Stayed here twice now and it is absolutely always beyond expectations. Everyone is so kind and welcoming even the cleaning staff make you feel so welcome and always speak. Drayton restaurant is always good, Poseidon spa is amazing. Ray from the front desk went out of his way to make sure we had another bottle of wine even though we checked in long after room service had left for the night. He delivered to our room personally and even put a fruit bowl together for us. This is the kind of service you can expect. I personally garauntee there's no better way to experience Savannah

We have stayed there In 2012 and we are staying again tonight can't wait we enjoyed it. My wife really enjoyed the little shop they had last time.

I have hesitated writing this review because I'm not one to intentionally disparage any business. However, because it was my wedding, I feel it's necessary to get the word out.
It started when we tried to book the venue. We were able to get in touch with the coordinator Leslie initially, but after that it was nearly impossible. Voicemails were left un-returned, and even an attempt to contact her supervisor went without a response. Nearly 1 month went by without hearing anything back. It took us having to go to the Mansion in person to have some contact. Our wedding was a small, intimate group of those we love the most, leaving the cost of the affair to be the minimal charge. We were made to feel as though the staff were intentionally ignoring our calls/emails because they were holding out for a higher paying event. When they realized this wasn't so, they started being more communicative.
The day of the ceremony went well, until it came time for the reception in the Carriage Wine Cellar. After we were married and pictures were taken, we made our way up to where we were going to have dinner and the room was 90 degrees. They told us when we commented that the staff was waiting to turn on the air until we go into the room, instead of having it precooled for the wedding guests who were in dress shirts, jackets and not to mention wedding dresses. We then had about 20 minutes to talk to our guests and eat the appetizers we'd ordered for the party before I was pulled aside and was told that dinner was ready so we should be seated. We didn't feel like we had time to soak it in and enjoy the day.
Once dinner was served, the food was room temperature and the chicken was very dry. I will say that Leslie, the coordinator, worked with the kitchen to create a menu that fit our budget. But the entire thing felt thrown together last minute because we weren't spending more money. (I should mention that the ceremony, room, beer, food and tax was all about $7,000 so it wasn't a cheap affair. Also, we had friends and family staying at the hotel which upped the tab amount.)
Decorations that we bought and set up were kept by the mansion, along with our cake platter.
Our day, that should have been the most amazing day we've ever had, was diminished by feeling less than. I wouldn't recommend this venue for anyone planning a small, intimate event.
We are locals in Savannah, passing by the Mansion almost daily. It's a shame that we feel no emotional attachment to the place we chose to join together as wife and wife.

The rooms and facilities are gorgeous. We also love the location right on Forsyth Park next to the kids playground and splash pad. The only downside, which consistently let us down throughout our entire stay, was the poor (and sometimes rude) service. More details below:
1) At check in, they couldn t get the keycard to work after three different attempts. This is quite a tough entry to a hotel stay with two fussy children wailing at the hotel room door far beyond bedtime. The front desk person finally came up themselves and had to open the door to our hotel room. The entry key at the door was malfunctioning.
For our trouble, we asked for free parking so we could get the kids to bed ASAP. They heartily agreed. Fast forward to checkout, the parking was on the receipt. Apparently it hadn t been communicated to the other staff. It took a discussion to make it right.
2) They gave us breakfast meal tickets to use at the restaurant. Both the hotel front desk and the restaurant staff couldn t figure out if the breakfast meal tickets were worth $16 all together or $16 per person. After asking us to go back and forth (with a stroller and two kids and a wheelchair elevator that they couldn t get to work for us)...oh, and while I was mid-breastfeeding...the server at the restaurant finally volunteered to walk himself over to the front desk to ask how much the breakfast voucher was worth. He came back and let us know that it was $16 per person. We ordered accordingly and then were surprised when the bill came and the vouchers were worth $16 all together (or $8 per person). This was not good communication.
3) Finally, late check-out. We asked for late checkout when we checked into the hotel. They said yes, late check out at 4pm. We confirmed late checkout the day of our departure. Then, when we came back to the hotel for the kids nap a little after noon, there was a hotel staff person at our door asking why we had not checked out. We said we confirmed late checkout with the front desk this morning. He went away and we put the kids down for a nap. So, this comes to the reason I m writing the review. We just had two more people come into the room or knock loudly at the door, waking the kids up and saying that they were not informed that we had late checkout. To make it worse, one staff member said that if I m unhappy that they came by then the least I could have done is put a do not disturb sign on my door. Ok, I don t know where my do not disturb door sign is and couldn t find it. For some reason, we didn t have one in our room. So, she gave me one from an adjoining room. Either way, the kids are up from their nap cranky, we didn t get a chance to rest before a long drive out of Savannah, and this could have been avoided with better communication and more hospitality from the hotel staff.
Update: I ran into the the front desk manager at check out and she did a fantastic job listening and making amends for our experience. Next time, I ll contact the manager as soon as things start to go south; and I have faith that she ll address the issues. Because of this proper response, I would consider staying here again.

