Nice museum. Start of with interesting artists outside of the entrance, then wonderful experience inside.

Priceless artwork, well worth it for any student or aspiring artist
Fantastic venue for everyone when visiting London.A range of pictures to suit everyone's taste
Love this building, it has beautiful columns, walls and mosaics. Theres also some amazing paitings on display.
Without the crowds feels totally surreal, and one can sit down to look at art without having to constantly stare at the back of people's heads blocking the canvas! Wonderful
Great place to invite friends and family members to spend a day out. Will visit the Gallery again.I often scan the Masters and the Impressionists with the Smartify app. The app identifies some of the painters and artists behind the Masters. You can also use Smartify in another museum or art gallery. Thank you.
It's great that it's free but I was disappointed by the selection/lack of. Probably better to charge a small fee and improve the collection?
Amazing place to to beat the city and just enjoy art. Great collection ranging from van Gough to Caravaggio
Just get lost on the thousands of masterpieces displayed here
One of the world's greatest art galleries. If you are interested in art it is not to be missed. Free entry.
Great place to visit, lots of exhibitions and variety
The paintings were amazing. Staff friendly.and helpful.
A,place to be enjoyed for both relaxation and fulfilment for the senses
Free, amazing artwork? The ability to see Rembrandt, Da Vinci or Degas in a single day? Yup. It's brilliant.
Beautifully curated Gauguin exhibition. Cafe good and reasonably priced
Wonderful British institution. Breathtaking works of art.
If you are visiting the city you must go and see the national gallery. This place is amazing.
I love this place, artistic genius from all over the world, on my doorstep.
Went on the first timed entrance and it was brilliant. Not many people, followed the arrows and a quick bite in the cafe.
Large building, full of artworks, with free entry and free wifi.
Located in the busy Trafalgar Square, a must see in London.
During my visit to the National Gallery, I could admire for free many beautiful, interesting and impressive paintings. In addition, the Wilkins Building is beautiful inside as well as outside and really big.
I enjoyed my time waking through the gallery
The gallery has an impressive art collection, don't miss it!!
Fantastic! One of the best sites do visit when you cone to London
A museum to literally get lost in! Layout l found confusing but maybe that's just me. Lots to see - including Van Gogh and Monet. Museum shop is worth a look too.
Great place. There is free entry and at a Nice place. You can get in fast. You cant eat in the rooms but there are nice paintings.
Amazing exhibition for free admission. You can spend hours in here. If only people didn't feel the need to take pictures of every art piece instead of looking and appreciating what's in front of them.
Loved it... great to see paintings that I saw on my school books..
The National Gallery free access is excellent, the exhibitions are excellent with plenty of friendly helpful staff to make your experience even better. Gallery is always clean and tidy.
If your in London well worth a visit. However takes a lot of leg work to get around.
Great variety of paintings by famous names. Really enjoyed it.
There is a water fountain at the first floor near toilets of National Gallery - Sainsbury Wing!
It's free for student and very interesting gallery for inspiration
Cannot say enough wonderful things- every visit is a trip highlight! Thank you! Go in knowing that there is no way you will be able to see everything in one visit, and choose what you d like for that visit so you do t feel rushed. There are tours - I highly recommend them. Also the workers are all helpful. The museums in London are free and do take donations. Each one has a specialty. Go early and go often!
My review is more about the Restaurant than the Gallery. We came across the restaurant through the magazine article on the Eurostar train from Paris. The views are spectacular and the food is top notch. The staff, especially Rohan our waiter, was exceptional. Warning: make a reservation, we lucked out but showing up 10 minutes before noon opening and the maitre'd had mercy on us and seated us by the window (the prime seats if you eat here!) We went for lunch, it wasn't a bargain, but we got what we paid for and was our splurge for the trip. Many thanks, NPG Restaurant, for your kindness and excellence!
