We visited the zoo today with 3 young children. I was very disappointed. The map is horrible, and signage is not great either! There are plenty of places to get snacks and drinks, but NOT one had milk available to purchase. A program is available for the kids to get a prize after they complete it but the prize is a luggage tag. What the...? What kid is interested in a luggage tag? I felt like the visit was a waste of time and money!

Spent the day at the Los Angeles Zoo. Parking and ticketing was a breeze. Employees and volunteers were great, but were difficult to find when in need of help with exact directions to specific enclosures. Some of the restaurants were closed, but the one we found open that we ate at was clean and the food delicious. The gardens are beautiful. It's a great Zoo.

The animals are well cared for, they make their habitat as similar as possible. They have campaigns on the importance of conserving endangered species as well as campaigns for the protection of forests. The keepers teach how to take care of them and the animals recognize them as their protectors.

Has all the traditional animals, elephants, apes, lions, tigers, giraffes, you name it. Super reasonable prices especially if you get a membership. The special events like Easter bunny, Halloween boo at the zoo, etc are worth the price of a season pass. The Brew at the zoo and 80s 90s nights are awesome dates. I've heard some people complain about it being dirty or sad looking animals but each time I ask they say they haven't been in years. Maybe it was that way but since 2015 it's been pretty amazing.

We had so much fun and learned a lot. My 3 yr old son still talks getting to feed the giraffe. She was super and gental. The staff was so informative and nice. Had fun at the petting zoo and was great to see that the animals had zoned off area they choose to go to when the they have had enough of touching and need a break. It helped my son learn to respect the animals space and know they have feelings too.

I am a angry about the Christmas LA Zoo lights this year. I got there 30 minutes early, made line to get in for an hour, then they closed 20 minutes early. I thought I paid from 8pm to 10pm? I don't understand. They closed the marry go round 30 minutes early as well as the gift shops. Needless to say, we didn't see everything, it was way to crowded. This may be the last year we go.

The zoo is no longer crowded. We got the 3pm entrance which was okay. The only down size is that 4pm is the feeding time for a lot of the main animals like the tigers, giraffes, jaguars... The line is not to long and we only made line for ten minutes. You'll need to buyp your tickets online and no cash is accepted when inside. Over all the zoo is amazing.

What a amazing place. So much stuff to do and see. Located in one of the best parks in the city. You can spend hours walking around and only see half of it. You can even walk to it, if your mind desires it. Great exhibits that the animals are part of, looks very natural and away from people. One thing to be aware of is that, the Los Angeles Zoo doesn't honor EBT card holders a free entry into the Zoo.

Saturday visit was packed. Like most zoos, you should expect not all animals to be awake an active just for you. The knock comes with the parking situation, the general unkempt state of the zoo, and the sad enclosed environment of trying to fit the animals in Los Angeles.

Please be aware that al lot of places like the reptiles are closed. You cannot get close to see the parrots or the monkeys. The lions and the tasmanian devils along with a lot of other animals were moved and the exhibitions were closed. All the photo booths are closed. The monkey hut was closed. We came at 3 pm and many animals were hidden inside their enclosures. Over all I feel like we were given 50% of the zoo experience but the prices were the same. Definitely come early in the day although the tickets for those times sell out fast. Coming late really seems like a waste of money.

What a great day. Amazing enclosures, beautiful collection, and helpful staff. The murals are probably their most powerful conservation statements. Thank you LA Zoo from the Phoenix Zoo!

It's a very small zoo but it has improved over the years. The animals are well taken care of. However, the Lion and Tiger exhibit was mediocre. The elephant exhibit was closed but it only 1 elephant was out out. The apes, gorillas and chimpanzees were amazing. I dont know if they will ever grow because of its location. It would be nice if they could enlarge the zoo and take parts of Griffith Part and make that park of the zoo. Plenty of room to build upon.

Fun Zoo with active animals. Adult price is $21, seniors over 62 are $18 and children under 2 are free. The zoo is close to Hollywood and China Town. There is also a small train inside the zoo that takes you around the zoo, you have to pay $10 adult and child $5.
