Has a nice view lots of pools and hot tubs right on the beach but the house keeping sucks

This resort is amazing! I stayed here last year for 2 nights. This year I am coming for a whole week. I just wanted to recognize a Landmark employee that works in reservations. Due to some unexpected travel plans my family had to change their flights. I called Landmark to change our check in day and inquire about upgrading our room. Monique was an absolute gem. She was very kind and pleasant, answered all of my questions, and helped me upgrade to an oceanfront suite. Thank you for all of your help Monique. Your customer service was beyond exceptional!

Only the lobby looks clean. Several pools but one was dirty, had debris and two dead water bugs. About 3-4 had closed signs on them. No chlorine smell in the pool area even though the pool keeper said they put chlorine in it every 30 minutes. Hard to believe! Carpet on floor 3,4 dirty and had a urine smell. Everytime we got off the elevator the hall smelled like weed, urine, sewer. Towels in my room has long blonde hair from previous guest. Called front desk and it took about 1.5 hours for housekeeping to arrive. Toilet didn t have the tape on it to indicate clean. Overall, poor maintenance, need major cleaning of carpet & rooms and upgrades. One positive is free parking onsite. Good location on the beach.

We drove 700 miles when I got there I asked to see the room before check in (the staff was very kind) so they gave me the key I got to the elevator and when it opens the rubber tile was ripped up . I let that go cause 3am I was tired. As I got off the 9th floor I almost Pucked there was hole in the walls that was half repaired. The room was substandared. The beds was so small if there was more than one person in it you would be on top of each other. Now iam at the comfort suites. No refund and had to find another place to stay

Booked this BEAUTIFUL Resort back in February. My mom was assured all accommodations would be to our liking. We are travelers so we spare no expense to be comfortable. Well that was NOT the case here. After driving about 12 hours and checking in August 20th around 9:30pm things went down hill. First my mom checked in and was told the two suutes which were reserved for her back in February were not avail till the next day. (Might i add she PAID in advance) she was also told by the rude worker that no other suites were avail that night. So my mom took the two suites on the 7th and 8th floor. What a nightmare. One suite was SMELLY, CARPET WAS PROTRUDING FROM THE FLOOR AND THE FRIDGE WAS LEAKING. NO PLACE FOR MY ENEMY TO STAY. IM ASTHMATIC AND IT WAS HORRIBLE. I went to check out the other suite, just darn horrible. The roaches met us at the door. The linen was dirty as well. I refused to lay may head there. We paid $1700 for a 4/5 night stay in two suites, 12 family members. Landmark was supposed to be the icing on the cake for our 2 week vacation. I went back to the lobby to speak with management. There were a few workers who were clueless. I was told each unit has a different owner and its up to the owners to keep the places up. I was told some places are much better cleaned and decorated than others. Pretty much landmark just rent for the owners. Well here is the kicker. I was sent to see a few more rooms on the 3rd and 4th floor. Mind u we were told there were no vacancies. Lies!! These suites wasnt much better. We moved and the roaches moved with us. Just sickening. Finally saw 2 that was just a tad bit better. Being that it was so late we had to stay. Most of us didnt sleep. Mom sat up in a chair. JUST DOWN RIGHT DISGUSTING. 9 AM Next morning we had to go. As a MANAGER and worker with the public i was uneased. This was by far the WORST EXPERIENCE We've Encountered in all our years of traveling. I will not recommend this place. I do have pictures that were also sent to the corporate office. Lastly I will say MISS PENNY at the landmark was the ONLY person to care and professionally try to assist.

It's pretty nice and fairly clean, and the staff is all very nice and diligent, but I feel like the place could do with some renovation.

Tub stopped up, incident at pool, daughter got hit, security terrible

The staff was very helpful with my delivery of a mobility scooter for a handicap customer.

Checked out today. Very disappointed. Huge part of hotel had no electricity. This meant pool snack bar, bar and shops all closed. Elevators out of service which meant long walks to room. Pool restroom ito of order.
Beds were very hard and old pillows. Blankets had holes. Roaches in room (we took video). Pools kept closing due to chemicals. Poor customer service. House keeping ignored do not disturb sign. So very disappointed.

