As I didn't have my dog with me my friend and I were able to eat in the restaurant and it was a very pleasant experience, we both enjoyed our food, the staff were very pleasant and the setting perfect. There have been some alterations and a 2nd disabled toilet added since I was last there, most welcome addition

We had a reasonable meal at the Ancient Mariner, but a few things stop it getting 5 stars... there was a queue at the bar with only 1 person serving despite lots of other staff mulling about... seemed a bit lapse in cleaning up tables, More

Nice friendly pub with good views. (I imagine they would be even better in summer on the decking!)

Food was okay, somewhat pricey for what it was, but still tasty.

Standard choices of drink.

Covid standards were good, food was left on the table for us to take ourselves, same goes for the drinks. The waiter looked after us from a social distance.

Today I celebrated my birthday with 11 members of my family at lunch time at the Mariners the food was good and served in 20 mins, the staff were friendly and helpful accommodating such a big group. A good experience.

The service was shocking with staff confused as to if, where & what we could eat, and seemingly unable to pull a pint - one guy had to be rescued by the one seemingly very capable lady who was spread a little to thin. Five meals ordered with one arriving 5 minutes late. The food itself was moderately expensive 'ping food' - a couple of items actually ok, but generally mediocre. However location excellent.

Some have said average pub food. The menu might be standard/average but the quality is a step up from most pubs. We had several meals here and all were excellent. Great burgers, really above average Turkey roast, great veggie courses. Teeny bit pricey but no complaints as the quality was very good. We are pretty hard to please when eating out so 5 stars from us is high praise.

Decent ale. Food ordering abysmal. Stopped taking orders for meals for 20 minutes. Should have taken orders and explained to customers a delay should be expected. Lost our custom as well as other frustrated customers unhappy with arrangement.

Used a 50% off voucher and the food was good value with that-not sure I would've been happy to pay full price.Lovely eating in the restaurant which is clean and nicely set out .Would struggle with the service if the place was busy!!

Food is certainly nothing above the very ordinary, however, the service is friendly and polite, beer is well kept, there s loads of room inside and out, and the sea view from the beer garden is the best in Hunstanton by a long way.

Have had some ropey meals here and some that weren't too bad. The place often seems to be run by kids who aren't too sure of what they are doing. Represents reasonable value for money when the discount vouchers are used, I wouldn't be happy paying full price there.

Right next to the beach, lovely on a summers day. Only gets four as they no longer do Aspalls cider or a good alternative. Staff are friendly, covid 19 restrictions are handled well. Dog friendly.

Great views on a nice evening, watching the sun go down with a pint or two!
Good range of beers and a decent selection of food. Food is good, but nothing really outstanding.
One of our favorites in the area, and dog friendly!

Stopped by for lunch whilst walking the beach, lovely surroundings, sat outside with the kids and dog, friendly bar staff, swift service, fresh food, all 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals, burgers, fish and lasagne & our drinks, we will def be back.

Very disappointed with our visit today. We have been going here for meals for quite a few years now. The service was extremely slow, even though it was a Monday lunchtime. We expect the slowness in the height of summer but not the middle of March. The bar was unattended quite often also. The steak pie special was of very poor quality as it was hunt the pieces of meat, 4 tiny pieces in a whole pie !!! definitely not "special"

Food was OK and coffee was good. However this was completely let down by poor service. Everything was brought out piecemeal and we had to continuously ask for the missing items. Noone looking after the outdoor area appeared to be in charge and our repeated requests appeared to just be entirely ignored. Following this it took 4 requests to actually get the bill and then pay. Really disappointing.

Good views of the sea and sunsets, good value if you use their 50% vouchers in the local papers. Waitress service in the sunset room or order at the bar (same menu) dogs allowed inside the new conservatory.

Large chain pub in small village. Pricey and limited food choice. Food quality very average, just about worth the cost with one of their 50% discount vouchers that they spread around local holiday parks. I'd have been very disappointed if I'd paid full menu price.
