Visited the zoo on a Sunday and it was a nice time. Everyone was safe, and we got to see about half of the animals there. Everything that is indoors is closed off. There is still one main area where you can purchase food and eat outside (offering hamburgers, veggie burgers, chicken sandwiches, all come with fries.)
There were a few snack shacks open as well that sell refreshments, churros, and icees, which was nice on a hot day.

Waste of Money!

Waste of Money!
Don't spend a dime on this experience..
Not worth it!
Light Show is not what you expect it to be. Go around aton and you will see better light decorations ,. In addition there was no light show, but a light decoration and lots of vendors to make money on you!

Hello, I am from the UAE, Dubai, and I am a fan of zoos and I was longing to visit the Los Angeles Zoo, but the surprise was the park without animals !!!
The scarcity of the healthiest was free from basic animals such as the lion and predatory animal species and many animals we did not see in the park, the price of the tickets is reasonable and the area of the garden is good and the addition is very good, attention must be paid to increasing the number of animals and the park will be one of the most beautiful gardens and thank you 25/8/2017

so much fun. but, it s even more fun during the christmas season! my family and i went for a christmas celebration at night. unfortunately, we weren t able to see any animals, but, in my opinion, we saw something way better. we passed through a tunnel of different colored lights and then we passed an area full of trees that were like those plastic battery powered trees you d see in the lorax. they emitted so much light and a beautiful blue color. they also sold hot chocolate, and i got some. it was just about the best hot chocolate id ever tasted.

Zoo shouldn't be opened if they hardly have any animals to see. At least give half price. They should let people know what animals are available to see when you purchase the tickets. Hardly any and everything on construction. Not the greatest experience.

Free parking and up to 4 free general admission tickets through the LA public library with Discover & Go. Large assortment of animals, plenty of facilities, although enclosures seem a little small for some animals.

Cute Little Zoo - (But three stars because the displays aren't kid friendly and the enclosures have lots of scratched and dirty glass. For a destination city as big and as popular as Los Angeles, this zoo could do better.) I've posted one of the only displays kids can see and it's pretty hazy. (The pygmy caiman sure is cute though.)

I use to come here with my boys when they were baby's, now there 18 and 13 and it bought back so many memories, am still sad that even though they build a bigger exhibit for the elephant he's still just stands there and bobs he's head up and down:(. They do have some really cool attraction, the lizard house very cool, the Gorillas were also really great, for the most part the animals were really active and seems as happy as they can be. Nice place to go.

When you ignore the fact that zoo is kind of jail for animals. It is a very cool place, and to see young kids exited to see huge animals for the first time is not something that you can miss.
I really feel bad for the animals, they have done nothing to be in jail, except for being beautiful and amazing, and for human to entertain. The place is clean and organized, and I felt that the people here really try to do a lot for the animals here.

We enjoyed it
I think the kids like it more than the adults. Not all the animals are visible. I think about 60% of them were available others were either hiding or no where to be found.

My husband and I went there on a Sunday afternoon, it was very crowded, but still very nice. Everything was in bloom. I think there are signs that say kids shouldn't be running around and screaming, but some parents ignore that and let their kids do whatever. I will be going again when the schools are in session and I can enjoy a more peaceful time.

There is no more Rhino :( my son was so looking forward to seeing the rhinoceros but after searching and finally asking a worker they said the rhino passed away and there is no rhino exhibit. Still had a good time feeding giraffes and looking at the other animals.

Great photo ops but the lines are way too long and we missed most of the exhibits available. Arrived at 8p it took about 40 mins to get in and the reptiles and carousel closed at 915p. Definitely did not the enjoy the police escorting us out. Bad call during these bad times. Over priced for such a short time frame.

Very nice way to spend evening. Super nice for young children. If you are within an hour's drive it's worth it. I did not give 5 stars only because I did not think it was as good as old Griffith Park lights they had years ago but I realize that may not be fair. On Friday's either get there super early or after 7.
