One of the best museums in London. A wide range of artworks, including some favourites from Monet, Renoir, Manet, and Van Gogh as well as Da Vinci and Raphael. Best to arrive as soon as it opens to have time to explore before the crowds and school trips arrive, it can get really busy.
Is an amazing place to visit , an unique experience... You get to see the original paintings of great painters dating from 1200-1900
I have lived in this city since many years, I am proper local and I will never be sick of visiting all over again galleries like this one. If you have the chance take time to visit also the portrait one almost behind the main entrance.
My number one place to visit, not to be missed especially if you are an art lover. its so huge and so rich that i went two times and next time i visit London i will probably go again. Make sure to spare at least 4 hours for this place.
Well organised chronological Works of art. Beautiful. V clean toilets and nice cafe. The latte needed a bigger shot of coffee though.
Poor queue as people at the back of the queue allowed to jump to the front. Masks not enforced inside and too many people with mask below nose or around chin. One woman inside coughing everywhere and staff never approached.
Although not a huge fan of the modern work, the Victorian work was excellent. Beautiful gallery
By far one of the busy art museums in Europe. It has very knowledgeable staff that are excited to talk to you about the art. Also IT IS FREE. I love that it makes art accessible to everyone. Go see the Toilet de Venus. She s beautiful.

It's a must to see in London an excellent day out or even do it in the few stages, it's a free to enter but there are few private or paid exhibition which I highly recommend
I could easily spend all day here. Mesmerising collection, excellent staff. A top London venue and with the benefit of Trafalgar Square right outside. Wonderful place to kill some time.
Better than the Tate modern. Then again that's not saying much.
Always easy to spend at least half a day or longer. Well signed and easy to navigate. A must see for visitors or locals alike!

Impressive, I found the building more impressive than anything in it.
Fantastic gallery, not too big to trek around unlike Tate Modern, and loads of fantastic art! Really lovely cosy cafe overlooking Trafalgar Square, with very yummy food and good coffee.

a free attraction, with nice art inside. so, students looking for free attractions to save some travel money can look at this. it's vast with lots of artwork. look out for van gogh's works

Lovely place to just wander around, it feels like you'll never run out of things to look at.
The last time I was here, I was rather drunk and spent ages telling a painting that it was frightfully ugly. A security guard asked me to leave. I sobered up instantly and showed him who he was messing with. KEY-EYE!
NB. Turned out the painting was of his mum. Oops.
It was a very quick visit but I had good company. So it was fun. Staff were helpful. Wouldn't definitely go back when I have more time.
Lot of exquisite art in the London national gallery.
Amazing place, you can get lost easily amongst all those art pieces. Prepare yourself, whole day will not be enough to even see all of them.
Went here with my family entry is completely free and the museum itself has a variety of different types of things to do and look at.
Great artwork and nice atmosphere at this museum. As most of London's hot spots, it tends to be crowded. Had a great time visiting the museum and seeing some of the world's most famous works by Seurat, van Gogh, Jan van Eyck, Leonardo da Vinci and many, many others. Even if you're not into art, it's a great place to visit and see some of these works personally; I won't ever forget how I felt when I first saw van Gogh's sunflowers here.

Do NOT take audio guide. Its extra charge, and regardless that on almost every item there is sign that there is audio description available is not. For me it worked on literally 3 paintings that I was interested. Waste of money.

Amazing range of paintings, although most of them are historical so don't expect to find much modern stuff here. Given that entry is free, you need to evaluate whether or not it's worth spending your time here. And the National Gallery is definitely worth your time, as there is enough to interest you for hours.
If you fail to find inspiration here you may be suffering from the lack of a brain stem and should see a doctor. And it s all for free (except the temporary exhibitions)
One of the best galleries in the world. Free admission. In the centre of London and close to many other attractions, buses, the Underground and Charing Cross station. Not to be missed!
Now, I ain't say this enough, but this be some god danged good ol' gallery if I ever done seen one. You may be thinking things such as: this is a gallery, and god dang it would you be right in that case. There be some good pictures, sometimes referred to as "paintings", in this gallery. I like them old John Constable paintings, damn they are beautiful and representative of how life used to be for the common working folk. Dang ol' I tells ya hwat, go to this gallery and see them nice paintings man.
Exceptional and extensive collection of paintings from world-renowned artists. Enjoyed viewing Chris Ofili's artwork "The Caged Bird's Song" in the Sunley room. The vibrant hanging tapestry contrasts really well with the other subdued elements painted, from floor to ceiling, on to the four walls of the room.
Could walk around here for hours, but sadly only a quick visit. I ll be back.
A world-class collection. The single best possibility for a day in the UK. Thought and care needed to avoid the crowds. They really should charge for admission. A pity about the horrible experience of walking out to a wall of noise from the loudspeaker buskers in Trafalgar Square.

Great collection of greatest art work. Impressionists made my day - Monet, Degas, Pissarro, Cezanne - you name them. One day is not enough though.

Visit was to see Gainsborough's Family Album, which was well set out and very interesting.
A light lunch was then taken in the Cafe which was delicious and good value and not crowded.
Lots of famous painting and lovely huge ones too. The architecture of the building is great too

The National Gallery is perfect in every way. It handles crowds with ease. Although there were thousands of visitors in the gallery; viewing the wonderful collection could be carried out in quiet enjoyable solitude.

Simply the best place to see some of the greatest artists in history. Sit and gaze at a Monet or meander past a Turner or two you won't be disappointed
Very large museum with large variety of pictures. You can spend a half day there or about two-three hours.