This hotel was a life saver. We booked a different hotel in the nasty Sea Mist hotel in the Sandcastle building months in advanced. Long story short, Sea Mist was moldy, disgusting and scary. We got a refund and tried to find others and that s when I found this. The people at the front desk were so wonderful and helpful! It was clean, nice. More hotel like rather than motel like. Elevators and rooms on the inside! Housekeeping is very nice as well! This hotel saved our vacation. Available for the week we needed LAST MINUTE. The indoor and outdoor pools are fabulous!

My family chose this resort to stay at on our vacation I will not stay here on my next visit to myrtle beach! The pools are not clean and the bathrooms are very nasty (no tolet paper or paper towels ) they double booked my room and u can never find luggage carts. However he did upgrade my room after the room disaster but I would not recommend this hotel I'm not coming back.

I was bad I hated that place it had no cleaning and they were not completely good in service but 5 and - love it but I so people's faces you would want to laugh I hate that place never going back

Nice corner room suit with two room beach view great indoor heated swimming complex fun for everyone

Myself and the kids really enjoyed our stay. They have great pools hottubs and lazy rivers. The employees are really nice and helpful.

This place is like a maze ,it's huge but lots of swimming pools indoors and out , parking garage ,rooms are nice .

I keep telling my husband that I won t come back but I keep coming back with the hopes that things have changed. Well they haven t.. this will be my last time staying here. Over crowded with ignorant adults. Pools were very dirty with big nasty bugs. Our key card wouldn t work most of the time. I wouldn t recommend this hotel at all!

This resort is incredibly run down and the common areas are super dirty. The elevators are always wet and have trash on the floor, the carpet and walls in the hallways are filthy and literally EVERY hallway smells like old soggy French fries and is incredibly humid. My 4 year old even complained about the smell. I wouldn t even let her go in any pools or hot tubs after seeing how poorly kept this place is. We stuck to the beach (at the state park - we wanted to spend as much time away from the resort as possible)

The parking garage and walkway to the resort and entrance to the resort is totally accessible to the public so god knows who wanders in.

The only saving grace was that while outdated, our room was clean and didn t have roaches like some of the other reviews state.

Check in is horrible! Halls are not clean. Pools are highly chlorinated. Personnel is very friendly and accommodating. Entire campus could be much cleaner.

Lots of amenities, rooms were clean and we'll maintained.

My vacation was awesome there . There is 17 pool spas there . Plus a waterpark which is awesome . My room was clean and nice. There is two lazy rivers. On Tuesday we tried to open the door with the cards and they would open so we had to go to the lobby to get new cards. Before that we went to Charleston. At night we went to the arcade near the family amusement park. We got 400 tickets I got a extreme airhead thingy. Trust me the resort is awesome.

NEVER go here! We walked in and felt extremely uncomfortable. The place was dirty, smelly, old and DOES NOT match the pictures online at all! They clearly stole the pictures from another website.
We tried to give it the benefit of the doubt by eating lunch at the hotel to see how we felt after a few minutes, but the "fryers" were broken, so they could not serve anything hot. I asked about the "other restaurants" that were supposedly on site, and the server told us that there was only 1 restaurant and looked at me like I was stupid.
I was truly horrified and we never checked in. I cannot even imagine what the rooms must have been like, but reading other people's posts I am not surprised.
This place is TRASH!

Room was very dirty, old, outdated, and not clean. The sheets on all 3 of our beds were stained. The murphy bed was very difficult to get down from the wall. We reserved a Deluxe Angle Suite, there was nothing Deluxe about this room. Except deluxe in disgust. The pictures looked nothing like what was on the website. The carpet was soggy inside the room and in all the hallways. I can say the manager at the resort was very accommodating. She let me view 3 other rooms, in hopes of getting us to stay in another room. Sadly they were just as run down and gross. I was refunded my full amount. But please BEWARE, not all of the rooms at this resort are the same, or are in accordance to their pictures!. The rest of the hotel had the same theme; old, rundown, and not worth the money they are charging.

We stayed at the Landmark in room 451.Would not reccomend this room to anyone. The noise from the crosswalk was horrible. Tried to upgrade our room but they wanted more money.We didn't get much rest at all.

Great staff, the 2 bedroom suite was enough to fit 10-12 people comfortably. It has its own Jacuzzi. Close to everything, walking distance to Walmart and other major stores and groceries. Plenty of parking.

