A good venue but the music was mainly Northern soul and not mowtown or classic 70s music . Also the dance floor was down stairs and you had to go upstairs to buy a drink. But a great venue to watch musical shows

Great little theatre inside an old Methodist chapel with a wide range of shows. Bar downstairs, main floor set with tables, all chairs or standing only depending on the show, permanent seating in the balcony.

The Acorn is a community run organisation and accepts volunteers. they have a regular calendar of events, music, plays and even host Penzance Litfest events. it has level access via the carpark lifts to the acorn bar in the basement and a big theater for performances.
its a happy friendly place and the volunteers work hard to make events run smoothly. i like the place a lot.

Been meaning to go and watch something at The Acorn for yonks and finally did. What a great place, with an amazing atmosphere and super-friendly staff. Absolutely loved it and can't wait to go back again! Very highly recommended!

Lovely little venue with friendly staff, nice beer and a cosy, intimate atmosphere. There was someone behind us, singing along to Wizz Jones' songs. Annoying? Turns out it was Ralph McTell who joined his old mate Wizz for the encore. We will be looking out for events here each time we come down on holiday. Thanks for the experience. (We enjoyed it so much we bought three CDs to remember it by).

We should all use this local hall much more often. I saw the Ragged Trousered Philantrepists there who were brilliant and the queen tribute band Bohemiam. They have some great acts and shows there we should all support them.

Cosy, intimate venue, with the benefit of a bar & friendly staff. Not easily accessible, although they've done a good job of conversion & there is a lift between venue level & bar/toilet level. I'm not sure how well the larger electric chairs or people with various extra baggage would fit.

Small historic local building used as a theatre venue for live music, drama events etc. Has box office, bar, small car park at the rear. High oak beamed ceilings, intimate feel, kitchen attached to main room.

Went to watch the fabulous Ben Waters and his son Tom perform here for the last time before he retires. Brilliant concert in this great little venue. Excellent local ales at the bar and friendly staff all together made for a great night out.

Brilliant smaller venue! Shows a great range of acts, mainly music, and the ticket cost is excellent value. In the stalls you're seated around small tables (somewhere to rest your drinks!) and there's seating upstairs in the gallery as well. The doors usually open about an hour before the performance, which means you can visit the downstairs bar and hang out with friends before the start. Penzance is so fortunate to have this venue and long may it continue!

So good to have a high quality music and drama venue here. I attended a cosy gig in the downstairs bar area listening to the wonderful Phil King singer songwriter. Excellent all round !

Intimate venue with a varied programme. I recommend picking a musical artist you've never heard of but whose genre appeals - you'll discover a new favourite. Or a theatrical production by one of the local professional actors or troupes. Go early for a drink in the bar downstairs.

I could rave about the Building which is almost perfect in shape with flowing long steps that utterly favour elegance. To the excellent smiling reception only to happy to answer questions fully and carefully. Then the huge domed hall . But what I remember most is this takes me back. Back to the days of small music club and pub venues that were so soaked in atmosphere it charges you up as you enter.
Then downstairs (great disabled access via lift) is a bar whith an enormous screen showing the event. Unexpected wow from me.
I will mention the sound management was also exceptional.
All I can say value for money a night of intimate jazz a play or a punk rock group you will have an happy and memorable experience.
