I was taken here for a lunch interview, and I was very impressed with quality of food and how well-kept it is. It is a little old fashioned, but that goes with the feel. It's the type of place you can go for a nice bite, but be prepared to spend a little more than your average meal, but I fully believe that the meals here are worth it.

Went there for happy hour. The place was hopping. Staff was helpful, but the drinks and the appetizers are rather expensive (25 for a 4 shrimp cocktail). However, everything was very tasty.

Had an absolutely outstanding dinner last night! Our server Louey was amazing. Our party ordered 2 34 oz porter houses and 2 10 oz wagyu filets. Evening started out with a delicious lemon drop and a met manhattan, which was outstanding. Ordered the lobster Mac and cheese which was to die for. From beginning to end was an absolute wonderful experience!!

One of the best steaks we've ever eaten. 10oz wagyu filet was enough for two people to split, along with sides and salads. Loved the mashed potatoes and caesar salad. Did not love the brussel sprouts.

Fantastic atmosphere especially in the bar. Food is great and the staff is so helpful with suggestions. We visited 2 times just to go back and try the apple pie. This deconstructed dessert is prepared table side with house made cookies and More

My wife isn't a huge steak person, and even she loves this place. Whatever you order -- and honestly, you probably can't go wrong with anything on the menu -- do yourself a favor and pair it with the Metropolitan mashed potatoes. (You're welcome.)

Giving 3 stars because for the price, service and food should be much finer than it is. Capital Grill and other houses are doing a much better jjob at delivering this high end price experience for steak houses in Seattle. If you want to impress by dropping a grand plus for a client meal or such, it will suffice. But I could recommend several other venues for the money that will be much superior.
The Bar however is a bit of a treat and enjoyable enough for a drink or two.

Best steak house in the city. The ohmi steak is unbeatable, the service is quintessential classic American along, with the atmosphere. The lunch prices are also incredible reasonable for the portions. You will always leave full and happy when eating at the met.

The service was exceptional and much of my meal (the asparagus, caramel bacon, and caesar salad) were great in appearance and taste, but the wagyu steak I ordered was for sure not up to par with what I am used to. I ordered the Snow Beef, and I am almost certain I received the Ohmi steak instead. The taste was far more similar to Ohmi and while tender did not have the utter buttery taste that Snow Beef or other better kuroge steaks than Ohmi usually exhibit. It was very watery tasting in the middle, and while it was medium rare, that shouldn't ever happen with an A5 steak. The taste was actually inferior to any prime i have had at a Ruth Chris or Fleming's, which should be impossible. the marbling, however, just didn't taste like it was there at all. I have only ever experienced this in Wagyu I have eaten outside of Japan. I imagine it is due to an issue with defrosting or the travel but it was very disappointing since the steak simply did not taste like an A5 grade Snow Beef. I do believe any of the other steaks in the restaurant would be a better choice. Even if I just had a bad apple of a steak, paying $130 for chance to have a less than avg wagyu steak isn't worth it. Go for the Snake River or any prime, it would undoubtedly taste better than the steak I had tonight and would cost a lot less.

Old school fancy with green velvet booths, lots of dark wood, and the waiters wear vests. I consider it stuffy, but everyone else considers it "nice". Food is great though, especially the steak. Their hamburgers are huuuuge (like the size of your face).

This was a delicious and educational experience. If you have any love for the carnivorous arts, you owe it to yourself to have a meal here. The staff are absolutely fantastic. The food, even better. The steak is as it should be - seared well, unadorned, left to bask in it's own gloriousness. You will spend a bit - but is worth every bit.

Mediocre food, excellent wait staff, poor atmosphere and horrible cleanliness summarizes my first and probably only experience here. Celebrated my 5th anniversary here, and I can not say money well spent... Our waiter was awesome, and wine was very good, everything else... not so great. We did receive a free dessert for our anniversary which was nice and very tasty, but for a $300 dollar meal... what's a $10 dessert. I do not recommend this place, accept for maybe dessert and drinks.

Absolutely delicious! Our server was friendly professional and on top of all our needs. We tried three different grades of beef including snow. What a treat. Then to finish the perfect evening with this amazing flourless chocolate cake filed with caramel. Oh, now I'm having a flashback of the texture and sweet goodness. Thank you!

This place is wonderful! Meat is really good, and althoug there isnt too much choices, there is always something good to choose. If you want to try but you dont want to pay a lot, the happy hour is perfect.
One thing that you have to try being here are the cakes, about 7 layers!

They say it's the best steak in town and I'd have to agree. Lots of options for cut and size, turf selections, premium liquor, excellent service, and a bumpin happy hour. A Seattle tradition for more than 30 years!

The food here is top quality as is the service and ambiance. They have a great wine collection and a wine steward for more complex questions. One of the best steak houses I have been to. Anywhere. Not cheap - but worth it.

So I gotta give a hail out to our attendant Michael Smith. He tended to our needs, perfect host and great conversation. He was really proud of working at the Metropolitan Grill and he spoke highly of the owners. That told me a lot, because from that conversation you picked up that the owners take care of their people.

This restaurant is amazing. Located in the heart of downtown Seattle, not far from Smith Tower. Their wine selection is huge, while dessert choices were small. But the food, oh boy let's talk about the food. Both entrees (Lamb and Steak) were delicious. Cooked to perfection. The lamb course actually serves 2 people, but they were amenable to serve me half. Their sides were decadent. I definitely recommend the lobster mac n cheese. We did not get dessert because we were full, but I would recommend you saving room for dessert. Depending on the type of dessert you choose, the server will do a last minute prep to the dessert at your table.

Although the restaurant was upscale and the staff wore formal wear, we saw patrons wearing from across the spectrum. So dont be perturbed if you're worried you may not be dressed fancy enough. The website does specify dress code so you can make your dinner experience what you want it to be.

I m astounded that The Metropolitan Grill has only 4.7 stars. It is simply the finest quality steak house I ve ever been to. I d give the 10 stars if I could. Every time I try another steak house I leave wishing I would have just gone back to the met grill.

Keep up the good work!

Honestly, this is the best steak I've ever had. If you have the opportunity to try any of their steaks, you cannot go wrong. Also, their bacon appetizer is a great meld of sweet and savory buttery goodness.

Me and my friend were visiting Seattle and decided to try this place out from reviews. We had a 15 min wait for the table. Finally at the table, we waited for 15 minutes and still no one to take orders. We informed the front desk and left the place.

Great wine selection. Marginal service and food. Sat us under an air conditioning vent and then sorta forgot about us. Seemed like a lot of celebrations going on. Maybe if we had told them we were celebrating, it would have been a better experience. Overrated.

In my experience Met holds different value depending on the patron. For those looking for a swanky time in a classically fashionable establishment, the Metropolitan Grill is your place. With locally curated desserts (sourced within WA) and well-executed specials, the food compliments the decor nicely. (Also, it's a pretty safe bet for spotting celebrities) If you aren't looking for a fancy time and want a no-frills kind of dining experience, you might want to pass. Some people really like it and others call it a tourist trap.

If you are celebrating a special occasion or nothing in particular you can't go wrong with desserts and drinks at the Met. The service is impeccable and the drink and dessert menu is simply exceptional.
