I used to love to take my kids to the zoo but over the past few months it s gotten so crowded. The place has also gotten pretty dirty and there aren t enough bathrooms located around. The petting zoo is really not well maintained. There are only a few animals available to pet. I wish they would have an app so you could know when the animal shows were.

A large zoo with many animals. Not as nice as the San Diego Zoo, but they have been gradually making improvements to the L.A. Zoo. You can feed giraffes, there is a "flamingo walk", and the World of Birds show is great.

Nice place to spend a day witH young kids. Parking is little inconvenient but there is definitely a lot of animals to see. Put your sneakers on and take sunscreen and a hat because it gets hot in the summer. The gorillas are very impressive. Lions are kind of old and don't move around a lot

My experience here was ok. They have definitely renovated a lot and it is a good place to visit if you're in the area and don't want to spend Disneyland prices on a day out with the family. A lot of their staff members don't really seem too thrilled to help, although there were a few that were really bubbly and welcoming. The place was clean and somewhat easy to navigate. My only concern is how poorly fed and maintained some of the animals looked. Shouldn't more of the park's money go towards adequately keeping up with the nutrition and appearance of the animals, not just the park itself?

I love coming here for family day, but it seems that every time we come theres no animals in the exhibits. Which i think is ridiculous, were basically paying $20 to get in to just walk around. I think they need to post something on their website stating which animals will in there exhibit & which animals wont. But besides that it was ok

We had a great time. Lots of exhibits, wide paths. It was a little confusing, and we had to double back a few times to see everything. Price was reasonable. Parking was free - PLUS free car charge - so double score! We will be back!

Its fun for the kids. For one of the largest cities in the US I expected more. Its very dated and the animals are in small enclosures except for the Elephants. The food is pricy and not even as good as McDonald's. My wife found a hair in her salad. I did get a year membership for my family though because, like I said, its fun for the kids.

Nice zoo, I gave it 4 stars because it's not big enough and also there were empty places and cages. Was expecting for something bigger.
I recommend to go anyway, but take to consideration that when it's hot the animals are not that active so it's better to go early in the morning.

It was nice to have a day of somewhat normalcy. I had an early appointment at 10:15. The crowds were low and saw quite a bit of activity with the zoo animals. We saw the Bear, Tiger, Elephant, Giraffe, Birds, Seal Lions, Hippo's, Ant eater and a few more big ones. By the time we left the zoo at 12:30 the zoo was a bit full and the zoo animals seemed to have gone to take a nap. Get there early to see animal activity. Take water and snacks for the peanuts.

This is the worst zoo I ever been to in my life! They berealy have animals to show and the animals they do have look like they about to die out of starvation. Don't waste your money go to another zoo.

Best month to go I believe is October because all the animals are active enjoying the weather . I enjoyed my entire day there and great place to put in some good walking exercise. Good for all ages , don't let a nice place , like the Zoo , die down .Take your family and friends for a great outing.

Good place to go with the family but I don't like the fact that the animals are all asleep could be because of the summer heat. Food pricey but at least decent tasting. The map layout sorta confusing but over all good experience.

Safety pin! The entrance is worth every dollar, it is an amazing place and apart from that it collaborates with the conservation and research of the species. You have to take a good time to be able to see each exhibition and try to follow an order so as not to miss anything, since at 4:30 or earlier they are already keeping some animals and it is a pity to miss some exhibition. The chicken tenders at Reggie's Grill were delicious!

Can't miss it! The ticket worths every dollar, is an awesome place and you collaborate with conservation and research of the species. Take your time so you can see each exhibition and follow a route so you don't miss anything, because at 4:30 or earlier they take animals off to rest and it's a shame to lose a single exhibition. The chicken tenders at Reggie's Grill were delicious!

Definitely not one of the better zoos we've been to. Yes it's lovely looking at animals but if you take a deeper look, many of the enclosures appear empty. There are animals on their own and with nothing else close, pitiful really. The Toucan for example was in a relatively small enclosure that didn't really allow for flight, he was alone and with no other birds close by. The male Elephant looked depressed, walking backwards and forwards, rocking his head. There was a keeper there justifying his actions, but it just seemed like a cover up. The exhibits at a zoo should be enriching for the animals, I didn't get that feeling at all here and frankly, left feeling a bit depressed, I've never really felt this way at other zoos.

I give 3 stars only because my family went there today and about 75% of the animals were asleep. I think it might be because it's winter season right now. But the staff were very friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. They even have food for vegans there. I would still come here again.

Nice experience but I was hoping they had more lights, they only decorated trees and few bushes. I saw an advertisement about the light show and that Picture showed lots of lights, not exactly what I saw in real life.

Mid afternoon and all of the animals were asleep. Exhibits are not viewer friendly. Plants were somewhat high which made viewing harder. Not very many signs throughout...walked halfway down a path before figuring out where we were headed.
