Stopped in here by chance on a day layover before heading to Alaska. I didn't know that my luck was that good! Go ahead, splurge...it's worth every penny!!

Superb steaks and service. Great beer selection. Very expensive, but worth it.
Great food, great happy hour. Looks like the bar could use some TLC.
The atmosphere and food are amazing! Dress ranges from nice casual to white-tie. Dinner for two will run anywhere from $125-$200 after drinks. I highly recommend the Citrus Mojito (nonalcoholic) and the tableside service (for two) for both More
Had the roast beef sandwich for lunch w/ the onion soup. Incredible.
The only down side? I had to leave and go back to work
Every member of the wait staff was attentive, and made us feel like we were the most important customers they had. And of course the food was great!
Delicious food, great service, can't wait to go back
I m from Maine, and I love my seafood and I know I shouldn t, but I absolutely love batter fried seafood. I went to the Metropolitan Grill and I said you don t have any fried seafood on the menu. Would you cook me up a Seafood Platter, and they said yes, and they brought me the most spectacular plate of seafood I ve had since I left Maine and they charged me such a reasonable price!!! This is an awesome restaurant.
The wine menu is pretty much a novel. Absolutely incredible selection.
The steak I ordered was probably the best steak I have ever had.
The service here is impeccable and the staff make sure you are comfortable and go above and beyond for you.
It is expensive here, but it is the perfect restaurant to go to on your anniversary, birthday, graduation, or anything other event worth going out to celebrate for!
Excellent experience! Awesome service with even better food.
Expensive, but always excellent. Michael was a great server
I m waiting for the bus. Looking in the window of metropolitan grill on 2nd & Marion. The waitress is wiping off tables with the SAME rag she s using to wipe off the set silverware as she goes. Oh & now stops to wipe computer screen, back to wiping knives... she sees me watching, smiles & continues. Yuck!
I made online reservation and drove from vancouver for cerebrate special occasion (birthday)
I expect to get any compliment from there as steak house in vancouver but got nothing .
So, i dont know why do i have to fill special occasion for?
Everything was so disappointed
Steak was so rough , clam showder and lobster cream soup was so salty i couldnt even eat second spoon but server was so nice i dont want to say anything but ok.. good... hmmm
Later i orderd 9 layers chocolate cake. As i expected is 9 different kind off chocolate in 9 layes like mousse dark choc, white choc, etc.
But.... i got 9layes super rough and sweet cake with poor vanila icecream with a lot of piece of ice in icecream and nothing even candle or something written on a dish (like happy birthday)
I recommend not to ask for any special occasion if you do nothing
I have to pack it up all i couldnt eat it
Actually, i would like to pay more tips as i paid for other place but i have to reduce due to taste of food
Great place. Great food, great atmosphere all around.
Took the wife here for our anniversary on the recommendation of a friend and I'm glad I did. Easy valet parking right out front so that was convenient during the rainy night. The place was busy but not too loud that it made conversation difficult. The food was fantastic, we both got the prime rib and it was flavorful, the veggies perfectly cooked and the scalloped potatoes were excellent. What made the meal even better was our waitress Dohui who was very personable, warm and made you feel welcomed unlike other high-end establishments where some waiters come across as cold and unfriendly. Highly recommend this place.
My wife and I went here for our anniversary. The food was excellent and the service just as good.
On the pricey side so plan ahead if you are on a budget and start saving. We enjoyed our evening and it was worth every penny for such a wonderful experience.
We had a pre-wedding dinner party here, and it was a spectacular experience. I say experience because it really is more of an experience than anything else. It was quite spendy for the group of eight of us, but it was well worth it. We ended up spending four hours there, and never once felt rushed by the server. We had a slew of different meals, from steak to seafood to salads, and ended up sharing with each other, and it was all amazing.
Always wonderful!!
Stay classy Seattle!! Very affordable considering how fancy this place is!
We had the Filet, 8oz and 12oz i believe. Both cooked to perfect Med and Med Well as requested. The steak was juicy and flavorful! I had the oscar on it and it was...just good. Sides where mashed potatoes and fat joe joes. Both were taisty. The atmosphere was classy. It was warm and comfortable but lacked the view that i personally would want being in this city! Food and drinks were great, staff was friendly and on point. Atmosphere was bit dated and felt like in a city where nothing to see outside.
Love this a as lunch spot. Top steak house in country. They have a $13 lunch combo. Sit in bar and you can make it an efficient lunch. Good people watching
The bar gets a bit loud because it's so packed, but the service remains great with attentive staff.
