I had major problems with my Neat Legacy not recog...

I had major problems with my Neat Legacy not recognizing my Neat scanner. Even though Legacy is no longer supported, I got a courtesy support session. The person helping me was Myron S. and he was amazing. It took a bit more than a day of being logged into my computer, but he got me up and running. I am so greatful to him. He tried everything possible, and when we were back up and able to scan, he patiently waited while I tried every possible thing that might not work as soon as we disconnected. If not for Myron and his skill and patience with me, I would be lost and not able to do my job costing. THANK YOU MYRON

Lance was just great and he got me back online with my scanner. He made it a very pleasant task. I am so grateful for all of his help. My Neat program is very important to me and I can't think about being without it. Thanks again Lance.

The company I work for originally purchased a Neat...

The company I work for originally purchased a Neat Desk Scanner in 2009. It worked great for easily scanning receipts to help us track spending and to help us create budgets. We also used the scan to PDF function quite a bit so we could send customers documents they could sign digitally. Now the company has turned into a cloud data company and no longer supports the "legacy scanners" and "legacy software". In fact you can't even get through to technical support without a paid monthly subscription. Luckily for us we use the old version of their software that stores the data in a program on your computer. Not the case for users that bought at a later date once they started putting the data straight to their cloud service and now have no access to their data without paying the monthly "fee". They are basically holding these people's data for a ransom. The only reason I gave this company 2 stars and not 1 or 0 is because the original software and scanners, though glitchy at times, were very useful. I predict this company will not last much longer.

Lud was extremely helpful and patient. His follow up was wonderful and he was able to restore our files. Lud was clear with his instructions and made sure my system was working and that I understood how to use it. Very pleased with Lud s customer service.

Only gave 4 stars bc of the product...have intermittent issues. Buuuut...whenever I call everyone has been very helpful and my issues have been promptly taken care of. Sometimes it takes a little while but that s just an issue with technology...not the support staff.

I've used Neat for 11 years. I have two Neat scanners. They've both worked well. A very good tool if you're in business. Anyway, had a huge problem - the system sort of locked down and I could not access 10 years of tax information. The customer service rep Myron was awesome. Literally spent (multi-tasking of course) three days fixing my older system so that my data could be saved. I am a HUGE fan! 5 stars!

I have used Neat Scanners for over 6 years. Initially at my business and now as individual. While I'm not happy that Neat requires annual subscription for the service which used to be free with purchase of a scanner, I'm glad that I can count on their support if needed.
Over the last week I have tried to fix a technical issue with the help of Neat Support & while it took 4 days and 4 different support reps, the issue has been resolved. I would like to thank Joseph S. of support group for his perseverance and professionalism to get this issue resolved. However, in fairness I need to point out that not all support reps are as knowledgeable, professional and determined to help customers as Joseph S.

Cyrus A was fantastic in his support. Very patient and did not give up if the program didn't work. In fact, he stayed with me the entire time to ensure it worked. Great job from a most pleasant person. Thanks Neat forgiving people like Cyrus.

The only time since Google review exists that I would have actually used half a star review. This business is more than just bad products or even worse service, but rather a fraudulent and manipulative company based on the only value in its foundation: to get as much money from anyone as fast as possible, no matter the cost, NO PUN INTENDED. Stay away. Find an alternative. No one should be treated like a wallet.

Melvin was extremely patient and helpful. My Neat scanner driver wasn't working and unfortunately he wasn't able to see my desktop during a screen share because the internet was going so slow. But he was calm and was amazing at explaining how to navigate it and fix it... Thank you so much Melvin.

Ronn was amazing, he took control of my computer and fixed everything like a professional. He knew exactly what he was doing, no questions asked. He took his time and helped me with everything I needed. My issues were resolved in under a half hour and I was able to communicate with him effectively the entire time. Great service, Highly recommended!

Tech support was fantastic. Needed to move cloud files over to new account name and was assigned Marilou J for support. She worked with me over the next three days copying and moving files as well as verifying everything was in place. Great response and extremely helpful she was wonderful to work with.

I have been using NEAT for at least 5 years.

