Did I come here because this place was in a bunch of movies? Yes. Did I enjoy the mai tai? Also yes

Beautiful hotel. Just visiting, but absolutely would consider booking.
We stayed at the tower, but it was a wonderful hotel with a calm atmosphere and a good view. Facilities are good and want to use if there is opportunity to go to Hawaii again.
This is our almost favorite Starwood in Waikiki. We like that the rooms are better than the Sheraton but we can use their awesome kids pool (slides!!) Here's the view from our balcony over Waikiki beach to DiamondHead.
Thank you staff for making my wife's Birthday a special occasion! If you want to be at the center of Wikiki stay here! Historic building is plush and worth it. We will be Back!
The Royal Hawaiian is a gem, a historic and luxurious property in the heart of Waikiki. An upgrade to the Mailani Tower got our trip going on the right foot, and the rest of the experience did not disappoint. From the service, to the food, the views, and the immediate proximity to the beach, this place is worth every penny.
Bottom line: stay here and you ll be treated to some of the best of what Hawaii and Waikiki has to offer. If you re looking for a tranquil and relaxing scene, you ll likely choose somewhere else other than Waikiki. But if you want to experience Waikiki, the Royal Hawaiian will be an experience you aren t soon to forget.
Just walked through the shops. Clean and well kept.
I didn't stay at this hotel, but ended up wandering through it and the view of the coast is amazing. Also, the setup of the hotel is really premium. I would definitely consider this place for future stays.
Although the location is perfectly good, the inside of the hotel is very quiet and the bustling front seems to be a lie.
Gracious hotel from an earlier age. An oasis of calm amidst beautiful gardens with prime position on Waikiki Beach. Enjoy an evening cocktail at the Mai Tai Bar.
A little nerve concierge. And the rest is very good. What I did not know, so that from the sand in the water on the Waikiki climbs stones. And some fresh water, not much she has warm. You can easily fuck with stones very strongly. The rest is not bad. For this money.
Historic hotel with lots of charm and beauty. Stumbled upon it because its slightly off the beaten path. Would love to stay here one day. It's gorgeous!!
We had an exceptional stay at this property. Would stay again if we get the opportunity.
This hotel never ceases to impress me.
The service from valet to bar tender to server was great.
The food was great as well.
We love this piece of beautiful paradise and amenity! Big ol property so spectacular.
Love!!!! This hotel! I have stayed at most hotels in Waikiki and the Royal Hawaiian is special!!!!!
FYI There are only 12 sets of ocean front chairs and the line usually starts 20 mins before they open the rental booth ( 7:00am )
Finally came to this famous pink palace for a vacation. Although the weather is a bit unstable these days, most of it is cloudy. Fortunately, I have seen the blue sky and the beautiful sunset.
The atmosphere of the Pink Palace seems to be more laid back than other neighborhoods. It is rare to see families with children, and the average age of the tenants is relatively "mature". We live in a room that offers a Lounge. In the evening, Happy Hour offers unlimited alcoholic beverages. The pink champagne feeling matches the atmosphere of the pink palace.
In the morning or at noon, you can go to the restaurant next to the beach, eat the famous pink pancake, and go to Mai Tai Bar in the evening, sit in the outdoor seating area next to the beach, drink a cocktail, and relax and chat, really Great!
Charming hotel with an interesting history. The setting is idyllic and the beach beautiful. Staff very helpful, always respectful and naturally friendly. The nearby shops and restaurants were nothing short of amazing. Our stay here during the festive season was absolutely perfect. Highly recommended.
Love it there out 25th wedding anniversary the staff was very nice the island was very beautiful. And I will be back.
We had a great sunset experience at the Mai Tai Bar Royal Hawaiian Hotel. Our server was friendly and attentive. The bar was not overcrowded and it was easy to find a seat with a view. Beautiful place to take pictures and the bar menu offers several versions
of the Mai Tai. We liked the Royal. There was also a nice selection of small plates. We look forward to our next sunset at this iconic hotel!
Loved the old world character at this well maintained resort hotel opened in 1927. Well situated at the heart of Waikiki Beach near great restaurants and shopping. Rooms/bathrooms are a bit small but those in the old wing have high ceilings and original detailing. Existing pool is small but guests can use the main pool at the neighboring Sheraton hotel. Daily yogaroebics classes are at the Sheraton infinity pool. We enjoyed a front garden view from our room which was beautifully lit at night. Service was very attentive.
The walls are incredibly thin. Pray you don't have loud neighbors or a baby next door because your sleep schedule will be determined for you.
The second oldest hotel on the Waikiki strip. The Moorish architecture is beautiful. Classic old hotel.
