Beloved national treasure, we and our children are very lucky to have it. And welcome visitors from around the world
Fantastic place, great staff!
Sean Scully exhibition is awesome!
Sorolla is beautiful!
Amazing collection. You'll need to set aside at least a couple of hours to do it justice.
The National Gallery is the house for many masterpieces from Monet, Van Gogh and many others. You can buy books, and other souvenirs from their shop.
Lovely place, but you need a map to ensure you don't miss anything.
An iconic range of artworks, just try not to get too lost!
Outstanding gallery with exquisite artwork. Worth the trip
Excellent collection of paintings - plenty of Rembrandts, a Monet and a Raphael
The National Gallery is filled with various items, you can never see the full amount of what it has to offer, highly recommend for a day out.
Apart from the plethora of paintings from the likes of Van Gogh and Monet, the architecture of the place leaves you in awe. I spent an hour an a half here constantly moving past painting after painting and only managed to see half of the gallery. Best part is entry to the gallery is free.
Wow fantastic gallery so much art religous paintings lovely resturant i had ceaser salad small and it was a good decent small couldnt of eaten large prices bit high but worth it free to get in donation up to you please go gets soo busy
Galleries are great in London and it is one of them.
Must see - Large collection going through the ages. From italian renaissance to impressionism.
You can spend easily spend four hours.
Easy navigation and not to crowded.
Awesome place to see priceless art! Displayed in a most honorable and modern gallery. Was excellent!
Some of the most amazing collections of fine art I have ever seen. A must see in London!
Has to be my favourite gallery in the whole world! No greater collection than this. I'm happy that you're now allowed to take photos inside too. I can now photograph and enjoy details that cannot be see in pictures in books or on the web.
Every other country you would need to pay to see wonderful paintings by artists such as Van Gogh, but here you can enjoy them for free.
The most wonderful place despite the crowds. So much to see and so many chairs available to sit and contemplate the art from.
Cool place if you have studied AP Art History... Featuring works by Turner, Botechelli, Van Eyke, Caravaggio, and many other artists alike. Ironically however, many places are far from cool as they fail to turn on the AC in many of the rooms. So in the summer, be prepared the heat you may find in many of the upper level rooms.
London is expensive. This is not. The main galleries are free. Thank you London for doing this. You can see the Masters here including Van Gogh and Monet. Even though it is a tourist spot, it is not packed and you can always find a seat to enjoy the paintings. This is a great museum so leave a donation if you can.
Free of charge entry, friendly and professional staff. The shop has a wide range of souvenirs including posters of the most well known masterpieces
Loved the place but it was basically a maze. Whoever designed this place needs some peace in their lives.
Beautiful galleries (even if you don't look at the art much!)
This is more than just a site, it is an amazing experience. It has a wonderful and diverce collection of art. On the downside, the leaflet guide has some wrong information regarding the location of certain pieces and places a few paintings in the wrong eras. That might be a temporary problem due to renovations, but I have no way of knowing that unless I revisit.
This is a world-class collection housed in an impressive building, and it is free to visit. I cannot understand people in this country who rave about the Louvre or the Uffizi and have not even been to this amazing collection in their own capital city. Everything is here, great artists representing many of the seminal movements in art from the Italian Renaissance to the French Impressionists. My personal favourites are Veronese's 'The Family of Darius before Alexander' with its exquisite colours and textures capturing a great, and yet very human moment in history, and Turner's haunting 'The Fighting Temeraire' which tells such a poignant story of victory and decline. Alongside the extensive permanent collection, there is an excellent calendar of temporary exhibitions - mostly carrying an admission charge, but the small-scale displays in the Sunley Room or Room 1 (which are free) are not to be overlooked as they often showcase lesser known artists who deserve to be in the spotlight!
Lots of stunning paintings from all eras upto C20th in remarkable buildings.