I will never stay at this property nor will I ever...
I will never stay at this property nor will I ever suggest anyone else to stay. My wife and I booked a room for the 5th of January back on December 8th. We were not going to make the trip so she cancelled the reservation on December 22nd. They "could not find" the cancellation and so charged us for the room. I went as far as contacting the owner of The Kessler Collection properties. I have been told I will not get my money back unless I can give them a cancellation number. The problem is the email the confirmation would have been sent to is no longer an active email and cannot be accessed. They have scammed me out of my money. They know they made a mistake but because I offered the information of not having the email access they have decided to take advantage of me. Our network of businesses consists of 74 companies. A total of 1,872 employees that travel throughout the year. I am notifying those companies to remove any Kessler property from their list of locations to book. I have not received word back from the owner so I can only assume he is not taking my situation seriously. The GM at The Mansion is horrible at customer relations and is running a dishonest hotel. I am letting anyone who reads this know The Mansion is not a location to spend your nights in Savannah Georgia. I suggest The Gastonian. My stay at that property was amazing.

I went to a cooking class at the cooking school in the Mansion on Forsyth Park. Chef Paul was knowledgeable and a great teacher. The experience taught me both new tricks for cooking as well as recipes and styles of cooking. I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in cooking classes.

The hotel is gorgeous and lavish with some of the most expensive pianos in the world. The location is attractive to tourists but is much more toned down than a waterfront location. The hotel lounge food was lackluster and the bar was expensive for the provided drinks. The hotel staff was friendly, yet the valets were slow and I had to request toiletries and towels numerous times. If you are a tourist who wants to appear as a local and reside in a beautiful hotel, this is the place for you! Be prepared to leave the hotel for nightlife and food options.

Wife made reservations that were not found when arrived (even after verifying the day prior). Customer service comped us a good rate on the deluxe suite for the trouble (which we appreciate) but the bathtub drain in that suite was broken meaning we missed out on THE key ammenity of the room
We were offered another room when I called the front desk but at that point it was almost 11pm and we'd moved in for our anniversary night.
We still had a nice time but expect a little better from a signature hotel. Two issues is one too many for a hotel of this caliber.

Stayed at the Mansion while celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary and we had a wonderful time! The staff was amazing from Gloria, the concierge, to Lauren at the front desk to Natasha on the Valet team. Everyone was always very pleasant and eager to help with questions. Even had champagne waiting for us in our room when we got back from our vow renewal ceremony which was a sweet surprise from Gloria! Highly recommend staying here!

Got the chef's special at the restaurant, wasn't that great. Overpriced food and a ridiculous $25 corking fee. The dress is supposed to be business casual so I didn't expect workout clothes and tennis shoes, shoes and t-shirts, but they were there.

We were here for our 5th anniversary. From start to finish, the service was impeccable, especially Kelly. She had a bottle of champagne and a hand-written card sent to our room to honor the celebration.
The whole building was so elegant. The room was the nicest we've been in. It is right in the middle of the historic district so we could walk or bike everywhere. There weren't any negatives to our stay at all (dinner at 700 Drayton was a disappointment, but that's for another review).
While it is very pricey, it was very much worth it if you want the ultimate experience. For us, it wasn't because of the luxury but more so because of staff members like Kelly that made our stay so memorable. Will definitely be back.

At first, we were placed in room 101 which is right next to the front desk, valet and employee lounge area. At 5:30 am we were awakened to employees taking very loudly outside our door. We called to complain to the front desk and they did quiet down. The next day we requested a more private room and were accommodated. Everything else had been pretty great.

My stay at mansion was great! Probably one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had! The front desk receptionists are very courteous and polite and will go leaps and bounds to ensure that you have everything that you need to fully enjoy your visit. The rooms are spacious and incredibly nice, the showers have three shower heads attached, something I have never experienced before, and the beds are super comfortable with more than enough pillows! My only negative comment is that this facility needs to tighten up on their food service and dining area. I waited almost an hour just to be served for breakfast in the courtyard after I was told by the front desk that someone would be with me shortly. I didn't order and ended up leaving to go somewhere else because this was very UNSAT! I'm reasonable and understand that things were probably hectic and busy in the kitchen, but if you have one person who can't get orders taken in a timely manner, order more servers! Other than this complaint, my stay overall was not bad at all!

We had planned our stay at the Mansion for months in anticipation of our daughters college graduation. The staff at the Mansion could not have been more accommodating.
Specifically we d like to mention Melisa Williams as she ensured our stay exceeded our expectations. Every detail for the trip was meticulously planned and the entire staff pulled all the stops to make it happen.
Our requests were probably more than the average guest but not once did anyone make us feel like we were a bother.

Stayed here this past weekend and all I can say is WOW! The hotel itself is classy, very clean, and overall interesting with grand paintings and luxurious interiors. This is easily a 4 star place. The staff were all very friendly and very accommodating! If you're staying in Savannah put this hotel at the top of your list. Highly recommend!
