My family was in town and we thought it would be interesting to take a tour of the Sealbach. I spoke to Lyndsie at the front desk, she was very professional and courteous. when we got there the historian was at the front desk and ready to go. The tour was excellent, interesting, and educational. The historian had a lot of knowledge about the hotel and has even written a book about it. If you like historic buildings then I would highly recommend a tour of the Sealbach Hotel.

Not worth the money. This is an elegant, OLD, hotel with nice staff. There is a Starbucks attached to the lobby, valet parking and quick access to 4th street live (lots of great restaurants at walking distance).

NOT PET OR KID FRIENDLY. I mean this, there is no grass for dogs nearby or within reasonable walking distance. The doors are old and you hear everything in the hall (our dog was worried about everyone so if you must stay with a pet ask for a room far from the elevators.. Or try the galt house, they have grass).

Rooms are simple and well decorated but small. Bathrooms are clean but tight (no counter space ladies, a small shelf might fit your brush but not a lot of room to work with).

No pool or hot tub. Small fitness facility. Basement, first floor, and mezzanine are mostly space for events. Please use caution when arriving on weekend evenings as you may find yourself walking past a formal event from parking garage in back to lobby. Check parking fees, it's per day!

the hotel has so much history, we got the chance to listen the stories from the hotel and all this from the person in charge of writing about the hotel, the Historian of the hotel provided great knowledge about the hotel and it was awesome to hear it while having breakfast.

The room is very regal and adorable but small. It was perfect for our weekend getaway. The staff is super friendly and very helpful with answers to all of questions. The only reason I gave less than five stars is because the air conditioning kept turning off and we experienced flashes of heat several times throughout the days/nights.

On a side note though, taking a shower or bath here is so so wonderful. It is a full size tub in a very nice sized, pretty bathroom. They have tons of hot water and I value that so much.

It's always cool to stay at a local historic hotel, and nice when a brand such as Hilton takes over, that they maintain the historic ambiance of it, while standardizing with brand amenities.

We loved the location of the hotel...you couldn't get closer to the 4th Street Live entertainment 'district' (which is more like a souped up smallish outdoor mall) and an easy enough walk down to Whiskey Row and the river.

Our room (a standard King) was super tiny though...really not a lot of room to put down suitcases...sneeze and you're suddenly in the bathroom. It was hard to get a sense of the historic luxury of this hotel with such a small room.

We've been in grander and much larger hotel lobbies, but this one with its historic and much photographed staircase, and the lobby bar with one of the largest selections of bourbon in the area (and VERY knowledgeable about bourbon servers) held its own in terms of making us feel, a little bit, like we were walking into the past in its glory days.

Make sure to visit the historic rooms on the lower level.

I'm sure we'd stay here again if we were back in Louisville...though we'd do whatever necessary to get a larger room.

(also if you happen to be staying on one of the executive levels where breakfast is included in the special lounge on that floor, know that the buffet in the main restaurant will offer much more to you in terms of food selection.)

The hotel was beautiful and the room was great. The toilet constantly ran and was noisy because of it. The hot water didn't work when I tried to take a shower at 11 o'clock in the morning. Also, the neighborhood is pretty bad. People begging for money right outside the hotel.

We are currently in the hotel, and it is ideally located and clean. But we are disappointed in the service we have received so far. I called days ago to see if the rooms have microwaves. "No, but you can have one placed in your room if you request one." I asked for the request to be noted on the reservation. "No problem," I was told. But there is no microwave in the room, and none available. The employee that checked us in did not say none were available, although I checked repeatedly, until it was no longer feasible to make alternative arrangements. We were told the desk staff would be able to help us access a microwave, but this morning when we tried - fail! Two of us are here for the Ironman competition. So much for strict meal planning! Grrrrrrr!!!!

Beautiful old hotel , but the rooms are rather small and there are few king-sized beds. The bathrooms are VERY small. The service ismediocre at best, as we had to go to the reception desk for extra T. P. and tissue.

A classic, historic hotel. The rooms are a bit small but very well renovated. The ornate decor takes you back in time. The bar is classic, and a very good restaurant. If you enjoy history this is a must.

Staff is wonderful. Ask for the hotel tour. You can admire the beautiful architecture as well as get some interesting history on the hotel and the city. The head of security usually gives them and he is super.

A hotel that is rich in history and provides all of the modern conveniences. Great downtown Louisville location within walking distance to several restaurants and activities. Rooms were comfortable and staff was great. Make sure during a stay here that you get a guided tour from the historian Larry Johnson, his knowledge of the hotel is amazing.