What an awesome place to visit!! Some brilliant artwork & collections. Give enough time to truly appreciate it as this place is huge. They've also got seats for us to relax as we look at the art. The cafe is very busy.
This museum destroys. Prepare to be visually pummeled with an encyclopedic collection of art.
Great place to spend a few hours.....checking out some of the old masters.......the pictures can look so very different in real life.
The gallery exhibits many amazing and important paintings so it will take some time to see it all. If you don't have a lot of time just walk through the gallery and glance at all of its beauties. Another option is to do it in bits and pieces - see one part then come back the other day. It is free so it wouldn't be a problem to get back in.
A superior gallery, free to visit, with a lot of amazing arts)
Great place with tons of majestic arts. Walked through it with my grandma who was in a wheelchair with no problems at all
Gives a good overview of art history from pre-Renaissance Europe until Impressionism. A wonderful collection.
This place has a fantastic collection of paintings!
Amazing gallery and well worth ducking off the busy London streets for this. It's free with only a suggested donation. We spent most of our time in the Portrait Gallery.
Amazing collection of verious paintings by various artists. Love to go there and drift away with my imagination staring at these beautiful pieces of art.
Some lovely pieces of art. Very busy near the famous paintings
Lovely to visit, but finding the entrance can be confusing.
Visited the Monet and Architecture Exhibition, which was excellent. Beautiful paintings and well organised.
Afterwards had a little time to visit The National Gallery as a whole, which is really wonderful. It's a spectacular and impressive building with a huge variety of art from many different eras. It really has the best of the best art and is well worth a visit.
Good selection of art through the centuries (but too much Renaissance; need more Impressionist)
Amazing opportunity to see these famous works in person. I spent four hours just looking at impressionists works. The colors are unreal when compared to the prints and reproductions that are all around us.
The Sunday morning sessions for children are the best. Both parents and children learn about a different painting every week while seating on a magic carpet.
As good as ever. So long as the world class art remains it will always be worth a visit.
Really love this place. It was a bit more calm and quiet than the other museums in London, which I found quite nice. It has a lot to see and you could spend days inside. The gift shop is also very nice.
Wanderful! Unmissable! One of the most huge collection of picture of all time. You find places to sit to admire the beautiful pictures. And sometimes you can find a guide that explain a particular picture. Ah! It's free for most part.
Always a good bet on a rainy day. The perm collection v good and specials excellent. Gift shop well worth a visit.
Another one of my favourite Galleries with outstanding and classical works of art a must see. With a lovely cafe downstairs.
Gorgeous, impotent, exciting, full of art, culture and life.
We went to the miniature exhibition which is the perfect size. We all forgot our magnifying glasses but luckily there were complimentary ones. It was an educational and eclectic space and I especially enjoyed the tray of 3xamples from an artist's toolbox. Who knew stoats teeth were brandished a in the slimming artist's palette. Go and 3njoy as we did.
The Sorolla Exhibition is absolutely outstanding; I can't speak highly enough of the sublime paintings on display which were to my mind mesmerising - especially the ones entitled "Return from Fishing", "Sewing the sail" and the painting of Sorolla's wife and baby.
There are some famous art works and it is free. I could not spend as much time as I wanted because my child was getting bored, but would definitely revisit if I would have the chance.
Really surprised to see such a divine temple and the deity. So happy and peace poured into us during the visit and prayers. All the Prathishta in the temple are well maintained and the pooja is so divine. We went on a friday afternoon and it was busy with pilgrims but it was calm and we prayed peacefully. The temple is kept clean and neat.
Absolutely world class gallery. Add to this that it's a gorgeous building. One of the Davinci's is hard to find though, it's hidden in a small annex
Oh my gosh. What a fabulous place. I'm going to have to spend a day or more next time
Incredible gallery. Also the restaurant is very good, with superb views over London and tasty food
A hub of culture and history, so a must-see in London!
You must go, its amazing and well organized and most importantly its free!