I was there this past weekend and me nor my family enjoyed our stay there the whole weekend we had no internet and the water went out and we didn't get notified or anything so we didn't have water at all . The front restroom was NASTY I had to go tell the front desk clerk about it. The rooms needs some improving especially the sofa I had to put some sheets on it just to sit down I felt like something was crawling on me just being in the room my kids said the same. The maids just walk in your room without knocking this gypsy lady kept walking into our room when was on duty. I will never go back to this place again. I feel that I need some of my money back. The only thing that I enjoyed was the restaurant which is very reasonable and the staff was friendly.

The landmark resort was the WORST HOTEL STAY EVER.

A nightmare really.

1. Women s pool restrooms had hardly any water to wash hands and smelled terrible
2. Toilet in our room broke
3. Shower in room 744 was broke
4. Carpet in room smelled damp like mold
5. Stove burner was broke and didn t turn on
6. Ice machine was broke on our floor
7 cleaning service never came each day to make our beds. We had the same makeup stain on pillows for a 10 day stay. How gross.
8. Lights in kitchen went out and took days to get fixed.
9. Horrible whistling noise from our room door
10. Elevators were broke part of our stay.
11. Had to ask for all of our breakfast tickets when we checked in, we were short 6 tickets.
12. Hot tub was contaminated with trash
13. Pool restaurant was closed at 5pm on a Friday.
14. Lazy rivers had no water movement.
15. Check in line was 10 people long and took almost an hour to get to the counter and get checked in.
16. Trash cans on pool deck always overflowing.
17. This hotel use to be nice. If I could truly rate it I would say -10. Management has A LOT of work to do if they want it to look like their website photos online.

We paid over $6000 for our 2 rooms for the two week stay. We have stayed here for the past 20+years and we will NEVER COME BACK due to the abundance of problems. I m beyond irritated that we paid that much money for such a dump of a hotel. To call this a resort and make it appear so clean online is criminal. I will be reporting to the BBB. I have done a yelp review with these same photos and information.
It is just not right and not fair to trick families into staying at a place that does not match the photos online in the slightest. Where is the management and how did it get to such a disgusting level of filth?

Always a great experience! Front desk receptionist, house keeping, you name it! All of super helpful and go out of their way to make it a great experience!! Been going 12 years and will continue to go!!

This resort is disgusting and was very disappointing for my family and I. We couldn t even stay one night due to the conditions of our room and ended up finding another location shortly after discovering this. I am highly disappointed as it has placed a halt on my vacation. You would think with RESORT in the title it will be very updated and modern... instead we resorted to another location.

Room was clean, big bathroom and kitchenette was nice, but my room didn't have a beach view. (Although it was close to the beach)

Our family enjoyed this facility, the customer service was really good as well. The room was clean and up to date, and there was a lot to do without leaving the premises.

Friendly staff, nice pools and hot tubs. Didn't like smelling marijuana everyday. The beds hurt my back. Paper towels would've been nice to have. The elderly lady at mini golf was really friendly

Worst service ever .... rooms look way better in the pictures . The room cleanliness was really bad, found things as soon as I entered the room. Definitely never coming back.

Nothing luxury here. It's dirty. I feel gross just sitting in here. I would not recommend. There are plenty of cleaner options. I'm seriously going to take a bath in bleach when I get home. Haven't been to the pool yet but I'm kinda worried I'd get an infection from it.. Ew and the beds are extremely hard.

So many pools and hot tubs. Very polite and respectful staff. The beds could be bigger.

My favorite hotel when on the beach. My kids love all the different pool options this place provides. Very friendly and clean.

It was alright. The rooms need to be updated and the air conditioner in our room was too loud. The shower head was too low. I think I needed a map for the hotel lol. Got lost a couple times. They did have very nice staff though!

Horrible experience. We asked for a non smoking room, and was given a smoking room. We moved rooms, and our new room reeked of pot. Room layout was not as displayed online. Staff was very rude towards us and our requests on trying to get our rooms fixed.

Checked into room only to be welcomed by cockroaches. Not one not two but several. They moved us to another room and we were met by cockroaches again. My weekend stay was terrible. Was in Myrtle Beach for my sons AAU tournament.

Lots of activities on site, several pools, putt putt golf, several bars, restaurants, Starbucks. Friendly staff. Very convenient. 2nd time staying here, definitely will book this hotel again

We moved 3 time in a three night stay. The 1st time the room was small and had no view of the beach (paid for a ocean view), a view of the next hotel. So, I had to pay another $105 for a oceanfront. That room had ROACHES. They sent someone to check the room out for the bugs. They switched us again and that room was a lot better. Landmark Resort has really gone down from the beauty it use to be.

