They claim to be a AAA 5 star resort. Not even close. The Christmas light display was very good and the Birds of Prey show was great. Check in was horrible. Waited in line for 20 minutes and was given a bad key card twice!! 3rd time they got it right. The room was nice but found open sugar packet along with sugar granules in one of our beds. Reported this to the front desk and told them because of the late hour, we would sleep on top of the sheets & housekeeping could remake the bed the next morning. The morning breakfast buffet was not 5 star. Omelets were over cooked (brown) and scrambled eggs were dry. Fruit was very good. The Friday night seafood buffet was overpriced ($50) for what you were getting. Crab was good but they needed a better selection of sides. The prime rib at serving station was over cooked and had to have the staff go to the kitchen to get me a piece of medium rare. We could have done 10 times better at Ruth Cris'. I can't see us staying or eating there again.

The lodge is beautiful, as well are the grounds. The rooms are nice and spacious. During our stay, the female front desk staff were rude and unprofessional. Even asking for a copy of our receipt seemed to be a hassle for them. If you're looking for great customer service, this isn't the place for you.

This place is beautiful ! I m rating the Lodge and Spa a one star simply on the HORRIBLE customer service from Roman at the front desk. He has the nastiest condescending tone and offers absolutely no help when you call the front desk. Considering how much money my husband and I spent here on the Suite and dinning, to bring our daughter to see the fantasy lights, I would of liked a little more than a, no ma am and abruptly being hung up on, when we called to request anything. Our room wasn t stocked properly and when we called down to request the missing intems, his response was, no ma am, we don t have anyone to bring those items to you. We requested a pair of scissors and some tape and before I could even finished, he rudely blurts out, we don t have any, someone borrowed the tape and didn t bring it back and there s no one to bring you scissors! Once again, I was hung up on and left staring at the phone. We will never come here again and I mean NEVER!!

So the a.c. was out in the rooms. But they discounted our rate gave us a fan, a cheese and fruit plate, and were kind and helpful. The attached restaurant was awesome but over priced. A Coors light should never be $5. And if your going to call yourself a tap room have more than 4 beers on tap.

Fantastic experience with the folks at the lodge and spa. It's a nice, quiet area with plenty of activities for everyone. The rooms were clean and orderly with a great staff to welcome you. The weather was a little dreary but it was the only negative on the whole trip. I will be going back soon.

I brought an employee here for a conference/training. We called for breakfast (room service) over 10 times between the two of us, we are staying in two different rooms. No one would answer the phone so we had to call the front desk to More

Spent one night at The Lodge with my sisters and took the Trolley thru The Fantasy of Lights. What a fun experience! The Lodge is amazing! The staff so friendly and helpful. Our room was perfect. We ate dinner and breakfast and it was delicious. We went thru the Butterfly Center and toured the Chapel. Wish we had more time! We will definitely be back! Would love to see the azaleas in bloom!

Good service, good atmosphere. The rooms were clean and spacious, the staff was very courteous and helpful. The grounds were well maintained. My wife enjoyed her treatment in the spa, and walking around the gardens was very nice, even in chili weather. Definitely a good place to visit.

This is in a bit of a secluded area, not alot of malls, shopping and stores etc. There qre some food places near by. The cabin style setup gives a "living in the country " kind a feel..the cabin living area can be dark at night. Cabins have nice modern decor. There is ample parking. Training facilities are prettu good. Staff will make sure you have your PowerPoint and everything all set up. Even the clicker and mic was provided. Vegan friendly meal options for training was amazing and they even had oat milk as an option at the coffee/tea tables.

clean room... beautiful shower and separate tub... the balcony view of the lake, beach and fountains are stunning. Entrance to garden included and butterflies are magical. The food choices at the restaurants at the lodge and the country store on top of the mtn were fresh and tasty. We will come again. We were here for a 4 day conference.

The renovations are gorgeous the only thing myself and others were disappointed about was the fact they have cut down the trees but Lisa olsbey made up for that she is the best bartender EVER. If anyone goes to the bar as for Lisa she's friendly and was like the coolest bartender ever. I also want to point out Robin and David on the management team it's not often I see management working the floor as I seen them serving tables. I didn't give 5 stars because of the trees

The Lodge is beautiful and the staff was friendly. My only criticism is the condition of the carpeting. In both our room and the hallway, it was badly stained. It should have been shampooed long ago.

1:15 to 3:30 am. A loud party was out of control. Staff kept saying they were trying. A supervisor later told me that the previous night was out of control. Have tried to reach out to management. Do they care.

Got sidetracked on our route to our vacation rental in Florida, stopped overnight and stayed in a king. Hiked around the next morning before hitting the road, and thoroughly enjoyed everything at Callaway Gardens

Beautiful Lodge. Comfortable seating and air temp was perfect during my conference. Cofgee and cookies were way above average. Very clean and the views made you feel likeyou were in heaven. One star missing due to the parking lot. It is super tight and long. It is a long walk to get to the lobby. On the third day I opted for valet.

They were renovating the rooms. There was no mention of this anywhere on the site during the reservation. We found out when we got there to check in. Got woke up in the morning to them beating on the floor in the room directly above ours.

Pretty room, and view. Like the area. Would be perfect, but if you don t valet you have to walk far from your car to lodge. Would be bad if raining. Also, shower had mold on caulking and extremely hard beds.

We recently stayed for Valentines 2020, very quite and peaceful. The staff was extremely professional and amenities deserve top rating. We ate breakfast, lunch and dinner at the Piedmont with cocktails at the Tap Room. Only regret was leaving. A hidden gem. Winter was great summertime would be loads of fun.

