Every zoo I've been to has been better than this zoo! The price of this zoo doesn't match the experience $20 and military gets $3 off? San Diego military gets in free and most other zoos in the country. Most exhibits were small, the animals looked under fed, indoor exhibits weren't air conditioned and super humid.... Terrible zoo id give it half a star if I could.

Zoo has much improved since my last visit 5 years ago, Roaring Nights is petty cool too during the summer. Go early though, by noon-1pm at the latest or you'll miss all the big animals, they sleep around that time.

An absolute must if you have any children. The park has a very large variety of animals of course and is very well kept. The food and beverages within the park are also reasonably priced compared to other zoo's and amusement parks I have visited.

Nice family get away drove from Las Vegas. A lot of exhibits are closed but there was enough to see to keep you occupied. It was bigger then I thought I was tired by hour 2. Would come and like to see everything else

Nice

I've only been 1 time but enjoyed all that was offered with fair pricing, variety of animals, food options & shopping. Zoo's are a great place for all ages to learn about animals, their habitat and the chance to see them up close. The grounds were well maintained, but more open seating along pathways would be good for older adults and those who need to sit as needed. For all you offer I recommend the L.A. Zoo and give you 5 stars.

Saturday morning on Mother's day weekend. Very nice, comfortable weather, plenty of sunshine with plenty of people. A nice place to spend time with kids. Can get very crowded on weekends with nice weather!

Great day with my wife. All of the animals looked healthy. The lions looked a little cramped in their habitat but honestly look very old and just layed about. We cant wait to bring the kids.
And wear your hiking shoes and be ready to walk up hills. It's just parks terrain but is a great work out. They also have a tram that will relocate you around the park.

The only reason why this Zoo isn t getting 5 stars is because there was no coffee or monsters sold there and i had to explore the whole Zoo with out any caffeine. Besides that the Zoo was great, clean, had many monkeys .

Went with my family for the first time for the light show at the zoo. We where there at 5pm waiting for tickets we bought the ticket she made a mistake sold us an extra ticket so we had to go back and wait . Then we waited in line finally got there 6:15pm and they told us that we can t go in until 7:30pm because are tickets said 7:30pm. The box office never told us that we got 7:30pm Its very unorganized and the employees are unfriendly. I can t get my money back I have to change them for another day. Don t come it s not worth it go some where else like San Diego zoo

Had a really great time with my family, considering this zoo is in a park in LA I wasnt expecting it to be so big, with a really large variety of animals and exhibits.
We spent 2.5hrs walking around and didnt make it round the entire zoo.
The reptile exhibit was really interesting.
The staff are really friendly and are walking about the park offering information about the animals.

Went on a Sunday, was very crowded. Almost none of the visitors spoke English, at times I forgot that I was in the USA... not really the park's problem, but you can imagine what the majority demographic was (Raiders hats everywhere). There were many kids that weren't being watched by their parents, constantly running off and making noise, hanging off the glass and rails at the exhibits, to the point of park security forcing them to come down with the parents nowhere to be found. The park grounds were filthy, there was trash littered along the sides of the pathways and no park attendants were cleaning it up. There were disrespectful morons trying to feed Giraffe's reeds and other random branches and leaves pulled off of the bushes along the walkways, despite the warning signs not to feed them. The exhibits themselves seemed small and depressing, particularly the Bear, Lion, Hippo, and especially the Giant Sea Otter exhibit... it was pathetic. Coming from the SD Zoo and the Safari Park, the animal enclosures were paltry and neglected. With all of the sponsors plastered everywhere such as Honda, 99 Cents store, and so on, you would think there would be some TLC regarding the exhibits and park grounds... I guess for the price it was decent at $19, but I doubt I will come here again.

The felines were mostly sleeping...sadly.. Surprisingly there were decent food options at not outrageous prices. Strongly subsidized (around $15 million annually) by the la city, so it's fairly cheap for admissions.

We have annual passes and we've taken our son here a lot. He's an infant still. The special seasonal stuff seems like a waste of money but the normal zoo isn't bad. Some of the zoo is Hella old

I went to see the LA Zoo Lights for the first time and they were amazing! Much better than I thought they would be. They truely care about the animals and placed all the lights were it wouldn't bother them. I will diffenitly go back next year.

We went during ZooLights. Its at night so only reptiles and wolves were awake to see but its great fun to have somewhere to wonder around decorated so festively and just ooh and ahh at all the lights. There were reindeer sleeping behind a fence but very close to look at. They had hot choc to purchase for a fun and cozy part of the experience.
Alot less $ than other things to do around town. Bring a blanket or something warm to wear, because its a lovely outside stroll. Oh Santa was there for pics but at an extra fee