I spent over $300 a piece for tickets to the New Years Eve event here expecting a luxurious evening. It was anything but that. The food was actually good, but the music was terrible and there were older gentleman throwing snappers (little popping firecrackers) all evening in the Mai Tai Bar area. These hit my legs several times. The staff nor security seemed to care. I was extremely disappointed and expected more from such a classy establishment.
Rooms are amazing! Very spacious, and the attendants are very courteous and kind! We got lei'd!
Elegant and old. Well taken care of. Good food good drinks good service. Amazing view
This hotel is amazing. Clean and well kept. Drinks at the outside bar and food is excellent. You can't go wrong.
Great location just few steps by the beach, near Duke s Restaurant, parks, shopping mall, beach board rentals, and more!
Neighbor to Moana Surfrider Hotel.
Great stay at a fantastic traditional hotel right on Waikiki beach. Who wouldn t love that? Great service and great room!
A very old and tired property. For the price you d expect a lot more.
The Royal Hawaiian is an absolutley beautiful hotel. I was amazed how gorgeous the building, the rooms and the location of it was. However I received poor service from several of the staff which is why I cannot give it a perfect five stars. Firstly, my partner and I were overcharged for three things - they claimed we hadn't paid our hotel tax and were happy to take our money for it even though we had already paid. Another staff member realised luckily. When we went to the cafe they charged us for something twice. And at our checkout they tried to charge us over $100 for an activity we never did, luckily I had my hotel receipt with me. These could have all been coincidences but we were only there two nights so I'm not sure. There was an old fashioned exclusiveness about it that made my boyfriend and I feel uncomfortable being ourselves. I think we were the youngest couple there and maybe didn't have as much money as the other guests. However we saved up for our room and assumed we would have been treated the same as everyone else. We often felt judged by the staff for our age or look.. I'm not sure.
Love this place. All staff were more then helpful and the resort has a real relaxed feel to it.
Gorgeous resort. The grounds are spectacular, beach is very large in comparison to other resorts in Waikiki. Everyone was incredibly helpful and nice!! Loved my stay here.
My fave hotel in all of the islands.
Check out my pictures below.
The staff here are incredible. They care. Elizabeth at the front desk is my all time favourite person at all Marriott s. So helpful, friendly and professional.
The housekeeping is amazing. So friendly at evening turndown service.
The location is incredible. Literally is the central core to the beach. Everything is nearby.
The little shops are perfect and there is something for everyone.
You have access to the Moana and Sheraton nearby as well so that is great for options too.
The beach is tiny but fun. We always get floaters from ABC and float offshore every day in front of the hotel and soak in all the scenery.
The only area for improvement IMHO is the food in the Hotel restaurants needs a big change in variety and quality.
This place is a 5 location and I ll be back every year. And this is my 10th year here at Christmas.
I love coming here with my family. There's so many restaurants to choose from! Also, it:s always very clean :D
A historic hotel in Waikiki. It is a place epitomizing Hawaii. We enjoy visiting this hotel for events.
A quick summary: This is hands-down in my top 5 for the nicest hotels that I've ever stayed in. The unique experience at this hotel cannot be matched anywhere else in Waikiki or on the island for that matter. From the moment you enter the premises, you instantly feel you're taken to another time and place in the best way possible. The character of this hotel has been proudly preserved, which is immediately apparent by the pink facade of the building. We spent an hour each day walking around all parts of this hotel from the lush gardens to the historical exhibits throughout the building. If you want to be fully immersed in the hotel's history, choose a room labeled "Historic." If you want a taste of history with modern amenities in your room, choose a room in the Tower - it was not part of the original building but has been seamlessly incorporated into the overall property. Our full ocean view from the Tower was breathtaking. The shops in the main building are fantastic. You must visit Debbi in the Martin & McArthur art gallery. She has incredible knowledge about the hotel and the local artists showcased in her store. The hotel gives you coupons for daily free drinks/appetizers at the Mai Tai bar, which are a GREAT value. The Mai Tai bar is a fantastic place to grab a drink and snack on a cobb salad or ahi poke while watching the waves roll in. Make sure to reserve a pink umbrella and chairs beachside a day in advance as they get booked quickly - the cost is about $52, which is an incredible deal for a full-day reservation. This hotel seems more suited for couples than families with kids given the pool is very small, but Waikiki beach is steps away so the small pool should not be a dealbreaker. I cannot encourage people enough to choose this hotel - you will be so glad you did! We will never stay anywhere else when we come back to Oahu.
Close to every thing love the banana muffins they give u when u first check in the beach is right there and all the shops
I do not like it from the appearance.
If you're staying here, choose a Sheraton.
My customers shared that they really enjoyed the collection of shops and restaurants at the resort.
Get a mai tai at the Mai Tai bar! Super touristy but the experience is fun nonetheless, super friendly bar and beautiful space.