I have been using NEAT for at least 5 years.
I create folders to keep expenses in. Usually I am OK with what I do but last night I somehow deleted files.. years of files, thousands of receipts.
I could not find them.
I pay for tech support in case I screw up. Today that support paid off sooo much. I spoke to Jolene, and she took over by remote, OMG saved my life.. She got all my files back, I did not see them in trash otherwise I could have done it. Somehow they were in my filing cabinent.
I can not praise this company and their techs high enough..
When you have taxes to do, you want to do it right and since you have all the receipts it makes it so easy. The techs will help you or even take over for you with remote...
Thank you Neat for your wonderful product!!!!

I worked with Lud in tech support migrating from version 5.4 to the latest version. We ran into many road blocks but Lud persisted and he was finally able to get us setup and migrated. I can't say enough positive things about my experience. It took a little longer than anticipated with our corrupt database but it is done.

All the revenue they dishonestly accepted from selling the abruptly discontinued and now useless hardware is being poured into the development of their perpetually subscription-based software. Loyal legacy users have been left out to dry. No way am I trusting this poorly millenial-run company with cloud storage of sensitive documents. My $300 Neat scanner is going into the garbage.

Mark A spent a huge amount of time with me this morning to trouble shoot two problems that I had with my scanner and processing. He basically rebuilt the whole system from the ground up to fix two small things. When all the easy fixes didn t work, he never gave up and continued until it was fixed. I really appreciate him. He should get a lot of kudos and a raise!!!!

I contacted Neat, and with Ann's help and her several hours worth of service, she got the system updated and operating perfectly.

It is incredible that this company is still in business. It is the worst piece of software I have ever used. Clunky, continually crashes, doesn't sync with the cloud properly, over priced, and not nearly as good as other products on the market.

I am in agreement with the customer who wrote the review. Their customer service is terrible. I purchased plan in May 2016 and they were debiting my account. However when I tried to access the account in June I received a message my membership had expired. But they were debiting my credit card account. This company is a rip off and is profiting from people. I have purchased many scanners in my life and once I purchased them I never had to purchase a membership plan to use the scanner. Now my documents are in the scanner and I cannot access them. Buyer beware!!!!!!!!! I wish I could rate this a zero.

The tech support provided by Neat was much better ...

The tech support provided by Neat was much better than I expected. I had what I would have considered a complicated issue. First I had an older version of the desktop software mixed with the web version. I was unable to see my NC1000 using a USB Cable and when I looked at my files from previous scans I saw only blank space. On top of that my scans were coming out with half the page streaked and blurred. My neattech+23 support person was outstanding and very patient. Though I am tech savvy and understood everything they were doing I appreciated the questions and explanations provided me. I say now that I am back up and running (scanning) and have lost no documents in the process my Neat scanner was well worth the cost.

At first I was very frustrated when I found out that you can only call them if you have an annual subscription of $120 a year. I opened a case and emailed them, after all I spent $250 on my scanner already. After a few times emailing back and forth the rep agreed to give me a one time courtesy call and sure enough Joshua called the next day. I was on the phone for him for 2 hours, he needed to install a new software and 2 more drivers from the website that you only get access to when you pay the $120 annual fee. Thank god they do have a 30 day free trial so I signed up and got all programs. I will definitely make sure to cancel before the trial period expires because I don't see the point to have a subscription for an office equipment. It is not like they maintain it or fix it if it breaks. I think that part if very poor of the NEAT company, they told me they had changed this 1 year ago. I am positive it does not necessarily help their customer retention because they are making it really difficult. Joshua however was very professional and helpful and set me up so I can use the regular software locally on my computer once the trial is finished. He ensured everything was working and answered all my questions in the process and was very patient about it.
My message to the NEAT company, this wouldn't be a 5 star review if it wasn't for your brilliant employees, the product might be good but the company philosophy or SOPs stink!! I say get rid of that damn subscription if you want to sell more products. The scanner by itself is already expensive. No need to give the buyer a hard time additionally.

Worst customer support experience EVER. And that's...

Worst customer support experience EVER. And that's saying a lot. I've waited on Live Chat for 1hr+ only to be disconnected when I was finally next in line. I waited again for 45 minutes on Live Chat only to have the "person" tell me they would only send me links to help articles which I'd already tried from a previous attempt to get help from Live Chat.

I've had email support send me a phone number to call only for it to never connect to a human. After 12 minutes on hold, the system said, "Please call again. Goodbye."

After eight attempts to get help from this company, I have still yet to receive an ounce of assistance. Glad to finally have surpassed my limit. Moving on to another service.
