As the other most important gallery in the world, the amount of paintings you can find here is astonishing. It's difficult to not love a similar place. But, try to organize your visit before getting there. There's too much too see and if you don't want just run from one room to the others, take your time, enjoy the beautiful paintings and just see what you want to see. Then come again another time to see what you missed. You can do it whenever like...It's free!! Another thing I really live of these gallery is the exhibition that keep. Really beautiful. Enjoy!

Amazing art museum. Lots and lots of art to enjoy. You really need hours to view it all. It combines art and history right at the historical Trafalgar square. Here you will find Picasso, Monet, Van Gogh and lot's of others. Also entrance is free.

Simply amazing.

Simply amazing.

To stand amongst paintings that were done by masters long ago is simply sureal.

My only issue is the difficulty of navigating the extensive galleries as a first time visitor. They need to hand out maps or have maps in every room or nearly every room indicating where you are and what artists are in which rooms.

When visiting don't forget to have a look at the talented street artists out front, their hard work definitely warrants the attention.

Also the curio/souvenir shop can sell you a print of varying size of selected paintings, this gets printed while you wait so I recommend doing this before wandering around the gallery so you can collect on your way out.

Gallery full of very important and nice works, mainly from Italian Renaissance painters.
The visit is free but it has to be booked (I suggest you at least 1 day before). You have to be on the site 15 minutes before the time booked and show the QR code you received by email.

Doesn't only display a selection of the most beautiful and most famous paintings throughout the ages, it is a piece of art itself! The atmosphere is enchanting and every afternoon spent there is another joyful experience.

What a gem! Situated as centrally as possible (on purpose), this is somewhere everyone should try to visit at least once, preferably more.
As well as displaying some of Britain's most famous paintings, like Constable's "The Haywain", there is one of Vincent van Gogh's most celebrated works "Sunflowers".
The National Gallery will elevate the spirit, just as it was created to, nearly 170 years ago.

Really quite good! One of the free to enter museums and galleries in London that never feels too crowded. Located just off Trafalgar Square, it contains multiple famous artworks including Van Goghs Sunflowers, The Fighting Temeraire, The execution of lady Jane Grey and so many others. A wing devoted to the English landscape artists of Gainsborough etc is also good.

One of the best places for entertainment and leisure in London. It is also quite useful for students of art as it provides them with a creative area where they can get inspired and produce some work of their own while enjoying the sight of internationally famous masterpieces. The atmosphere is absolutely amazing.

Monet exhibition - excellent - shame it cost me so much. An expensive time with these classic canvasses. Sad that such a well curated collection is restricted to those who can afford to pay more than some people survive on for a week.

I am not an artist and don't pretend to know much about paintings but I do thoroughly enjoy walking in this beautiful gallery and admire the work of some of the greatest artist ever existed in such a magnificent building and completely free. London never lets me down.

A great gallery with real masterpieces. Unfortunately we could not see the Impressionists because this part was closed. I'm delighted by Jan van Eyck, just brilliant. I also liked the work of Rubens and especially Rembrandt.

Excellent gallery, on Trafalgar Square. Entrance is free, but they ask for donations - similar to other museums and these donations are discretionary. Good art collection, well displayed, throughout. It tends to get busy with tourists, which reduces a bit the value of the experience there. But overall, I would say that it is a must-see place.

I visited The Gallery less than a month ago. The Gallery itself was full of beautiful and plentiful paintings from throughout the world. I was particularly excited to view an exhibition from the Spanish painter, Sorollo. When I was done, I decided to go to the Gallery Store to order a few prints to take back home wiwith me to the US. I spent over $100.00 US doing so. They told me it would take a couple of hours for them to do. They had their own in house art printer to reproduce the paintings you wanted. While they did this, I went to visit other sites in the City. I then returned for the paintings which were rolled up in a carton box. Since it was raining, I didn't open them up until I returned to the Hotel. Upon doing so, I discovered that these reproductions were absolutely horrific. The colors were faded and blurred. You couldn't even make out what the painting was about. I have never bought reproductions from a National Museum this bad. A child could have taken better pictures . Please, save your money and don't have them reproduce your favorite paintings. You will only waste your money.

I enjoyed the National Gallery. Reservations were made online. 98% of the visitors were adhering to the mask guidelines and social distance protocol which made for a lovely visit. While there were clear markings in the floor for the direction of travel, there were a few instances were you couldn't easily find your way back to see what you missed. Otherwise, the team handled everything politely and tried to make it an enjoyable experience. The backpack in the front is a bit weird and can make it uncomfortable at times. Not sure I understand all the reasoning with the reduced crowds but that is just a minor inconvenience while experiencing some great works of art.
