First, I would like to say that this hotel was not booked by my choice, it was booked by someone else, as we were in New Orleans for business. The staff was friendly for the most part when we arrived. The room was nice, but oddly shaped and rather small. We were staying for a week and were trying to be moderately conscious of our spending, and had originally planned not to eat out for every single meal. The room did have a mini fridge, however, it said that if we removed anything from this mini fridge to keep our own items cool, or added anything, they would charge us a restocking fee... something like $25. Absurd.
We decided, "Okay fine we don't have to keep anything in this refrigerator, we will just get some ice and keep some drinks in the room."
My second most important complaint would be that there wasn't a coffee pot in the room. Never in my life have I stayed in a hotel without a coffee pot. (The Roosevelt may be one of the prettiest hotels I've stayed in, but the lack of a coffee pot was just a downer.) There was a restaurant in the hotel where I could buy coffee.. or I could order room service and pay $9 for a two cups... NO Thank you!!

My final complaint. Upon checkout we had a bill for something like $25 dollars for drinks at the pool bar one day. That was fine and we left. When we arrived home, probably a week later, my boyfriend checked his credit card statement and saw that there was a charge for $36 rather than $25. We called the hotel and they told us that we had taken a red bull out of the mini fridge, on the day that we checked out. We left at 6:00 am. We hadn't taken anything out of the mini fridge, because the thought of paying any of the prices for the mini items in the mini fridge was appalling. After numerous phone calls to the hotel, the issue still goes unresolved. Had our stay not been pre-paid we may not have noticed that $11 extra charge for something we hadn't used. It makes me wonder, how often do the cleaning people take things from the mini fridge after people check out, bill it to the customer and nobody ever notices.... Food for thought. Side note: While we were there we thought we misplaced a pair of sunglasses... after this fiasco with the stolen red bull, we have come to believe that the cleaning staff probably helped themselves to them.

I don't frequent New Orleans, but in the odd chance I do return, I will definitely NOT be staying in The Roosevelt.

My only reason for giving it two stars, is that it was a beautiful hotel.

Lots of people trying to take photos across the walkway either stopping people or standing there for 2 minutes waiting for a break. Bars completely filled. Lots of white lights. God help anyone trying to check in or out. Could skip it and not be sad.

Spectacular historic hotel that is in amazing condition. The long hall lobby is beautiful. We did not stay here, so my evaluation is only on the beauty and condition of the lobby and restaurants.

My wife and I are currently staying in the hotel for 3 nights in room 10506 whose windows are towards Barrone Street. For the past two nights there is constant noise with some construction or heavy machinery and the hotel mgmt has no clue what the noise was about. When complained about the noise we were simply told that they can t do anything about external noises.

The walls are so flimsy you can hear everything happening in your neighbors room so clearly. Absolutely no sound proofing of the room has been done and it s disappointing for a brand name of Waldorf Astoria.

In a day where even a Motel 6 offers free wifi we were shocked to see they are charging for free Wi-Fi or you need to sign up Hilton Honors membership. Before you know it there will probably be hundreds of email from them by the time we finish our trip .

The entertainment choices are mediocre as well compared to what other premium hotels are offering for in room entertainment.

Valet was quick, the decor inside for XMas was spectacular (it was my first time visiting during Xmas), the bellman and all staff were extremely friendly and the rooms were exactly what you would expect from from such a top notch hotel.

Great hotel right across from the French Quarter. This place is fancier than most hotels I stay in, but I showed up in jeans and a short sleeve shirt and wasn't out of place. The hotel staff was very courteous and helpful, the concierge was very knowledgeable in recommending restaurants. The rooms were not large, but were well maintained and clean. The bed was incredibly comfortable. Valet parking was about $50, but there are garages adjacent that charge $20. My biggest complaint was that there was no coffee maker in the room and no where nearby to get coffee until after 6 am. Request a room above the 4th floor.

First before everything else let me make you aware the hotel itself is simply beautiful, my first night there while at the pool area we had two situations 1: one of my friends went to the bar to be served after standing at the bar for quite some time she came back to join our group upset because she had not been waited on so I said to her I would go to the bar to get her order to not let it ruin her night, while I was at the bar the bartender proceeded to do the same thing with me so I called him on the situation and I was served 2: after obtaining the order from the bar area I returned to my friends once I returned I saw a section that was open that had been rented but the guest had left the area so I asked the attendant/waiter if we could have that area I was told we couldn t because the group that rented the section had the area for the entire day after settling there for a while I saw another group come in looking for somewhere to set, I picked up the menu to order from the bar area and I see the poolside areas are not in fact rented for 24 hours they are only rented until 6:30 then I see the exact section I questioned about setting in being split up for another group, so I went to the bar to speak with a manager, upon doing so I discovered the manager was in fact the bartender who was deliberately not seeing patrons with melanin in their skin, he then offered a free cabana/drinks/food that actually upset me even more, because first of all I was there with a group of guests that had traveled over 15 hours to get there we had rented 7 rooms in this lavish hotel to be treated with disrespect, I quickly reassured the manager we didn t need free food or drinks, I asked to speak with his boss I was then approached by the GM and very quickly he proceeded to do the exact same thing his bar manager had done which was to offer free food and drinks, again I explained to him we didn t travel this far and pay as much money as we were paying because we were looking for free food and drinks, I then proceeded to explain to him we wanted the same service everyone else was receiving, after speaking with the GM for awhile and getting no where I asked my friend what did she want to do; we were both getting frustrated so the GM says well when is your sons birthday, because somewhere in the conversation we shared we had come to celebrate her sons 40th birthday which was going to be the coming up Wednesday so the GM said how about we send him a cake, me and my friend were both tired of talking with this person in the suit and tie so we said ok, the GM assured us this was the first time anything like this had happened and he would speak with his staff, about 30 minutes later her sons wife comes to the pool area with a picture of the cake that was sent by the hotel probably not 15 minutes after speaking with the GM, that showed me he could careless about the conversation he had with us, no thought what so ever; just send them a piece of cake to shut them up, I was livid this was a once in a lifetime trip to have something so racist and belittling happen. Like I said before the hotel itself is beautiful but the vibes you get inside is very indicative of the south .

Old world class. Wonderful stay. Central location. Comfortable bed.
Ferragamo shower products but not, as I read somewhere, his skin care line. In fact no one had even heard of it.
If you are not planning to party late, ask for a room away from the street. On the 7th floor we had noise til about 3AM.
Extremely knowledgeable concierge team!

A true 5-start experience, this hotel lives up to the Waldorf Astoria brand. Conveniently located right next to the French Quarter, it's easy to find good food and a good time. One note, always use the Tower 1 elevators, they are bigger and therefore faster.

Highly recommend sipping on a Sazerac in a leather chair in the lobby of the hotel that invented the drink. Plus, if you come around Christmas you get to enjoy their elaborate decorations!