Older establishment, not very well maintained and not very clean, especially given the rates were so high. Check in time was at 3, but they didn't have our suite ready until after 6:30.

The pool of this place is bomb! The best I seen on this side of the Boardwalk.

This was our view from our room. Didn't get coffee packets replaced each day. Had to ask for more towels. A plus for this hotel were the restaurants and good food.

Friendly staff but the cleanliness of this "resort" is not right. Sour smell throughout the building, hallways and elevators. Smell is unbearable at times. Pool need serious cleaning and proper treatment, as they smell like bleach. Killed a roach in our bedroom and saw 2 roaches at the indoor pool. Just nasty. We were not comfortable the entire stay of 3 days. Seriously considered just paying for a room somewhere else but we were traveling with others staying here also. Great location to beach, but that is about it. Patio stinks bc of wet carpet outside. Rust on a lot of things inside the room. Wet smell in the room also. Will not be back to this resort. Not up to our standards.

Front desk staff was amazing. Been coming for over 10 years to this hotel since I was a teenager with my family. This year was horrible. Room was not clean, bugs in my room. Lady at splash park pool and putt putt was mean and rude yelling at my kids. Security guard at the pool was rude yelling at my kids. Manager was rude and accused us of stealing towels from the room. Nothing worked right. Hotel is old and run down. I will never be back again. Wish my kids could have seen it back in the day.

Wasn t horrible! We got the inside room versus the outside patio type. It s a big difference. Our room was nice and clean as well as the inside hallways. Up to date. However, the outdoor hallways smelled of a horrible musty odor. The pools looked like they could use a cleaning. The staff was okay! Nothing special. It s an old hotel that could use a serious paint job and sprucing up. We did enjoy our stay.

Over a two hour wait to check in and the rooms weren't even ready, and we had booked these rooms in February! Had an ocean front room, but don't believe the pictures on the website looked nowhere near the rooms...coffee pot and toaster were broken...roaches everywhere i would never stay here again. For my first vacation ever this hotel was extremely dissapointing.

We had an ocean room view with our room. The room was clean and spacious. The only thing was that two of the burners on our stove did not work. Other hotels we have stayed at didn't clean our room while we where there, they cleaned ours daily here. However you do have to pay for toiletries so don't forget them. They have a few poolside eateries but they all close at 6 pm. The elevators take a long time and there is no air conditioning in the halls for the hotel. Overall we enjoyed our stay.

We love this place! The staff is awesome & the rooms are clean & newly renovated. We highly recommend it!

I was told my room was ocean front. Not true more like ocean view. My room balcony faced the paid parking lot and the smell of the huge garbage dumpster. It appears the hotel did a "lipstick" renovation. Overall, needs a major "professional" haul from top to bottom. Poor lighting in common areas at night a bit dirty. I'm still waiting on my $100.00 hotel hold. I was told it would be release after check out.......still waiting!

The photos are great. The actual experience, not so much. The place needs a major update and deep cleaning. The elevators are always wet, the walkways have a horrible odor, palmetto bugs, and the staff gave me a very hard time using my food credit. The room was clean but I will not go back.

Landmark has been great. The view of the beach is really nice and the staff has been very helpful.

My room was not ready for another half hour. The check in process was extremely slow. There was a manager helping out who had no clue where stuff was. Not enough elevators. Our refrigerator was broke. People just let their kids run alone in the resort. Housekeeping was rude. The room was decent for the price. We probably will not stay there again.

The locals call it "Dirty Myrtle" for a reason. Dirty accommodations, seedy area, management is full of attitude. Never going back!

The room was ok. The service was ok. The pools were not kept up. The lazy river had toliet paper floating in it. The inside pool was cold the hot tubs are not hot enough.

It was cute. It's an old hotel but fairly clean. The kids loved the pool. Location is what really did it for me. Very close to everything!

It needs updated. A good paint job on the corridors would be in order. It looks dark, dingy and dirty. The bar could use some updates but food was good. The breakfast buffet was mediocre. Parking is a hike across the street in deck. Staff was friendly and courteous. I wouldn't stay again. We were disappointed.

