Beautiful zoo but some animals have a lack of obvious places (lion, otter ...).
The day is nice, watch out for the sun.

Roaring nights is a great way to see the animals without huge crowds. I do feel like the music is too loud for them. It's probably not a good idea to have drunk people bothering the animals. It could use more staff to prevent this. That's why I gave it 4 stars.
Awesome zoo. Just wish the signage were more clear.
Highly recommended for the whole family. For older adults it is tiring because there are many increases
A great place to bring the family and watch beautiful animals from all over the world. You can also get in some exercise, walking up and down the park.
The free parking lot can be crowded, but hey it's free. The Zoo offers plenty of exhibit to see, plan to spend at least 1/2 day here.
really Enjoyed the zoo. Wasn't very busy on a Tuesday so that was great.
Always pretty fun. See some animals, get some "steps in"
Yeah, it is not the most respectful way to see animals, but it's far from the worst. And what other option do you have in LA.
Smaller than I thought, lot of animals not even there.was disappointed
Went to the LA Zoo Lights event. The displays were well setup and organized perfectly throughout the paths. The lairs with the amphibians, reptiles, were cool and elephants were also up.
What a great family experience to welcome the holiday season!
Good day for a walk around the zoo for an easy workout. The zoo was poorly maintained and animals looked miserable!! I will probably not go back there again.
It is small compared to others. But it has a good distribution making its journey easy, friendly and fun
I really like the care that the animals have, it is a place with a lot of vegetation. Clean and much order
Showing my daughter all the animals up close is such an amazing experience. She loved watching the elephants. It was a fun day at LA zoo. And there are free car charging stations.
Best day ever so much to see couldn't see every thing in one day.
This park is such a cool spot for kids all the different animals we got to experience today kids had a blast
I love the L.A. zoo, it's a dear place to our family. Animals come first and are treated well. The zoo is primarily focused on the well being of its residents, and visitors then get worked in to the equation. And they do a fabulous job of making your visit memorable. Feeding time is always a joy, and any time the keepers interact with the animals. Giant, ferocious beasts become tame house pets when they are around. There is a loving connection that you can see and it's magical.
So why 4 stars? Everything is so expensive. But this is my review and that's one thing that's important to me.
Great times when it's not an extremely hot day in LA
Educational, fun - aa bit too crowded for my taste at times but great way to teach the kids about the wild while not leaving the urban. Have to say though part of me will willingly give up the existence of zoos - hard to watch what it does to me animals - clearly they are loved and cared for by the staff who are one by one great people (from random encounters) but still you can see some sad animals...
We weren't sure what to expect, but were pleasantly surprise to find a very nice zoo. Lots of active animals to view, but nothing exceptional or special from other zoos we've been able to visit. The property is very hilly, so be sure to take that into account when picking your outfit/footwear.
It is a beautiful place where you enjoy nature and animals
If I my they added rentable go-karts for 50 every 4-5 hours. I hate walking, but it was amazing.
Ok so a zoo is where you see animals that are put there for us to enjoy and interact for our entertainment... look up and how many stars you see? One to many! I had to put one only for the sake of my son and fiance were there at this "park" (cause that's all it is is just a park with no animals...well that was the impression they gave us, but even a park has swings and a slide to make a smile on a face and I cant say this for the L.A. Zoo which should be renamed THE L.A. BOOOOO). So if you want to be disappointed just go but every time you go to a park now after that bring a lighter with about 1 to 2 hundred dollars and burn it while a bologna sandwich is being consumed by your taste bugs....oh and they have a giraffe
Large zoo, with plenty to see. It's hard to see everything in one day, but it's not so bad if you only want to see certain animals in different parts of the park. Look into the membership if you a family and try to avoid the heat.
You can't go wrong with the Zoo Annual Pass. Free parking, lush environment, a great workout walking through there. It is a must for every Angelino. There is alot to do with the kids, the times for animal shows or kids shows are throughout the day. At the top of the Zoo they have a playground for all the kids. Snacks are reasonably priced. Cash and card accepted. OR...you can bring in you own snacks, lunch and water and sit anywhere through the Zoo.
Love the zoo!!! And some zookeepers here are so helpful and always give so much information going around and specifying about each animal! Such a memorable place!
Had a great time! Get there right when they open to enjoy the cooler weather & less crowds.
Most of the cages we went to there were not enough animals.
I love the L.A. Zoo! They've improved the elephant's habitat, added some new exhibits, but have retained the charm of the zoo I've been visiting for 50 years!
Despite the current pandenic at the time of this post, the Los Angeles Zoo was still enjoyable.
They could use more animals. They shut the nocturnal animals section down (one of my favorites)
Went there with the whole family on a weekday. Wasn't so busy, which was nice. Saw a lot of animals!
Nice place to learn about the animals and their life. Nice place for a family picnic spot.
Lots of fun for the family, we have the family pass and still haven't seen the entire zoo park. Every time we go it's a new adventure.
Amazing during Christmas with all the lights for the season
Very big Zoo, lots to see. Really awesome reptile exhibits, a must see!
Had a great family day here! The only thing I could really suggest is bringing your own food and water to have a picnic in the park with. They give you that option!
Cant go wrong with the zoo!! I do wish the zookeepers can come out and stimulate the larger animals that are always seem to be napping whenever we go ;) ..
Especially like the bird show. Its one of our highlighs as usual! :)
Zoo is a pretty good size with lots of animals. It would've been better to give bigger spaces for some animals, though.
Even during COVID the zoo had so much to do and see. My daughter had a blast.
Lot's of fun but very little cell signal. But to be honest I have no idea what sort of WiFi the park had but playing Pokemon Go was not as fun. Some vending machines we unable to connect to any wireless service either so I missed a chance to get an ice cream when the heat that day required it. Was nice to see vending machines with the wireless pay option like Samsung Pay.
Nice place to spend 3 to 4 hours. Take sunscreen a hat and sunglasses
I love it!!! Very amazing place!!!!
It will be interesting to children and adults
Perfect place to hang out with curious little ones. Family membership totally worth it!
Get here early to avoid the crowds and nab free parking. Free parking lot is big but sometimes full by noon.
It was a very nice display of lights. It feel like Christmas. Liked a lot. It's a fun night for the children an adults l.
beautiful place .. only there are snakes and crocodiles loose
This is the perfect place to go with your kid when there is no plan.
It is pretty big and clean. Great customer service.
I missed more educational activities for children or animal contact (there is a place with goats where the kids can pets them). I missed some resting areas to contemplated the animals.
The animals could have more place, but is not bad at all, doth.
Almost all restaurants are fast food. (Would be nice to enjoy the park with a vegetarian restaurant respectful with the animals).
I love the vegetation all around the park. There is a lot of shadows areas witch is great for a hot days.
Good parking.
It was a perfect day we went on a Sunday and it wasn't to crowded. What I like the most is you are able to bring your lunch and water inside the park!
Very nice and sad at the same time for the poor animals