Love the overnight accommodations at the Lodge and Spa. Friendly staff, beautiful location, wonderful decor, delicious restaurants. It is nice to be able to bike in and out while visiting Callaway. The pool is also nice during warmer weather ( we have stayed 2x once in summer and once in winter)

Beautiful place with a heated pool, whirlpool, nature trails, walkways, fountain, flowers, trees (country style)... that we enjoyed. The bed was confortable and the bathroom had a shower and tub. Our only complaint was the shower did not have hand rails (slippery floor) which it should have for safety. The entry to Callaway Gardens is included . The breakfast buffet was included in the hotel stay and it was good. They have two prices for hotel stay, with or without breakfast. Staff was friendly and helpful.

Room clean, but not altogether comfortable. Had to use a toss pillow to sleep with because the bed pillows were way too big and fluffy. The shampoo and conditioner in the shower from the spa smelled heavenly.

We were told to leave the beach by someone who didnt work the hotel. What's the point of advertising a beach specific to the hotel if you don't have access? Management is not like it used to be, very disappointed and will not be going back! Also what's frustrating management was not attentive to the situation.

I would definitely get the Lodge and Spa five stars. Every time I go there they are very attentive and take care of my every need. The facility is extremely nice. Callaway Gardens and the neighboring town offers lots if activities to keep you occupied. If you have reason to have a conference or meeting there this would be a top-notch place to go.

Rooms were great, but we had to request handsoap in the bathroom. The breakfast buffet was wonderful! As for the Callaway beach, nothing was open at 4:00pm on a Thursday. No life guards, no snack bar attendants, etc., so it seemed very drab. We thought we'd go to dinner to kill time then come back and see if things were more lively - they weren't. We decided to go to the hot tub, but were told it closed at 7:30pm (it is now 7:15pm). Overall, it was a great stay - just wished there were more to do.

My family went for the annual Balloon Festival. Wish we had not. If you think this is a premium resort, you are wrong. If you think the photos online are representative, you are wrong. The room was dirty, the staff was cold and uncaring, and the experience was less like the Biltmore and more like the Holiday Inn. All of this would have been acceptable if the price point was more appropriate. Sadly, we spent too much and got too little for our money. Avoid.

Booked a lake view 2 months in advanced. Called 3 days before to confirm everything and was told yes lake view. Get there and guess what no lake view. On top of that looks like the whole lake side view was rented out by a family reunion... wonder if that is why we got bumped? Also, there was so much noise in the hallway it was like a frat party. Would not recommend if your trying to get away for anything like a 10 year wedding anniversary!

My name is Kaile Gunter. My family and I stayed at Callaway during the first week of June 3rd 2018. While the landscaping and quality of food was great, the place was not customer friendly. We were told that the Cabana was open at the pool by the employees at front desk and it was not. We asked the next day was it supposed to be open, again they said it was and no one was ever there to open the bar all day. An employee came out to the pool in the afternoon to empty the trash. We asked her if she was going to open the Cabana. She said no, and didn't bother to ask further why the place wasn't open or why we were asking for someone to open it. There were a few excellent dinner servers for the Piedmont restaurant, but on Monday night it took three hours to finally recieve the food and check. It was very slow service, though our waiters were attentive and kept checking on us. The hotel cleaning service was horrible. Unless I am just ignorant to be expecting this, but the bathrooms were not cleaned to the point where the tub had hair and skin from its previous use the night before, hair in the sink, and a dirty mirror. Crumbs on the table were not cleaned off and the beds were not made as well unless the king bed had all of its sheets stripped off (pull out bed never got made up). The rooms' balconies had spider webs, so much so that it was uncomfortable to sit out there. My mother during the trip also had to bring her bedsheets down to the front desk because there was blood on them and they were not changed, so she asked if she could get new sheets since house keeping had not been reliable with cleaning the rooms the past few days. While the employees were nice to her face, I happen to walk by later and over heard the same blonde woman complaining loudly at the front desk about a woman asking for clean sheets. I was going to ignore it but then the employee began to disrespect my mother and laughed about it with a coworker. Instead of handling it in the moment, I gathered my mom (who is the resort's main customer in our group as SHE is the one paying for most of the rooms and expenses) so she and I could address the situation together. We asked for a manager. The manager came out and in front of the employee and fellow coworker who she was gossiping with we explained our disatisfaction at their service. I personally said that it was unprofessional to speak negatively about customers and that we expected better treatment. I got no reply nor eye contact from the employee who gossiped about my mother. My mother was kind and just repeated her wishes to have clean sheets. The manager did have our rooms to be one of the first ones cleaned, but she failed to provide an apology. There were several other problems at the resort, and overall I was ready to leave the second day of our week there. I am pretty sure none of my relatives are going to return to Callaway, but I can promise you that my mother, sister, and I are never going to stay there again. Our trip was lovely but only because of the family time we had together, but that could have been done with a cheap meal at McDonald's. Everyone has their own preferences, but I for one can never stay at a place where the majority of the employees are lukewarm at best to customers. Please management, if you do care, do something about this so that way other future customers are not given the same treatment. Thank you.

Very nice. The hotel and restaurant staff make up for their lack of experience by being courtious, attentive, and responsive. The room's contemporary furnishings make for a comfortable and restful stay in a beautiful setting. The resteraunt food was tasty and served with a smile. Got a massage at the spa, great experience.
