Popped in for a drink. We wanted to sit outside. However although we found a table it was piled high with dirty glasses and someone's dirty meal plates. They were not cleared. So we moved them and had our drinks and left, with the dirty glasses and crockery still to one side.

Brilliant and thank you to all of the staff who made our evening so enjoyable. We are regulars at the Ancient Mariners and the meals are on average ok. Just like everywhere else they have off days. No problem make a complaint and it is sorted. No problems here.

Disappointed with menu as it had been cut down and was all with chips apart from the curries. The reason given was because of safety of staff in the kitchen due to COVID. There were only 2 sweets to choose from plus ice cream. I have been told their sister hotel at Kings Lynn still has a full menu.

Friendly staff, good pub food at reasonable prices. Dog friendly areas but also areas where you can get away from the dogs if you aren't a fan. But it's definitely the staff that makes this place special (and the views!)

Tasty food, very quick service, friendly staff and beautiful views over the lawns to the the sea. My fish & chips was beautifully fresh and a creamy texture. We'll definitely be going back!

This has been my second visit to this astablishment and this time was a very serious let down... Arrived, staff not to meet and greet, we selected our own table as we were not taken to a table.. Waited well over 8 minutes before a member of our group went to get service as meals were delivered to other nearby tables.. We were then told that all orders are to be made at the bar.. How with NO MENU'S AT THE TABLES... Finally got our drinks brought to our table (separately delivered that is) and by the time our milk for our coffee's arrived our coffee's were cold anyway... We stuck with the coffees and left... Will Not Be Returning to this place again

Having read good reviews, I was very keen to visit. Being as it was by the seaside I had expectations of a superbly fresh tasting fish and chips. Unfortunately, we were completely disappointed. It was the worst fish and chips I ve ever had. The cod looked grey and slimy and the chips tasted awful. Next time I ll go to the fish and chips bar on the seafront!

Excellent and plentiful food, service extremely good too, despite there being several large parties. The staff were very helpful and obliging. Bit of a queue for bar service but chatting to other customers made the time pass quickly.

Good food and an enjoyable place to eat with the family. Dogs are also welcome in the bar area, but not the carpeted area. If you want to eat in the main restaurant be sure to call ahead as they were always fully booked the first two attempts to eat there... and that was in late October!

We live locally, my son wanted to take me out for a mother's day lunch on Saturday 6th April, there was 7 off us we ate in the restaurant, the meal it's self was ok, but we had to go and help ourselves to sauces we wanted, as there was no one about to ask, my husband had to ask to have our table cleared and could we have the desert menu, which never arrived, so there loss as we just played the bill and left, was very disappointed as it was a special day

It's alright. A bit of a food travelator of a place whilst food is being served at peak times, but it does a great job of serving food quickly to the customers.

There is a free car park opposite the pub and also behind it that is used by the hotel as well.

The pubs main attraction is that it is next to a lovely beach and has great views out across the sea. It's a 2min walk down from the pub before you hit the sand.

Terrible service tonight, staff really horrible when we complained about incorrect order and basically blamed us for it despite having two different, but identically named dishes on the menu. Mistakes happen but staff rude and insulting. Awful as used to be a good place. An update for staff on basic customer service is definitely required.

My wife and I ate hear last evening, my wife had a chicken curry type dish(I can't remember the exact name of this) which just passed as OK. i had gammon and chips, the chips were limp and not nice, the gammon was unbelievably salty (never had one like it) no one came to see if all was ok, I did look to go and complain but there was a big queue at the bar so didn't bother.
