Me and my husband are having absolutely horrible experience. We arrived in the evening, hoping to enjoy widely advertised pool/hot tubs area. There is no one light outside, so we had to ask a receptionist for the directions and had to walk with the flashlight to find our way to the pool. When we finally got there, we fund a lock on the entry door, no pool, no hot tubs, no fire in any of the fireplaces. They close everything after dark, you just have to stay in your room. Such a disappointment after paying almost $300 per night. Our weekend is ruined, we will never come back to this place with cheap management again.

We stayed here 2019 Thanksgiving week. It is much like a state park lodge but overpriced. The staff was very pleasant and the spa was a wonderful experience despite its tired appearance. The Fantasy of lights was beautiful, and the local Wild Safari was worth every penny - fun was had by all! Thanksgiving dinner at the lodge, on the other hand, was $75 per person (out the door) and totally not worth it!!!! The buffet was not replenished during the nearly 1.5 hr that we were there from 12:45pm to 2:15 pm. The presliced turkey was the best thing that they had on the buffet, as there was no one at the carving station and the pans at the seafood section remained empty. The potatoes were like glue as there were only remnants stuck to the pan - no peas, no corn, no cranberry in sight.. and the stuffing was like molded wet cornbread with no seasonings. No pumpkin pie either- just little cake squares that looked prettier than they tasted. Callaway s could have done better with their feast - just seemed like it was all about pouring as many people as they could into a buffet dining room and somebody forgot that you have to hire people to do food prep and attend the buffet beyond the first rush :(

Good location for a relaxing vacation. We went there during the week for business. I was able to take a lot of waslks with my dog. (They were letting dogs in the spa due to a hurricane.) Hotel was good. Service was low key. If the outdoors, gardens, and walking/biking is not you thing, avoid it.

We went in town to eat and brought our own food for picnic baskets. Was a good trip overall.

We came with my husband to celebrate our wedding anniversary and guess what, we booked through expenditure a room in Lodge with queen bed woodland view but ended up somehow at another facility which called Callaway Gandens Inn near the road 27. We paid extra 25$ to update and relocate to Spa. We got room with king bed but in the evening I could not fall asleep because of continuous noise from the wall and cold which was coming not from conditioner ( I switched it off). I called administrator, he sent somebody to check and he said that is compressor and every room has such monotonous noise. Thanks for him, he brought ear plugs therefore I was able to sleep. But cold woke me up in the morning. It is strange to be in the forest and instead listening birds singing get crazy of monotonous noise from compressors or whatever there in the wall. For more than 170$ per night , I consider not a good experience. On top of that, administration charge us extra 15$ for room service where I found worn out towels and cracked sink. I have been in Europe and must say the service there is much better . I just wonder if there any competition in USA or FDA does not care about service and conditions in USA hotel business, or maybe Americans like such service?

The Lodge is wonderful. Our room was very nice. We did not have dinner on-site but we did have breakfast. The servers were attentive and the food was great. We will stay here again and have recommended the Lodge to our friends.

I have wanted to go to this Resort and Gardens for 20 plus years. I wish I had not wasted an anniversary weekend for it. For $378 a night, I received indifference, rudeness, and it was no where near resort style in my opinion. The valet attendant was extremely rude and tried to refuse letting me enter to check in. We arrived early and prechecked in. They said they would call when the room was ready. They never called. Check in is at 4 pm, at 4:30 we went back to check in and she wants to know "What makes you think your room is ready, have they called you?" Then when finally inside, the lady checking us in gives me the keys and says she hopes our room keys were already given to someone else. Wait, what?

No explanation on how to get the breakfast that is part of the package.

Room was nice though, so I guess that is something. Although not enough. We will never return.

My wife and I spent the Valentine weekend there and found the hotel to be outstanding! When we entered the hotel there was a nice fire going in the fireplace in the lobby. The front desk staff was prompt and kind. The room decor just blew us away with the grantie and tile in the bathroom. A separate shower build for at least 2 people, maybe 3, and a deep soaking tub on the other side of the bathroom. There was a great of space in the bedroom with a king bed, work area, dresser, and a 2 piece lounge chair. Each room has it's own balcony, with a view of the court yard with the massive fountain as the center piece. The staff in the restaurant was extremely friendly, very professional, kind, and made sure everything was to our liking. From the time we were greeted to the time we left, their number 1 priority was to make sure we enjoyed the dining experience. Overall, this hotel lives up to their reputation.