Great place to grab a drink by the beach. The "Pink Cada" is delicious!
Wonderful location. Right on the beach! Very clean rooms and all staff is attentive and helpful.
Nice rooms, friendly staff. Restaurants are way overpriced.
Stunning and in the heart of everything in Waikiki!
What a great hotel! Right on the beach, old world charm, open air veranda feeling comfort. Built in the late 20s this is one of the earliest hotels in the area. Only the Moana is older. Restaurants on the beach, lots of activities and the historic building make this a must stay place in Honolulu.
Just attended the Luau & staying elsewhere. It was one of the best luaus I have ever seen.
Location is great. Close to food and shopping, if that's what you're into. The rooms are spacious. They are making more efforts to be green such as: the option not to be given new towels and bedding everyday. They have some of the most friendly and helpful staff.
Wonderful stay staff was very knowlegable and kind. Wait times at front desk could be better
A Beautiful hotel. The best I ever seen. My cousin and her husband came from Danbury Connecticut and stayed there. I went with them to the luau. Was very Beautiful. I loved it.
We are quite satisfied with the hotel we have stayed so far (* ' `*)
It was a condominium group, but I reconfirmed the wonderfulness of the hotel stay.
The pool can also be used by the Sheraton pool next door.
Drinks were great as well as reasonabley priced as well as having a great bartender easy 5 stars
We stayed in a Garden View room in the Historic Wing which was clean but a bit small and wasn't anymore luxurious than a standard room you can find at a regular hotel. However, the resort itself is stunning (the pictures do not do it justice) & they commit to the pink theme in a way that is playful but not overdone. I thoroughly enjoyed that the hotel has more character than the high rises that tower above it. The pool is small, but guests have access to the Sheraton pool next door. The service for the most part was on par with a luxury resort and when there was an issue with service, it was taken care of by management. The housekeeping staff is incredibly sweet and made sure to ask me if I needed anything for my room when I passed them in the hall. You can't beat the beachfront location of this resort and it's in a very walkable portion of Waikiki. I would recommend booking beach umbrella sets in advance ($40/day) to maximize comfort while beaching. I would definitely return for future stays.
We prefer smaller hotels on our travels and this house was perfect for us, we felt very comfortable there and were able to explore the beach and city on foot. The hotel is also very popular with newlyweds.
Location is good but finding it can be a little difficult
I do not like cockroaches in the bathroom.
There are many good places to take pictures.
This is a beautiful, historic hotel. All older hotels have quirks, and they have even more when they're keeping things to a standard of tradition. If you can't handle a few, small peculiarities with your hotel then this isn't for you. For me? There's no place else I'd rather be.
The rooms are awesome. Theres an unnecessarily large walkin closet in our two queen bed room. Everything is clean and great condition! Didn't stay here but visited friends that stayed here a few times. Overall impression from them was that it was an excellent place to stay.
We didn't stay there but it was really beautiful. We had breakfast there one morning right on the beach...it was beautiful. We went another day for massages. The massage itself was great...it was outside in a private little bungalow. I Highly recommend JD...he has magic hands. The only problem is that there was near by construction that was a little loud...nothing to do with the hotel but it did take away from the massage.
This place is awesome! You walk through the lobby & it leads straight out to the ocean. It's Breathtaking!
Alii suite over looks most [touristy parts] of the East side of Oahu
What an amazing, opulent and nostalgic ambience! One of Hawaii's finest hotels.
The food was amazing and the history of the resort was very interesting
Loved the hotel! Upon arrival, Sandra at the front desk upgraded us to a ocean view room in milauni tower which had a private lounge and made our entire stay 1000% better. We had rain most of the week and Sandra made vacation amazing right off the bat and made up for the gross weather! Location was great and staff all super friendly. Mai Tai beach bar doesn t have the greatest food so I definitely recommend Dukes beach bar right next door in the Outrigger hotel for lunch! Also the breakfast buffet was way overpriced and not that great so I definitely recommend going to other places for breakfast...there s tons along the strip way cheaper! Restaurants and stores were great right near the hotel and we had a great trip. Thanks Sandra!
Everything about this place was wonderful. The staff was very friendly and quick to respond to all of our needs. There were bottles of water in the room when we arrived, and more brought during the turn down service. They left chocolate at turn down, and even removed the trash at the time. Used towels were removed, and while there were plenty more towels, they didn't replace the super plush ones. I'm sure if we called for more of the nice ones, they would have arrived quickly. We had a wonderful dinner at the restaurant. Very expensive, but the service and quality were well matched to the price. The hotel isn't on the street at all, so you may never notice it while walking along the road. There was a lovely pool and what appeared to be a private area on the beach, buyout it was just a roped of area close to the hotel. Though fairly crowded (late June), we had an easy time finding a nice spot near the water.