One of my favorite restaurants,I come here every week and always enjoy it.
Popular, upscale restaurant. Nice place for a business lunch. Quiet enough to carry on a conversation.
It is one of those institutions that has been in Seattle for long time and you won t be disappointed. We so look forward to coming here to celebrate special occasions and we always have the best experience. The food and service are exceptional.
Staff were excellent! Some of the food was not so good for the price. My wife had salmon which was dry and tasted fishy. I had the prime rib which was ok but not the best I have had. Salads and onion rings were excellent. Most likely will not return though for the cost and the quality we received.
Amazing food! Expect to pay money though. Well worth it though I may add!
The steak is very salty and the taste is ordinary, this is my personal subjective comment. But this restaurant is not friendly to Asians, which is the biggest problem and the reason why I give it a star. I dine in the evening of January and I booked a total of four people early. There are two types of seats in the restaurant, table (small) and booth (large and comfortable). At that time, the restaurant booth had multiple locations, and no other guests were taken to the middle table, even if there were only two. However, the subrogator brought our four adults into the small table. After reflecting the results, he said that he would ask us if the counter could be changed. After observation, the guests after us were taken directly to the booth to sit until the booth was full. Really disappointed with this unfriendly restaurant.
The beef is very salty, and it is common, but this is my personal feeling and generally I would not judge on it. The reason why I review 1 star is this restaurant NOT Friendly to Asian. I went to here in Jan, and booked four people. The restaurant has two different seats, table (small) and booth (big and comfortable). When I arrived, there are still several several booths available, and all the other customers sit on the booth, even they were only two people. However, the host only provide us, four adults, in a small table. We requested whether we could change to the booth, the host said he had to check with the reception, and finally agreed. After our observation, all the other customer after us were arranged to the booth directly, until the booth was full. I feel really disappointed for their unfriendly manner.
Classy, wonderful place. The service is exemplary, the food and drink are fantastic! It isn't cheap but it doesn't pretend to be. It is elegant!
I love it!
Service was great. Potato cakes were recommended by a friend, got them with a filet and thought they were excellent. Coconut cake also was great for dessert. Looking forward to going back.
If you want a fine good meal, this is the place to experience. Their selection of aged steaks is very impressive but moreover their staff is highly knowledgeable about how the food is prepared, what your preferences are and help guide you along. The Seafood is equally expansive with many local options. A must visit.
I promised to treat myself to the best steak in Seattle, and I was not disappointed. I got the crab cocktail and the 25 ounce porterhouse. Both were incredible. I can't recommend this place enough. I will absolutely be returning on the near future.
Whenever I visit Seattle, I try to visit the Metropolitan Grill for that one, kinda heavy meal. Their steaks are remarkable. The potato was very freshly baked and served with a nice roquefort sauce and sour cream. Some things should probably never change.
Had dinner at the bar area, the staff was really knowledgeable and informative of all the food and wine!
Service was excellent and the food was very well prepared and plenty of it.
This restaurant serves the best steak I've ever tasted. Their dessert menu is worth it. The service is great.
I had the salmon, and it was mouth watering! Wonderful and attentive service as well.
One of my favorite steakhouses in Seattle. Always a treat to eat there.
My experience last week at the Metropolitan Grill was incredible. The staff did a great job serving our table making sure we were taken care of. The steaks and lamb we ordered were cooked perfectly! The rack of lamb is an item everyone should try! Thank you Metropolitan Grill for a great evening!
Metropolitan Grill has a very special place. The waiters you see in the shop are all grandpas and grandmothers. You can't see young handsome guys or waitresses. I do n t know if it s the image intentionally created in the store, or if they are really long-serving, very experienced staff, but this feeling gives me a sense of inexplicable and kind of trust (however, their clothes are wearing Kiehl's Clerk).
Service was awesome! Tableside service by Craig exceeded our expectations.
Always a wonderful meal with superlative service and attention to detail.
I came out to Seattle with a group of friends and wanted a nice high end dinner. Based on the Google reviews we had to try this steak house. We were all truly disappointed with our meals. I had the signature dry aged and it was a horrible cut and extremely chewy. The only positive side of the meal was the mushrooms side dish which was fantastic! This was way over priced and I don't recommend it.
One of the best steakhouses in Seattle. They have a great lunch menu as well with many meals under $20. I had the steak sandwich for lunch today. Service was great! Parking garages are about a block away, but they have valet parking after 5.
Fantastic food and great drinks.