Great for a quick romantic getaway. The Lodge and Spa has modern decor with very a very pleasant view. The romance package includes a bottle of wine for two along with chocolate covered strawberries. The fitness center has up to date equipment with a separate yoga room. I would definitely come back to visit.

Excellent hotel in a beautiful area. My wife and I always go during the Christmas light show and stay here for several days. We always are hesitant to leave but are refreshed afterwards. Good food and great views as well.

We stayed at this Lodge during our Christmas vacation last week. The room was very nice and the hotel itself was nice but the restaurants were not good and crazily over priced. The Pedimont for the daily breakfast buffet was disappointing to say the least. The restaurant was run-down, seating was ripped and tattered. I literally sunk down into my seat and thought I would fall through and I am not a big lady. The buffet was poorly stocked and foods were mislabeled. Only one gentleman was making all of the omelettes and all of the pancakes to order which was slow to say the least. They ran out of syrup and we constantly had to ask for basics such as butter, jelly, drinks, cream, sugar, etc., that's if we could even find anyone to ask. The restaurant was not even close to capacity so being overwhelmed was not the issue for the poor service and lack of food stock. Not to mention that the crappy buffet was $19 per person and it was a non-holiday day...it was Tuesday the 29th of December. The bar grill staff (the Ironside) was overwhelmed on the night of our arrival because it was Christmas Day so I will cut them some slack in the customer service department but the prices were crazy ridiculous. We were a family of 5 with NO alcoholic beverages and just one appetizer for the table with our meals and the bill was $180. CRAZY!! Also you have to pay a "resort fee" of $15 per day per room but I'm not exactly sure what we got for that. A pool and hot tub?? Which only one of the hot tubs were working. All other resort amenities were an additional charge on top of the $15 per room per day so.....I am perplexed. A cabin would be better for a family vacation to Callaway gardens. Lesson learned.

Very Relaxing and enjoyable get away just outside of the Atlanta area. I think you would really enjoy it for the walks and the ride on the golf cart around the grounds it s absolutely beautiful.

Nice rooms that are well kept. I had a room that faced out over the lake and it was a beautiful view. Was here for a work conference and the conference rooms where nice along with pretty good food for a conference. And then its setting is phenomenal.

First night was less than expected due to other guests being way too loud but the staff was extremely helpful and moved us to the presidential suite for the remainder of the trip for no extra charge so that definitely made up for it, great customer service goes a long way especially for first time customers

We had our Bledsoe-Silmon Family Reunion here last week, we had the best time! We enjoyed the beach, the pool, the carts, the cabins, the lodge, the delicious brunch, the awesome professional and diverse staff, it was sooo relaxing, clean and beautiful to see. The banquet food was top notch, kudos to the cooks!!! We are planning to be back here next year - yaaay!

Beautiful hotel, friendly service, with lots of outdoor activities available (the Gardens and their attractions are included, a $25 pp/per day value). The rooms were well appointed and well kept. Most included a balcony with relaxing views. Amenities included a large bathroom with separate shower and tub, dorm refrigerator/freezer, 4 cup coffee maker, large flat screen TV with accessible HDMI ports, 2 bottles of water per day, free parking, and unexpectedly fast and free internet. Be aware we paid a $15 resort fee but for all that was included it was well worth it. We'd definitely return to this hotel

We went to the restaurant and had a fabulous prime rib buffet on a Saturday night. Breakfast is not included with stay.

As far as problems
1) no express checkout. Had to wait 35 minutes to checkout. Despite having 3 people working, many people had problems with their bill. Seems like they could at least print the bills out the night before and slide them under doors so people could check them and not all storm the desk at checkout time.
2) No EV (electric vehicle) charging spots. The hotel prides it self on being LEED green certified, yet there is no EV charging anywhere on Callaway Gardens property, even for a fee.

Best massage therapist ever! Relaxing, intense deep tissue, and very memberable. The Lodge was clean and in a perfect location for access to the Gardens. The view from the balcony was picturesque and relaxing. Bring your own coffee.

The lodge & Spa Resort is a wonderful place to go this was my third trip my husband's first and I love it and it's because even better this time than it was my last time check it out and you won't be disappointed.