Wonderful museum with unbelievable exhibitions, all for FREE.
wonderful place with lots of art work. it's really worth visiting, and has lots of nice view for photo session around the area
They decided to schedule restoring both DaVinci paintings for the middle of tourist season...still so much to see otherwise though and a nice collection of impressionist and post impressionist works
A fantastic free gallery and a great way to spend some free time in London. Something for everyone's taste. Can spend anything from an hour to a whole day in here as it is huge.
Just go. There's so much to look and observe. It's all the interconnected history of you and me and art in expression .
I just adore the National Gallery. It has an amazing atmosphere, it's a peaceful place with a timeless art. Always go back there with great pleasure.
Views and service in the restraint were truly great
Awesome. IMO best art gallery I have ever visited. Paid 16GBP to see the Sorolla exhibition. Worth every pence. Permanent exhibition also large and excellent. Can not be done properly in one day.
I rented the audio headphones for 5 GBP and hit the rooms with the artists I wanted to see because I only had 4 hours. The museum is free but with audio tour you get extra information about the painting and the artist.
The gallery was awesome. Cc is great !! Neat and well maintained!!!
You gotta see all the paintings dating really old! Awesome place to hang out!!!
Cultural and educational !!!
One of my favourite galleries in London. A must see for art lovers.
History meets contemporary art and life daily on her terraces in continuum
Obviously a great gallery but absolutely packed solid with tourists- bear that in mind when visiting with families
If you like really big paintings, this is the place for you. Good balance of serious art people and school kids inside keep it from feeling too overwhelming
Not a huge fan of the style of most of the pictures in here but the museum itself was fine
There are lots of fun adventures to be had outside of the gallery (protests, live performances, music, art etc)! And for the low price of free this museum should not be missed! The interior is lavish with lots of famous works, erring towards the older stuff.
Very interesting and could easily spend a full day here
Amazing collection of paintings across all genres and periods. There's are many rooms and you can truly get lost going from one section to the next.
A great collection! Lots of safety procedures put in place due to the current climate. I felt safe and it wasn t too busy as I had booked a slot. Close to lots of restaurants and transport links. Right on Trafalgar Square! Fab.
Absolutely love coming here, loads of beautiful art.
Loved the cute kids exhibits. Anything hands on to help them learn is a great idea
Wonderful exhibitions
Beautifully curated
If you love Art, you will spend an entire day in the Gallery. From Caravaggio, Monet, Van Gogh, Degas and many more famous artists, genres of artwork from religious artwork to French Impressionists, you will spend so much time wandering the varied rooms. I recommend spending the 10 Pounds having the audio guide as they are invaluable.
Free entry which is good, donations are encouraged. A beautiful building with lots of exhibits to look at. Cafe inside, which is a bit pricey but still very good and friendly staff. Gift shops for all your museum goodies.
This is an educational must. To see Monet, VanGough right before your eyes is awe inspiring.
One of the best museums I have ever been in. The pieces of art I have seen here, will never leave my mind. The building itself is gorgeous and the way the gallery's are arranged, are nice to look at. I did not really expect to find van Gogh here, but I was pleased nonetheless. But because of the fact that the building is quite big, you can find yourself lost pretty easily. Buying a map comes in pretty handy and it is a small price to pay, as you don't have to pay an entrance fee. All in all is this a must see for anyone planning to visit London.
Fascinating insight into the history of portraiture. Marvel over portraits of British royalty as well as renown historical leaders and famous people. The oldest portrait in the gallery dates from the early 16th century and depicts a likeness of Henry Vll.
We had an amazing time looking around the Leonardo Da Vinci exhibition today and looking at all of the beautiful paintings :)
Magnificent art place, worth to see, even one whole day there might be a good choice
Always very enjoyable but some favourite galleries closed for refurbishment, and I'd not checked
If you don't gave a lot of time, just look at a couple of areas as it is huge, i liked the brief explanation at the side of the pictures, don't be put off thinking 'it's too fancy' just enjoy some great pictures. don't forget to look at the beautiful ceiling too
