Just a great gallery with a wide range of paintings from many different time periods. Especially loved seeing some Rembrandt pieces. Spent a good part of two days here and there's still more to see. But I am a bit of an art nerd who spends a lot of time looking at each piece.

Lots of very famous and special art pieces of talented artists
Some of the most monumental paintings in our world by artists like Monet or Van Gogh are portrayed here
The museum itself is equally beautiful having very high ceilings and just a very elegant style
A highlight for me is the room in which paintings of artists are portrayed over a limited time, during both of my two visits I was impressed with these artworks, one of them being the picture attached to this review
In summary this museum is a definite place to visit when in London if you're interested in art

Probably my favorite art gallery. The collection is staggering in range and value. There's a lot of famous paintings there, including many renaissance artists and impressionists. The collection is so big, I'd recommend researching before your visit so you can plan what you want to see. Photography is allowed but as usual, no flashes or tripods.

Some amazing works of art on display. It can be a bit overwhelming on a single visit. To get the most out of the gallery I recommend several visits of a couple of hours at a time. I highly recommend a visit to all.

The National Gallery is one of my favourite spaces. Standing in front of these artworks transports and opens up my thoughts on time and on perspective of all kinds. So much beauty, thought, skill and history. A place to witness changes (and not changes) over the passage of time.

If you go during the week, you'll be treated to an invaluable piece of history without the massive crowds. Although technically 'free', I emplore anyone to chuck them a bit of cash if you can, it's worth it.

It's amazing what we have in the heart of London, for free!! Were you into painting, drawing or not, there is so much to learn from a visit to the National Gallery. Take a year, a painter, an era, explore each room and admire different techniques used by amazing artists from around the world at different periods of time. Recommended for families with youngsters who are into the arts.

A day is not enough to truly take in all the masterpieces on display here. And many a day after won't be enough to appreciate and process the fact that you've witnessed a real Rembrandt or Van Gogh. That's how I feel, at least. Remarkable collection and a mesmerising experience. Take your time when visiting and let all the beauty and talent sink in and inspire you.

I loved it ,it's actually amazing! It's a free gallery like many public cultural places in London. Their collection is outstanding and it's well organized. There are artworks of Paul Rubens and Caravaggio and of many more original and wonderful artists. The gallery has also got a small restaurant with reasonable prices and tasty snacks for everyone. I saw people go there not only to relax or eat but also to work as it has a very relaxing atmosphere. The bathrooms are clean and the gift shops also have interesting things and some on sale too for those on a budget.

My favorite free- entry museum in London...every time I visited London I always made sure I have some time spent here with painting... i didn t necessarily understand them... but as a normal human being I love how paintings telling stories through one frame after another.... as one windows aft another and through which we gaze into other worlds, in the eyes of the artists.

Absolutely breathtaking! Can't believe it took me so long to go there but I finally did recently and it's been beautiful. There's some magic about the art in the gallery, an art lover could literally spend hours there without even looking at the time. Gorgeous artwork.

Overall great place to look at art especially if you're an artist, I would recommend everyone to look at the smaller paintings, because they are overlooked for the bigger ones. One of the small paintings that I love is the painting of Queen Victoria's Charles Spaniel is one of the most beautiful paintings I have seen.
Wouldn't recommend going on a date with someone to the gallery unless they like looking at art, and I do recommend you discuss about the paintings as you move along the gallery, as it will be a magical experience , because you get to engage with your surroundings along with your partner.

Breathtaking art in glorious condition. Colours so vibrant, detail unsurpassed.
Amazing to be able to get up so close to enjoy and marvel at the detail and patience exhibited by the artists.

Fantastic collection of pictures. A great few days could be spent here but unless you are a student if art it is easy to get overwhelmed. Worth thinking about what you particularly want to see to be able to plan visit. Set out by periods, 20-40 years in general but specific artists have own areas.
Special exhibitions can get very crowded, especially in the Sainsbury wing. Worth looking for not such popular times e.g. 16:00 on a Tuesday.

The national gallery has an amazing collection of famous classic, romantic and impressionist painters. I am not an expert in art but I really like the museum and staff are really helpful if you have any questions. I would recomend the museum for a rainy day in London. It is also a place not to miss for a one time visit to London.

Definitely worth a visit.

Definitely worth a visit.
The exhibition is world-class, you can see works of famous artists like Van Gogh, Rembrandt, Rubens, da Vinci and many more famous works.

Entrance is completely free and Gallery is positioned right in the middle of popular part of London, not vlpaying a visit would be a real shame.
As you get the chance to compare all the world famous art pieces.