I had a good time during our stay. If we had known in advance we would have opted for a room with a view of the lake/beach rather than the parking lot. The only downsides are (like any hotel room) the thermostat will either have you blazing hot or freezing cold. The parking lot for the facility could use a renovation as far as spacing and clearly marking what is and isn't a valet space (in fact it felt like a vast majority of the upfront spacing was strictly for valet spots which certainly wasn't a coincidence...). The lack of any lighting in the parking lot at night was kind of scary.

For first time visitors, I would advise that you bring in your own food from a restaurant or grocery store prior to coming into the city/park unless you want to pay an extremely overpriced rate to eat/drink within the park or take a chance with a hole in the wall place nearby.

Met with friends for a late lunch and some drinks at Cason's on Tap, the restaurant at the lodge. The location is beautiful and the staff is SUPER nice. Food was fantastic also! Only slight issue I had was the parking. Unless you used the Valet, it was a VERY long walk to and from the non-valet parking.

My wife when down to the Spa to get a pedicure at 4:15pm she was told all nail techs when home all ready. The Spa is open from 9-5 so way would you not keep a nail tech here until the end of the day. Not very happy with Callaway right now.

The room is very nice. I am very disappointed that they removed the coffee pots from the rooms. I was told coffee would be in the lobby. I go down to get some and of coarse there is no e because the restaurant isnt open yet. I came to relax and enjoy coffee and a book on my balcony. That isnt going to happen. Very disappointed. Not sure why a restaurant has to be open to serve your guest coffee. It is a simple process that only needs a countertop with a pot and some tap water.

Motto must be... The customer is always right! Fast friendly service. Great room! Loved the gardens and birds of prey exhibit. We had a blast at the beach with late night movies and a circus too! Could not talk my wife into zip lining from the tree tops. But we rented bikes and rode the 13+ mile wooded trail stopping to view each spectacular garden, butterfly house, & charming chapel along the way. By all means do not skip the all you can eat crab legs & full seafood buffet on Friday nights. Can't wait to come back next year!

Visited The Lodge and Spa at Callaway Gardens this...

Visited The Lodge and Spa at Callaway Gardens this weekend and overall had a great time; however, I left with a very poor impression about how Callaway handles business. On two different occasions while I was on-site, I was overcharged for services and had to correct the front desk and the receptionist at the Spa. The first experience was at the Spa. Upon arrival, I was told about the special that they were running where if you purchased the collagen eye treatment you would receive the hot stone massage add-on for free. I agreed to the purchase, but then was charged for the hot stone add-on. Additionally at the Spa, while receiving the collagen eye treatment add-on, the strips were not placed properly and one strip ended up on my cheek instead. My massage therapist apologized profusely and told me she had the charge for the treatment removed. I was still charged for the treatment by the receptionist. So in total at the Spa, I was charged for the hot stone add-on when it was supposed to be free with the eye treatment, and I was also charged for a botched collagen eye treatment. When given my total and asked for my card, I asked how my total was calculated, and they responded by saying that there was a service charge that I was not accounting for in the total. They would not provide me with an itemized review of my services. After some back and forth, the charge for the hot stone add-on was removed, but I still had to pay for the botched collagen eye treatment that my massage therapist said she would removed. My second overcharge came at checkout. In my package, I was suppose to have breakfast included. It was not till after my card was charged that I received an itemized detail of the charges to my room to review. She handed me my receipt and I was charged for breakfast. I pointed it out to the front desk, and she removed the charge. If I had not questioned both, I would have been overcharged somewhere between $40 and $60, and I was charged for a botched service.

Also wanted to share, the manicure I received and paid $70 for was sub-standard. The polish is already chipping, and I still have dry places that needed more attention. In Atlanta, I could have gone to a nail salon and received an SNS manicure AND a gel pedicure of extremely better quality than what I received at the Spa for the same price of $84 ($70 plus $14 service fee).

This has always been an overarching issue with Callaway. There confirmation emails do not give good detail and overview of your stay comparative to other hotel and spas such as Old Edwards Inn. One big paragraph with no links to directions, where to park, etc.

High notes of my trip. The massage was amazing. My view from my room was breath-taking, and the carson brew was delightful.

Will return, but will demand much better service and high standards and transparency of charges.