I sat at the bar and enjoyed the steak.
Decided for a Old Fashioned, which was great, the ice was served wothout air incspsulation which makes them see throw. Great selection of Bourbon and the Malbec wine with the steam was also very good.
To add to that, the bartender was also very forthcoming and I had a great time ending up spending $330 just for me. Totally worth it for the steak and the great drinks.
I definitely would recommend it and go there again.
Steaks are good. Service is great. Venue is nice but can be noisy
Girls night out ended with a feast. Excellent service with wonderful food. (But I still prefer El Guacho, Tacoma)
It is a steakhouse that comes out whenever you ask a local friend for a recommended steakhouse. Reservations are mandatory for dinner, but you can also have delicious steaks at the bar counter. I chose 12oz for the New York Strip, but could I just put in 16oz with my spirit! It is juicy and tender meat that makes you think. There are various kinds of alcohol, and local IPA is also recommended at this time. $ 100 / person is a high-end store, but worth it. This is a shop that you will definitely return to if you go to Seattle.
I had the cheese steak sandwich and it was amazing, the staff was very kind and the service was prompt.
I've been all over the world to 40+ country's and who knew I'd find such a perfect steak in Seattle! Marvelous!
Seated within 10 minutes of reservations, nice quiet comfortable booth. Classic old world steakhouse- velvet booths. Service very good. Food good, but I have had better steaks- Keen s in NYC and Gibson s in Chicago are way better. Scallop appetizer was excellent. We split a NY strip, asparagus, roasted mushrooms, all good but luke warm temperature- would have been so much better if food was hot. We didn t want to send back and wait. Food good- but I would recommend asking for food piping hot. Service was excellent.
Great thoughtful staff! Mac and cheese is the best in the PNW and the way Craig does dessert is outstanding. Great memories there and more to come!
The Friday lunch special is Prime Rib and it was goooood! Simple and perfect serving size for lunch (didn't feel like a nap when I got back to the office.) Adding the crab cakes made it a makeshift surf & turf. I actually think lunch is a better value than dinner. There are better steaks to be had in the city for the price (sorry). But the lunch menu is solid and the service is fast. If you work downtown, it's a legit place to grab lunch like an adult..you know, instead of grabbing a plastic container to-go and eating at your desk. Get out and dine on proper tableware for goodness sake! Suggest making reservations - OpenTable is the answer.
Best anniversary dinner. You will leave full. Atmosphere is great.
Service was above outstanding. Diane was so kind, caring and friendly. She make an awesome best friend. As for the food, it was delicious. The steaks were cooked perfectly. The meat was tender, juicy and the taste was beyond just good. No, I wasn't paid to say this.
This this place features a cool bar and decor and is always packed. I recommend getting res as with most sushi places in Seattle that is decent. Get a same tasting and you can call it a day.
Excellent service. The food was stellar. The wine and drink list was robust and staff super helpful in selecting one. I took my wife for our anniversary. The filets was cooked perfectly and those mashed potatoes were to die for. They even treated us to a creme brulee to celebrate!
Fabulous fabulous fabulous.
Impeccable service. Fantastic cocktails. Glamorous (mid-century)ambience. Flavorful food.
Great for the occasional fancy lunch or dinner. Nothing on the menu is bad, but be prepared for a large portion.
This place is one of my favorites for lunch on the weekdays. Thursday is beef stroganoff day and it is absolutely delicious. Their steak salad and their open-faced steak sandwich are solid a go to any day of the week.
It's been awhile since I went in. I loved the beverages (we had a variety of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages). My mashed potatoes were way to garlicky. Service was great. My boyfriend enjoyed his dinner, but did end up getting sick for the next 24 hours.
My son's favorite steakhouse and the best in the northwest.
Most amazing meal I've ever had. Outstanding service and unbeatable quality.
Spendy but worth it. Quality food. Quality service. A great great dining experience. Best known for seafood but they have the best filet mignon in town. Great place to celebrate special occasions. Just remember to pay your credit card down before you get there.
Longbone steak is very delicious. Bigger, delicious and more expensive than the Outback Tomahawk.
Best steaks in seattle with a really strong wine list. Great pasta offerings if someone in your party is not a meat eater. Desserts are huge.
The attention to detail, to the food and service is amazing. Our daughter has food allergies and our server, Goodall, made sure she would have the best choice for dinner. It may have been a simple grilled chicken with fettuccine Alfredo but our daughter thought it was the best she's ever had. We appreciate the attention given. This was our second time here and plan to return.
