Enjoyed my first visit to Louisville and this hotel. Historical so small room and closet, but more importantly it was clean and the service was great. Valet service was responsive and always around when we needed them. When they were not busy they'd be sure open the front doors for folks walking in and out. Restaurant buffet breakfast was good. Very convenient and I would stay here again. As I mentioned with the historical building there was some inconveniences like one of the elevators didn't work during most of our stay, but nothing that bothered me or my mother who stayed with me.

Breathtakingly beautiful and so rich in history. I was fortunate enough to be able to tour this magnificent piece of history with Larry Johnson. Mr. Johnson has been with the hotel since 1982 and is now their concierge. He was able to relate the rich history of this hotel originally built in 1903. He also wrote 2 books detailing the history. The entire hotel is magnificently built and designed and when you walk in you are stepping directly into history. From the beautiful wood, marble, granite and porcelain, it's really hard to put in words. They even have their own ghost, the lady in blue. Unfortunately, we could not stay there because they were booked, but believe me if I ever have the opportunity, I'm going.

This is a beautiful hotel. It is an awesome location. The rooms are gorgeous. The lobby is breathtaking. It s certainly an amazing place to stay. I was there for a conference and the amenities offered were outstanding. I would certainly encourage individuals who like to go to historic hotels to check this place out.

One of Louisville's most historic hotels and a landmark. You may pay more for a room here, but if you want a luxurious stay, look no further. Also strongly suggest you valet, definitely beats fighting traffic in that area.

This place is as good as you've heard. Rich history and very profession with events. I attended a wedding and the staff were unbelievably helpful and accommodating with all our needs. I recommend anyone having an event, looking for an amazing place to stay or just wanna see history in the city of louisville.

First room air conditioning did not work. Second room after leaving first, bathroom was in bad condition. Floor was usually wet because shower door would not stay closed. Shower had been rigged for door to stay closed using velcro strips, however the matching velcro strip was missing so there was nothing to keep the door closed. General poor maintenance. The gap between the door and the frame was big enough to see light coming through. This is supposed to be an upscale Hotel.

Amazing hotel with lots if history and beauty. Fantastic rooms and amenities. Ballrooms are very large and well designed with plenty room for events of all types. Highly recommend a visit here, for the history, for the fun, and for the experience.

Google asks, "what was excellent about your stay?" What wasn't, would be more appropriate. This is just not another "very nice" hotel. This hotel has rich history. You will enjoy learning about the notorious and famous folks that have stayed here. Location simply can't be beat, the 5th ave entertainment is right down the block. As far as parking - plenty on the street! :)

I absolutely love this hotel. The staff is always friendly and the rooms are beautiful. There's so much history as well and it's so fun to learn about it all from the employees there. Larry in the El and Mike at the desk are especially friendly, professional and great at their job :)
