It was not crowded. Plenty parking spaces. The front restrooms could have been cleaner. Nice bird shows. Nice settings. Great for the whole family.

I loved it so much! I would go every day if I could!
I enjoyed the Los Angeles Zoo much better than the overrated Diego County Zoo. We didn't need to drive 150 miles south to see the animals when our own Los Angeles Zoo is right in our own backyard and just as good. They keep the place clean and the staff very friendly.
A great place to take your kid here. The dino exhibit is lame. Not worth the extra money to see. The animals are awesome. Big negative on that creepy cookie monster dude at the zoo entrance. Reminds me of Mr McGibblets from the show The League.
Kids loved it, free parking, can take your own food
It's an ok zoo. It's not too small & not too large. Nothing really special about this zoo but with kids it is always a worth while trip. Just be careful of the million yellow jackets around. During the Christmas time you have to check out the LA Zoo Lights. Now that is worth going with your kids.
The LA Zoo is a great place to visit. There are very helpful workers and volunteers to give you interesting information about the animals and birds. My favorite was seeing the 50 year old orangutan. She is the oldest in North America! There is one other in England. The food at Reggies Bistro is delicious. Angus burgers are huge ..maybe 1/3 pound with crispy fries. The Mahala is also good. You can watch the giraffes while you eat.
Love this place, great to have fun whit your kids and excersice too because is a good walk to see all the park, they're improved very good!!!
There needs to be more shaded areas, but overall a great place to go for the day.
Many animals sitting are temporary closed. Not much to see !!!
This zoo was perfect. It's not too big it's not too small. Plenty of free parking. I was very pleased to find that all of the restrooms were super clean. And the animals look like they were well taken care of. I will be coming back again soon.
Most zoos seem awfully similar to each other to me. But I felt like this was one of the cleanest zoos I ve visited and there s a great variety of animal species. Additionally it s amazing they go all out with the holiday spirits! Their lights festival is impressive and definitely a great place to bring kids to see. If you love animals and/or need a kid friendly place to go in LA, this should be priority!
So many animals at this zoo! A lot going on with presentations and shows. We had to get a season pass to make sure we can enjoy all that the La Zoo has to offer. We didnt know you can bring your own food which is our plan for our next trip.
Fun trip to the zoo. The baby giraffe is adorable!!
Never will visit after hearing about Billy the elephant and his solitary/ unmet living conditions....Would pay to see you all stuck in there though..... Even criminals get better treatment than this innocent elephant.
I visit this place when ever I can, is great for the kids. Great with animals. I love everything every time I visit there is something new. It's a really good way to exercise because it's huge and you take a big long walk looking at beautiful animals.
I did not like. It was very hot and the animals looked tired and without water to drink.
I hadn't been here in a while.
I love the updates/improvements.
Clean.
Make sure you have comfortable attire (clothing and shoes).
Strollers allowed - kid friendly.
Kiddy park available.
My family had the annual pass & we would come every weekend! It was lots of fun & the park is huge so we would always see a different part or revisit our favorite exhibits when we came. Miss going, home to visit soon again!
One of the best zoo I ever visited. Actually i love to visit the zoo at different places but this is best zoo I visited yet. I am totally addicted to this place. The species and well maintained stuff and the beautiful animals could wins everyone heart! Must recommend
Came here as a kid and now I'm bringing my kids here. Its awesome. But as you get older you start to notice how sad the animals really are. Not something I would tell my kids because as a kid you really don't notice that.
You need to buy a ticket once the zoo opens at 10 am. Can't pre-buy ticket before it opens.
Great place to visit take the kids have fun joy the animals
Very hilly. The direction signs inside the zoo could be more clear.
Had an absolutely fantastic day at the zoo. There were so many gorgeous animals and the property was very clean and will kept. It's a great place for families. It's also great for adults to go with their friends. They do offer beer and wine for those who are interested.
Bring your snack bag because everything inside is too expensive!!
