Gorgeous place and a short walk from all the great spots anyone wants to see in the Quarter. Like a slice of 1920's America.
Gorgeous place and a short walk from all the great spots anyone wants to see in the Quarter. Like a slice of 1920's America.
Stayed once in 2015. Hopefully replaced the front desk ass staff. Jerk offs
This is a cool hotel that encompasses the essence of New Orleans. It's old, ornate, beautiful, ridiculous, and oozing with character. The Sazerac Bar is expensive but definitely worth having a drink or two just to look around and imagine what the scene looked like in 1893 when it was built.
Went to The Roosevelt for drinks after my girlfriend and her classmates finished their finals. The Sazerac Bar was nice and we got drinks while we waited for the rest to arrive. Then we moved over to the restaurant next door. The service was friendly and fast. They accommodated or large group and even a few more people we didn't event know were coming. We had drinks and appetizers and they were brought to us fast while we sat and chatted. I even asked to see if they knew how to make a favorite drink of mine that wasn't on the drink menu - I was surprised when the waitress told me that the bartender did know how to make it and would be happy to make me one. While most people will say it's pricey the level of professionalism and service while also the beauty of the hotel (we went during Christmas so the main hallway was decorated "to the nines") more than pay for themselves. I will definitely be returning and would highly recommend it to anyone in New Orleans
I stayed here for a work conference. Beautiful hotel, and helpful staff.
When I checked in, I warned the front desk that there are two of us with the same name who come to the same meeting, and that we have had a mix up in the past in prior hotels and prior locations. The front desk asked that I confirm the credit card number which had been used to place the reservation. I noticed that it did not match, but the front desk person said that is okay, and he proceeded to give me the key. I went to the room, and to my surprise, the room was already occupied, presumably by my friend with the same name (I did not try to check).
I quickly backed out of the room and went to the front desk to explain the situation. The manager apologized and rectified the situation by checking me in to the correct room with an upgrade (not free).
My stay was wonderful. The amenities and venue were beautiful. The service was pleasant and professional.
Prior to my departure, I checked out at the registration desk at 11:30am. The front desk staff provided me with a physical copy of the paper bill which accurately detailed the charges. I thus went to the airport and returned home.
To my dismay, the next day on Sunday, I received an email bill that incorrectly charged me for an additional night's stay despite my having went to the front desk to check out. The statement differed from the paper statement I had received just hours earlier. I called the Roosevelt New Orleans to dispute the charges, and I was told that I would have to call the following day as the billing department was only open on weekdays. However, I did not accept this advice to call back, and ultimately I was transferred to Cody Thompson. He reviewed the situation and handled the situation in a professional and timely manner. He immediately rectified the charges and sent via email a statement that matched the statement that I had received in print and in person the day before. He also rewarded me with extra hilton honor points.
Overall, I am concerned about the lack of diligence and proper training of the front desk registration staff. Fortunately, the venue is wonderful, and the managers did seem to be able to clean up the mess, but only after a small amount of headache on my end.
Good stop for drinks. During the holidays, it's worth the trip to check out the lobby.
This place is cool, and clean.but 16 bucks for a drink sucks. Also, they're very adiment about their rules, and not flexible at all, that kinda sucks.
To be avoided at all cost during xmas time. Complete tourist attration and a jungle. Not worth the money and definitely not living up to its name for service
Love the atmosphere. Have a Sazerac and enjoy the hospitality. It is also a plus that the Dominica is attached to the lobby. (Reservations needed)
Always fun to see at the holidays. Good bars and restaurants.
Beautiful hotel. The service at the Sazarac bar was good, but not as great or friendly as at the Davenport Lounge at the Ritz Carlton across the street.
This is an absolutely beautiful hotel, the staff is wonderful, and their light display in the lobby is famous for Christmas.
Walk though the lobby to see the Paris Exhibition Clock, free and very cool.
I came for dinner, but I had to stop to take pictures. The lobby was wonderfully decorated for the holidays.
Loved this place, nice and clean from the entrance through out. The rooms are elaborate, that's my home away from home when I'm in New Orleans.
Great hotel clean, neat historic yet my room was nicely decorated and updated
Oh my !The best place to stay when in New Orleans! Convenient to everything, within walking Distance to the best restaurants in town. Breakfast at hotel was great with a welcome greeting from Stacy. Valet and concierge people like Theron and Jeremy made our stay so home . kudos to them
Was there to have lunch at the Domenica Restaurant. The food was great and service was excellent.
the bartenders were super welcoming and very friendly they were super fast making our orders even though it was very busy I will definitely be back.
I am giving it a star due to the location which is great! The rest: not good. What a disappointing experience. I am going to actually write into the hotel about how awful it was. Let s just say the staff is inconsistent, rude, and condescending. The rooms are sub par. Room service is a joke and takes hours. The lady hung up on me when I cancelled it. Ice machine broken. Erroneous 100 charges on my card. Room wasn t ready for check in. We got there at 5 pm. One person working at the small cafe downstairs with a line out the door. I mean the list is endless. I would do the Westin as they are much better.
We didn't stay at this hotel but we did visit the Sazerac Bar which was tended by the friendly, engaging, amply-bearded Rob.
Since 2015 This hotel has changed for the better!! Better nicer staff. Not as nosey, very intellectual and intelligent. Thank you Ray (concierge) for your help with my suitcases that American airlines lost!!
