Possibly 5 stars but desk clerk sent me upstairs when the conference room I was looking for was clearly on the 1st floor. Was he trying to be funny, because I sent my daughter in just minutes before while I parked the car and her clerk gave her perfect directions...

contacted the hotel multiple times in advance to let them know we wouldn t be there til 5am on the 16th and we still wanted to pay for the whole night and have the room until checkout.
We arrive at 5:30am-ish & she goes in to check-in, while I unload the car... So I get the entire car unloaded & bring everyone inside and we re standing in the lobby awaiting our room number....
By this time I am realizing that the first front desk attendant has had to bring back up to check my friend in... it s taking a minute. Obviously I m waiting for her to finish, so that I can tell her that if she was an SPG member at a Starwood hotel, we would have already been upstairs ordering breakfast... not dealing with 2 desk agents at 5:30am.
BUT being a hospitality industry alumni.... I can sometimes understand if it takes a minute to find the reservation, due to the fact that we are checking in after they have done the End of Day Report for the 15th and that can sometimes make things slightly difficult .... it happens and ANYONE who works the front desk on the overnight shift should know how to deal with it. Period.
Moving on, ...
She finally finishes the process & she tells me that since she is a member they said that we could have a 2pm check out, due to the fact we didn t even check in til 5:30am.... that s awesome.... BUT .....if she was a SPG member in a Starwood hotel, like I was , they could offer her a late check out of 4pm.
The day moves on and my friend notices that her account has been charged $450 from the Hyatt.
(With a one night stay & a room charge....at no point should it be $450) She proceeds to the front desk where they say that it is incidentals and it would drop once we checked out.
>>Fast forward we compete and end up checking out before our 2pm checkout time & head home.
>>Fast forward: 3:30 am dec 17th (14 +hours since checkout)
My friend wakes up and sees that she has an email from the Hyatt telling her that she can Express checkout today from the Louisville Hyatt .....Well that s weird bc we ve been gone since 1:30pm the day before. So she calls 3 times, not even an operator. We both call back to back until she gets frustrated enough to call corporate. They try to call the same place, no answer. They tell us to call later in the morning to reach someone directly at the hotel since they too could not reach the hotel in question.
So I continue to call the hotel ... I finally reach someone after several times.... this person has the hospitality of maybe the guy who works in laundry on the overnight shift & doesn t pick up the phone unless he thinks it s Papa Johns calling back about his order..... he then directs me to John . John says he the only person there, won t even let us know if he s with the front desk, if he s the MOD or if he s actually the midnight laundry guy...
& off the jump he cannot get into the computer, it keeps locking up. Phone systems have been on the fritz too it seems
He asks for information, is very informal & is all around blah about having to deal with the situation in general and ends up coming up with this :
Since we checked in so late, & they had already done the end of day report for the 15th...she was charged a no-show fee . With the fee added to the night we paid for, plus taxes, room service, & whatever applies , it was $450.
John states he is taking the No-show fee off the bill & sends her a copy of her bill.
So finally..we are all just gonna sit around and watch for our credit from the bank, because that s obviously better than trying to contact anyone else in Hyatt about the situation.
She hangs up the phone and checks her account.... they have now charged her account $107 and it was processed during our phone convo with John . That is in addition to the $450 they have already charged, and there are no credits to the account, just this new charge....
We call back... John says he just took of the fee & never charged the card & he can t do any more about it because it s an issue with her bank ....

Not much to say. I used the Hyatt Lobby as rest stop as I was severely overheated & thought the lobby would be cool. It wasn't The decor was nice - unique "wood tree lights" did get my admiration. Sway, the restaurant which replaced the Trellis Cafe many years ago, looked interesting. My husband loved their glass elevators & wanted to ride in them once but didn't want to leave my side while I was so overheated.

The room and service were great. The staff was really accommodating and helpful and I had a really lovely experience there. Everything was always clean and it was located right next to the convention center so it was really easy to walk there.

Location and ameneties were wonderful, but neither the bathroom fan nor the minifridge worked. Check-in staff was friendly and helpful, but the check-out concierge didn't apologize or enter a service request for the non-functioning elements.

This is an addendum to my earlier review. I was remiss in failing to mention the help received from Marilou in reservations. She patiently assisted me in the pre-payment of the room. Thanks again!

Sway, the bar attached, tries to attract locals. They charge ridiculous amounts for drinks. They charged me over 12.50 for a Weller's, which cost's 16 bucks in a store for a fifth. Total rip off. Top that off with having to wait 15 minutes for a drink when they aren't even busy, and this is a loser. Don't hit this happy hour.

The hotel was beautiful. I attended a conference and main session and all breakout sessions were on the 2nd floor. Everything was kid out well and very well done. The $10 parking fee seem excessive.

The location of this hotel is excellent!!

The location of this hotel is excellent!!
4th street live is outside the hotel door, the convention center is connected via covered elevated walkway and within a few short minutes walking you can be at the Yum center or Waterfront Park.
Getting here via I-64 was a breeze even with all the bridge/road construction going on.

I used cash & points along with a diamond suite upgrade and was put in one of the vip suites room 1611/1612.
Terrific views of the downtown area and 4th st live, the room was a little dated but nothing I could not deal with for several days.

The staff that I encountered were all pleasant and the concierge set me up with a last minute reservation to a terrific restaurant just a short walk away(Doc Crow's).

I want to single out an individual for exemplary customer service (because that doesn't happen enough). I misplaced my jacket when moving from one meeting room to another last week. Maurice, who was setting up for the next meeting, took the time to help me locate my jacket by calling everyone who would have had a reason to be in that room. It was a huge help. Thank you Maurice. And thank you to the Hyatt for creating a culture of service,

The Hyatt is an awesome hotel, it's several levels of rooms and surrounding a huge opening in the middle that you can see all the way to the ground or all the way up. The elevators are see-through so you can watch your trip up or down. The prices are a bit steep but that's to be expected from a higher end hotel like this. The rooms are incredible with amazing views of the surrounding city. The hotel is also part of the Skywalk (series of bridges connecting the hotels to the convention center and 4th Street Live). The staff have always been friendly. You'll definitely get a good experience here.

Went to this wonderful hotel for 5 nights for a conference in Sept. It was really nice. Had an awesome time and did not have to worry about the accommodations. The rooms were cleaned daily and amenities replaced. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. Highly recommend this place!

We visited this hotel as a little get away over the weekend. We were very impressed. It has all new furnishing, it has a pool on the 4th floor along with a tennis court! It's in a great location at the start of South 4th st which is awesome. The only drawback to the hotel is for normal guests that don't attend conferences. They have many halls here. Momcon 2018 was going on while we were there and the three elevators to move people from a 10+ story building was not enough. We recommend this place highly but just try to avoid a conference day!

It was comfortable and clean. The staff were courteous and pleasant. Location is ideal as its right on 4th street Live with a plethora of nice eateries and bars. Had it not been the very strong scent of bleach on the bed sheets I'd have given them 5 stars. We had to have them changed. By night 2 we could not sleep and had to have them removed and replaced. That aside, the place is great.

We spent 4 nights here last week. The hotel staff was always friendly and ready to help. The facility is both beautiful and well-kept. Even the neighborhood is a fun place to explore! The next time we come to Louisville, we'll be staying at the Hyatt!

My only complaint is room keeping. We had 4 in our party. That was made known upon arrival. We only had 2 washcloths and 2 towels. We called the front desk for more and none were ever delivered.