Awesome experience for the kids tons of educational opportunities even the walking is a pretty good workout. Animals are groups roughly by region of the world lot of funny games you can do with the kids including a scratch off passport that they give you at the entrance. If they complete the passport the kids get a prize this time around it was a zoo themes luggage tag.
Beautiful place. Large and with beautiful green areas to enjoy a snack and play a little with your children while you rest a little while.
Spent the day at the Los Angeles Zoo. Parking and ticketing was a breeze. Employees and volunteers were great, but were difficult to find when in need of help with exact directions to specific enclosures. Some of the restaurants were closed, but the one we found open that we ate at was clean and the food delicious. The gardens are beautiful. It's a great Zoo. Be sure to visit the Orangatans and say hello to Bruno for us!
Great zoo and nice exhibits. Much more manageable than San Diego.
Great zoo, just enough activities and animals to keep a bunch of kids entertained from opening, until closing
Go on a cloudy day with a chance of rain.
Not very many people, we where able to see everything.
I really don't like the attitude on the food places people there ,don't know how to thread customers . most of the animals were hiding so we didn't see most of the animals.
Excellent to spend time with children good bird show
Went for Lights at the Zoo! Great family fun, food, drinks, snacks and hot cocoa!
Cute clean and well organized suitable for a family tour
A family searches for late lions in the sepia haze.
It was ok honestly i didnt see alot of animals and and and alot of water with nothing in it. There was alot of people bjt what i liked was the permotion with ur EBT card to get ur family in for $5each. It was a good oppertunity for the kids to have fun
Great time but some exhibits are too small for the animals and temperatures weren't checked.
Very nice place to visit in the company of the Family.
Love animals and 16$ for a child ticket and 20$ for an adult ticket fair price
There are more animals in downtown Los Angeles than there are in the zoo
My son and I had a great time he loved every minute
I love that this farm is on the smaller size! Fun to spend about 3 hours here with the girls. Petting zoo, haunted house, train ride, pony ride....some over priced lunch and call it a day!
It was such a great experience! There were a lot animals to see at this place and the food stores there had amazing food. My favorite place is the aviary. Not a lot of people go there so it's really peaceful and it's just wonderful to sit on a bench and hear the birds surrounding you. It really has a great atmosphere. The zoo is also really big and pretty easy to get lost so I recommend having a map with you.
Great little zoo. Decent price for what you get. San Diego zoo is DEFINITELY on the top of others, and this one shows. Looks like this specific zoo has dead spots and areas where people don't walk to. Confusing areas and directions, but it's probably meant to get lost in here, good set up but a little more direction can really help people walk around the zoo a little better.
The botanical gardens are very beautiful, however the lack of space for animals, especially lions and giraffes hurts the heart
They have greatly improved this location since my childhood. Much bigger and better animal exhibits. If you try to do it all in 1 day. You will feel like you missed a whole lot.
Our kids love this zoo. Beautiful animals, nice to walk around the zoo.
This is a fantastic zoo. It is large and can hold alot if people, but you dont feel crowded at all. Very well kept up and lots of employees to help you along the way if needed. It's a great place to see a good variety of animals and things to do. Tons of quiet places to sit out of the way and if the little ones get to rambunctious they have a huge play park to burn off the extra energy. The best moment for me was seeing the big bull (male) elephant with the large tusks. Been to many zoos and never see a elephant with tusks, besides he is a big ham and plays it up for the crowd. Definitely will go back!!
Overall a great place to take the family and spend a good 4-6 hrs walking the large grounds. Hours are 10a-5p, seemingly everyday of the yr. This zoo is definitely at least as big, if not larger than many other big city zoos. Although they perennially have a few exhibits closed, the vast majority are open and stocked with great animals. Below are a few tips:
If you want to walk and enjoy the weather and variety you have to visit the LA Zoo
Such a great place to enjoy a wonderful afternoon. To see ones kids eyes light up when seeing these great animals of our world in person