Overall my experience was nice, however the building seems old and need some cosmetic improvements. We ended up staying changing room spins after we checked innbecause the room we were initially assigned had a strong musty smell, we were then offered and upgraded room that smelled slightly better, but we got used to the smell and did not notice it. The room were ocean front room and I am guessing a combination of old carpets and ocean breeze were responsible for the odor. Smelly rooms aside. The staff were courteous and helpful and the kids and adults enjoyed the pletoria of pools and the beach. During the time we were there they also had 2 magic/comedy shoes, live pool dj and a pirate with birds.

We had a great stay here. Everything went smooth from start to finish, and the staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and well kept.

Got there stood in line 48mins trying too get checked in, I paid for ocean view. I got side view the lady at the front desk told me I have ask for ocean front, all the pools were closed because of the storm. There were spots on my pillows and the tv wasn't clear and the remote didn't work.I don't think I will be staying there anymore.

The Landmark Resort has staff that is not o ly friendly, but very helpful as well. The pool was a relief from the heat, and he balcony gives a beautiful view of the ocean.

The check in was a nightmare. I paid in advance but girls r very slow and disorganized. Right at the beach and have four big indoor pools. That's is a plus. Once u check in, then it's fun.

My boyfriend and I are college students who stayed on the tenth floor. We did not have the highest expectations coming in to it. Hallways smell bad but our room was nice. Soooo much to do with all of the different pools and being right by the ocean. Our shower did not have hot water. We did see a roach dead on the floor by indoor pool. The bar and food by the outdoor pool was also great. They also held onto our suitcase because we checked our but had a later flight. Overall- you get what you pay for. We didn t come thinking it would be 5 star. Would definitely stay again!

the rooms were great. staff helpful and friendly. great location right off the beach. looking forward too coming back sometine soon.

Very good for the money. Negatives- beds are terrible very uncomfortable and for the price range they could upgrade to queen size instead of full and the water pressure in shower was nonexistent. Positives- Pools were very nice with all the hot tubs available and lazy rivers. Overall not a great stay it's our 2nd time hear and will come back.

Very poor customer service! Called for a shuttle 3 times and took 30 minutes to send!! Then was placed into 3 different hotel rooms due to the company stating that the rooms are not updated per the company but individually owned! Rooms were unclean and outdated and staff were not willing to accompdate my party due to our unsatisfied experience

It's okay. One tower is remodeled and is nicer then the other one which was infested with roaches when I stayed there.

The rooms are spacious and very clean, the view oceanfront is breathtaking, you also have a overhead view of one of the outside pools. The wait staff is very friendly, and very accommodating. My husband and I love this place and will definitely be going again

Right away the first impression walking thru the hallway to get to the elevator was not very good. Arcade very unsafe for smaller children, outdated and didnt look sanitary at all. Once off the elevator to our floor the smell of marijuana was strong. As we kept walking what seemed like forever to our room and thru a door to another long hallway which is hard to get thru when you pulling a luggage cart and have a stroller, there was still a very musty odor. Once to our room, you could smell it had been smoked in. Both ac units, lr and br made the smell worse.
The tile floor was very oily feeling the one time I walked on it barefoot. The stove was very outdated and the burner would not attach correctly.
Overall between the smell and lack of overall appearance and cleanliness, it gave us an immediate bad impression. We arrived at 1am just to sleep there until we could get to our other location the following morning. We couldn't sleep well and all woke up feeling congested from the ac and smells.
I had hoped to spend the day and use the pools etc but could not get out of there fast enough.
The place has definently gone down hill in the past 7yrs since staying.

Love the Beach access and alot of things in walking distance on the strip.

I will not return. This hotel had roaches , smell awful, the kitchen stove didn t work and the customer service is horrible . I checked in at night time and I had to wait about 20 minutes before someone came from the back room to check me in.

They dont do house keeping everyday unless the room is vacant. But other then that is was nice.

Rooms were kind of average, my gf had to change 2 times when we checked in... 1st room Smelled like cig smoke, 2nd had dirty couch. other than the room the pool area was lovely and the staff was great..

Nice place but needs a fresh look. Paint would help.

This place is so amazing there is so much to do here and at very low prices and i couldnt ask for a better hotel to stay at i love the landmark resort

Great value. Multiple indoor and outdoor pools; very clean. Easy, close beach access.
