked if the management made an attempt to care: the valet lost the key to our second truck and a fellow worker used the offensive word, retard, to describe him in front of several guests waiting for their cars. The ceiling started to drip water an hour before the ceremony, the elderly man who performed maintenance was horribly rude, the staff cursed the management of the hotel the entire time they cleaned up and proceeded to tell guests that they never see any share of the mandatory gratuity. A complete overhaul of protocol, hiring practices, and professionalism is necessary for this landmark to do its reputation justice.

We got stuck in the elevator in the parking garage. It is the location the hotel says to park but the hotel didn't do anything since it is owned by the city. After that we had to walk all the way around with our luggage because the back entrance is locked for security. It was cold and dark. They need to have someone back there to let you in or help carry luggage. Rooms are small and outdated. The hotel is overpriced and not accommodating. What most hotels would consider continintal free breakfast cost 20 dollars a plate. We will not return. I would recommend a holiday inn before this hilton.

I didn't stay at the hotel. We paid around $270 for the Easter Buffet for 3 people.. The first thing you notice as you enter the hotel is the stench of sewage wafting up from downstairs. The buffet was just awful. I would not recommend this nor will I ever do it again.

I love this hotel. It's a Louisville landmark and institution. Home to two restaurant s, including The Oak Room, which is the only AAA Five Diamond Restaurant in the tri-state area, which is an experience in itself. It is also home to The Olde Seelbach Bar, which makes a great Mint Julip and where people such as F. Scott Fitzgerald, Al Capone, Lucky Luciano, George Remus, etc. have had drinks. The architecture is beautiful and the rooms are very clean. There are many banquet areas for your wedding, but the main hall is the Rathskeller, which is a very ornate Bavarian Rookwood Pottery featuring the signs of the Zodiac on the ceiling. banquet hall People complain about rooms being too small, but for a downtown hotel, I think the rooms are a decent size, especially compared to New York City or Paris. The only thing missing is a swimming pool, which didn't affect me but affects ratings. Service is outstanding. Definitely worth a stay (even if you are a local) of you love classic, historic hotels.

We recently stayed at the Seelbach Hilton for the NCAA Womens basketball tournament and was a very nice stay. The rooms were very clean and the beds were very comfy. Everything in downtown in Louisville was very close by to walk to.

The hotel is historic and charming however the room I stayed in needed a complete refresher. It seemed dusty, the carpet was very old, and the door to the shower wouldn't shut. I was surprised to discover that there was no bathtub, just a tiny shower. I was also surprised that the hotel did not have a ramp to the building! Every time we entered and left the hotel it took two people to carry my son up the stairs in his stroller. We were told there was one entrance that was at ground level but that that door stays locked but that we could request it each time we wanted to go somewhere. The location is great for those wanting to attend a conference at the Convention Center and there are tons of nearby food options but there is little to no shopping in the area.

I guess you would have to appreciate old school class to line this place but I do. Worked for a company that had Christmas party here each year. So we got discounted rooms. Also have eaten at the Oakroom on special occasions. Great food but very pricey.

Amazing place, you feel whisked away to a different era. Curious about the history and who's who of iconic guests the concierge is happy to give you a tour. This place was an unforgettable stay. A must see in Louisville.

Great service and great location. The rooms are what you would expect from a historic hotel, small with tiny bathrooms. However, the character and history of the place is a great part of its charm. Breakfast buffet was mediocre for the price. Not a good deal at standard room pricing.

Beautiful Historic hotel, with great staff and great service, and it's own ghost!! If you are visiting Louisville, this is a great place to stay. Please do note, the hotel was built in 1905 - there are a places where it is a bit awkward due to updates made over the years. One example is a six inch step up to enter the bathroom in the room we were in. The old world charm and great service more than compensate for these inconveniences, but it can be a bit awkward at times.

I recently visited The Seelbach for a Kentucky Justice Association legal seminar for truck collision cases. I found the facility very nice and the employees friendly and professional. The hotel has an "old school" feel without seeming out of date.
Also loved the restaurant.

First of all I felt humiliated cause a random man took a picture of me and ran THEN the security guard was racist !!!!! I will never be attending this small ass hotel with these dingy ass rooms. Breakfast wasn't free and the staff profiled me! Do not stay here if your black!!! I was treated like an outcast!