I'm always happy staying at the Roosevelt! Such a gorgeous building and rooms and the staff is always very helpful.
Very beautiful historic hotel. Renovated after Katrina and now a Waldorf property. Let a lone the lobby is magnificent, but the rooms are awesome, too. We were upgraded to a two room suite which was very spacious yet cosy. Beautiful interior. We will come back.
Great hotel, friendly staff, awesome rooms, and absolutely beautiful lobby.
very swank. a little on the expensive side but the girlfriend loved it
Excellent location near all activities. Hotel lobby has old school charm and rooms were clean and comfortable. I am disappointed in the management and hotel staff. We booked the trip through Delta Vacations and wanted a place where the kids could swim. Upon check in, we were charged for the room despite that this was prepaid. I had to call Delta Vacations who had a conference call with me and the front desk staff. Wonderful way to waste an hour. Then we checked in and went to the pool, the pool staff said it was closed for repair. We went to the concierge who said it was closed due to weather. We were then sent to the front desk who said the pool was open. Nobody knew what was going on. The front desk then spoke with concierge who came back and said it was weather and sent us two blocks away to the NOPSI hotel. Somehow the weather is much better two blocks away even though both hotels have outdoor rooftop pools. Makes no sense. Staff was dismissive, management didn't want to be bothered to assist with a situation. Don't waste your money on this hotel. There are several better options that will appreciate your business.
The Fountain Lounge was great! A super cozy atmosphere with delicious food & drinks.
Beautifully decorated lobby, especially at Christmas time. Easy access to the Canal Street streetcar, Saenger Theater, Orpheum Theater and the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Excellent, great building, nice pool for a downtown hotel
It was very clean everyone was so nice and polite and it was in walking distance to everything
Stayed here for the past 2 days. I like the style of the hotel as well as the elegance and its location is right across the street from the French Quarter. The rooms are small but was sufficient for us. I m a Hilton member so wifi was included. I would stay here again for sure if the price is reasonable like it was for his stay.
If you head to New Orleans, highly recommend this hotel. Went there last Christmas, it is so beautifully decorated and stay is wonderful. Thumbs up.
Grande Dame hotel in downtown New Orleans. Just like the Fairmont's back home.
Beautiful lobby and great food at the event we attended.
Dinner at Dominica was amazing. In the hotel common areas, people allowed their children to run around screaming. Other than the noise, very nice visit.
Amazing decor and bars, really nicely decorated for Christmas, very polite staff
An 1863 building a block from Bourbon Street, a turn from Canal, and a simple stroll (5min.) to the only casino in town, with updated and refurnished interior, the Roosevelt is New Orleans' best hotel available. Waldorf Astoria is notorious for the lavish and creating a world of luxury all within the microcosm of select-square-footage in the most visited cities all around the world. Here, you'll see gold, paintings, comfortable couches, spotless marble floors, and architecture for the inner artists within us all. The establishment is nothing short of magnificent. Restaurants inside with a bar, I would recommend stopping in for one of their cocktails, just about any will do the trick. The rooms are always clean but smaller than most, the building was made in 1863. People back then didn't treat hotel rooms like a smaller version of their houses like people do today. The service is always attentive and courteous. They'll do anything for their guests. What sets this hotel aside from the others however, besides the remarkable interior, is its proximity to everything a tourist could possible want to visit. Granted to get to the French Quarter is a little bit of a walk, it's still doable within ten to fifteen minutes. Shopping malls, CVS and other marketplaces are a minute away for you to get those last minute necessities. The Roosevelt is every active tourist's dream!
This is a classic New Orleans establishment with time honored traditions. I met families celebrating their own holiday traditions many years in the making. Have a Sazerac, enjoy the ambience, start your own traditions.
Amazing lobby lights for Christmas. The lounge and bar looked great too
Sazerac Bar is the most BEAUTIFUL bar I've ever seen. History & elegance soak into the air here. The Sazerac drink was delicious and expertly prepared
Stopped in for drinks in The Sazerac and to check out the lobby Christmas decorations. Definitely worth visiting and enjoying during the Christmas season.
Nice hotel with very friendly staff. Located just off Canal near the French Quarter, easy to walk around. About a 15 min drive to the Garden District. Valet Parking can be a bit pricey at about $46 +tax and tip each day.
The pool is small, and could have been cleaned better. Overall it was a nice place to relax outdoors.
Domenica, restaurant located on the main floor was really fantastic. I cannot say enough about the fried kale or the wood fired pizza! Absolutely awesome!
Ate at Domenic's. Drinks at the Sazerac. Fantastic experience as always.
One of our FAVORITE hotels in the world. We travel a lot and when we come to NOLA we stay with friends or here, not even another thought. We stay in a junior suite and it is fantastic. High ceilings, outer setting room with work area, couch, TV and half bath. The bedroom is large, comfortable and feels like you are at home.
It was beautiful the lights and all and the service was nice and friendly
Ate at the fountain lounge located in the hotel. Great and polite service. Had the gumbo, brussel sprouts, and angel food cake. All of them were good.
The decorations this time of year are amazing and the food at the restaurant is always awesome.
The Sazerac bar has a great atmosphere. Drinks are a bit pricey but they were great!
Glad we experienced this new orleans classic buy very expensive
Stopped the bar to try a cocktail. Expensive (~$20), but offered the best Sazerac we had in NOLA. Lots of variety & incredibly attentive staff. Loved the art-deco interior.
