A superb golf course or should I say two in the parkland grounds of Powerscourt Estate in County Wicklow.
It is a slightly hilly course with some terrific views. I would suggest taking a biggie or a power caddy. On a fine Summers day you will understand why this area is called the garden County of Ireland.

Fab place to go.The scenery is breathtaking.Very expensive.Cost 25 Euro to visit the gardens. There is a waterfall up the road and had to pay 15 Euro for 3 people to look at it. It's a rip off.

Stunning we are extremely lucky and fortunate to have this, once only for the gentry mere peasants unless fortunate to work here would never witness such stunning house and gardens the people who built and owned this were equivalent to billionaires of today such was their wealth. It is now owned by the Slazenger family, the sporting Slazengers that's right. The house was gutted due to a fire in the early 70's and thankfully it was rebuilt again to its present glory. The Slazengers gratefully opened it to the public. Some less informed people would tell you typical of the wealthy to own such decadence but my father worked for a big house before and he would tell you it was always better to work in a big house as butler gardener etc than on building sites or small farms, big houses always looked after you. Powerscourt is the same today it has a large workforce to keep it in top shape and they do that in spades. I love it here I've been fortunate to stay in the hotel and a stroll around the golf course in the dead of night and witness a spectacular night sky with the sugar loaf and the house as a back drop amazing well worth a visit.

This garden is just amazing. The scenery is so beautiful that the pictures just turn out to be magnificent whichever way you have clicked it. There is a restaurant, retail shops, toilets, all at the entrance. We would need a full day to see the gardens completely. Was totally in awe with the beautiful rose garden near the exit. The roses there are so big and beautiful ,you might actually think of staying there the entire day. The walk around the gardens are not at all tiring as we could find plenty of places to sit and relax. The Japanese garden and Walled garden were fabulous as well.

Incredibly beautiful property and a breathtaking garden. Admission seems a lot at first glance, but this is very profitable. Only on the food in the cafe you should do without and bring your own, because the prices are very overpriced.

What a place!

What a place!
I love this place. It's amazing if you get there on a sunny day.
In fact today 31/01/16 I'm going back with my brother.
For my friend's birthday last year we surprised him with dinner in the top diner and a 2 night stay in the hotel. He said "It was the best day of his life" and he doesn't like anything. That dinner was amazing as well. I would recommend this to anyone. Simply the best experience ever. One more thing I have been going there about 12 times a year for all my life.

What a disappointment. We booked to stay for 2 nights and unfortunately after 4 hours on the first day we where forced to check out. After a short trip to the more than basic spa covered in mould we where horrified that the hotel does not provide hot Water. After 4 hours of constant phone calls, engineers and trips to reception we where left with a ruined weekend away. The hotel failed to provide us with an outcome to the situation. Telling us that there nothing more we can do. I would of preferred to stay at home.No room change available therefore we where forced to LEAVE and make a 4 hour journey back home. What a DISGRACE. This is not a 5* hotel, this hotel does not provide 5* amenities and it sure does not provide 5* customer service.

The name Powerscourt House and Garden is confusing. You'd think there's a house in the tour. The house was burned down and was reconstructed, only to the point where it is full of gift shops and restaurant. Non of the old Castle interior was restored to the old castle's state, which was very disappointing.
The gardens are indeed nice and beautiful, only they are way overpriced, not justifying the admission fee, which does not include the waterfalls that require extra money.
If you're willing to pay a lot of money for an hour or so of nice gardens, and no more than that, then go for it. Otherwise, find a different castle to visit.

Powerscourt is one of the most eclectic and outstanding hotel experiences in Ireland. The grounds are impeccably maintained, the reception area reminds one of the grandiose early 20th century architecture, but the highlight are the rooms, with its attention to decor detail, and stunning views of the valley! Lifetime experience!

We loved strolling in the gardens .. There was strict person despite the sunshine .. What luck!
The audio guides are free.
It is then possible to have coffee in the house (high price ..)
Only small problem, no shuttle to the waterfall ..

Lovely place to visit, very relaxing to walk around. Had lunch in the powerscourt hotel and the service and surroundings were top class. Quite expensive but worth it for a special day out.
