What with covid there are no people. So now it's a wonderful place to be. You can spend ages looking at all your favourites, and go through the exhibition without being elbowed out the way by people taking selfies.

Culture and history under one roof. See some of the world's master pieces. Holbien's The Ambassdors and Paul Delarouche's The Execution Of Lady Jane Grey are but two of my favour paintings. You can spend all day.

Love the collection! I got an audio-guide with a list of top 80 must see arts but it was too hard to follow. The arts were not listed in any logical order so I had to waste my time figuring out whether I am in the right room and whether a top art is located there. They could improve by listing them in a chronological order!

Wonderful art but a little austere and old fashioned. I had been to the Tate Modern the previous day and that was much more laid-back. It was a Saturday when I visited the National and it was extremely busy so perhaps the problem was the huge number of people. One security lady shouted "no flash" twice across the room where she was on duty causing as much distraction as the guy taking the photos. In the Monet exhibition the security guy there told a woman to put her phone away even though she was only using it to make notes (I suppose she might have been a secret floor photographer or perhaps she was after a selfie with the ceiling). Art - wonderful, restaurant food - wonderful, atmosphere - not so good because of the security staff. I don't get to go to London often and, over the years, I have had several very enjoyable days at the Tate Modern. This was my first visit to the National and I don't think I will be going back again.

A month ago, I went to see the art collection of Monet and the admission was free. It was a great experience for me. It's an amazing place where you can enjoy the Modern art, beautiful paintings and portraits. I intend to visit the Rembrandt's exhibition these days. I'm sure it's worth seeing.

Absolutely stunning collection of masterworks. Took my breath away. As an artist, it was a visually thrilling & exhausting experience. I had to come back a second time.
I'd go everyday if I could :)

Absolutely one of the must-see structures in all of London. I mean what is a better representative of the city of London than Big Ben itself?! There are so many awesome views of Big Ben and the Palace of Westminster from all different directions. Not only can you get up close and personal under Big Ben near Parliament Square and snap endless photos of/with it, but there are also great photo spots afar on Westminster Bridge, The Queen's Walk and especially overhead on the London Eye! Just a side note in that the area around the Palace of Westminster is quite crowded so you just have to watch where you are walking as not only will you most likely be taking photos of/with Big Ben, but plenty of other people will be too.

I love religious art, and was stunned to see so very many beautiful pictures. To cap it off, I wass thrilled to see The Ugly Duchess by Quentin Matsys. The docile are good, the building itself windchill. The fact that it is free (donations welcome) is amazing.

Oh my, how to describe The National Gallery except to say it is a national treasure!!! I am a Londoner and when my soul is in need of some artistic stimulation I potter along to The National. Free entry! Late night openings (please check), events, exhibitions and family arty activities (some carry a charge). Honestly, it's wonderful. The architecture is a sight to behold itself. It defies belief that one can wander through galleries filled with historic art, separated from it only by a short distance - with blue rope. The facilities are superb, lovely cafes (slightly pricey) and nice bathrooms. I go often, so should you!!

If you want to truly enjoy your visit, plan your days. What I did, because I was in a rush, I googled what's the most important that I need to see inside. Each section is worthy spending the whole day there. You'll find the amazing works of some of the most famous artists in the world - all this for free. At the entrance you can leave your donation, of course if you wish. Also there is a free WiFi available.
