Went for a holiday buffet style. I think the staff could have really put some effort into keeping the tables clean around the food. Super dirty and not kept after. Also some light music instead of just hearing chatter.

There for a breakfast buffet. It was horrible! If it should have been hot,it was cold. If it should have been cold, it was hot. Poor selection, poor taste, worst breakfast buffet... worst breakfast period!

My husband and I celebrated our 22nd anniversary here. The room was beautiful very comfortable and spacious. I want to give a special thanks to Marquita at the front desk. She was very pleasant. She made us feel welcome. We'll be sure to come again. Once again thanks Marquita your the best.

Hell on earth! My husband and I decided to go see the fireworks for New Years Eve along with our 4 year old. The next day we wanted to go to the outlets in Lancaster. We didn't have a ton of money to spend for a room we would be sleeping in for 7 hours so I opted for Price line.
We got stuck with this 1 star compound dive. We arrived at 8 pm. The 17 year old checking us in knew nothing. When we asked what restaurants close by were good he said, "I don't have a car so I don't go to many places."
We wanted to get somewhere to eat before everything shut down so we didn't unpack and check out the room. After returning late from the fireworks at the Pagoda we came back to the dive creepy compound.
There were boxes of trash outside of our building with 2 million cigarette buttes. The entryway looked like the Brady Bunch home. Our room was 800 degrees and reeked of mold. The carpet was filthy and peeling up from the floor. The furniture was dusty, the dust ruffles were ripped, as were the sheets. There was hair on the walls that had been painted over. God only knows what was on the sheets and bedspread.
I walk into the bathroom and it is old, and creepy. There is giant slab of granite drilled into the ceiling. Mold central!
We were hoping to have breakfast at the hotel/compound so we could go shopping. Oh, the restaurant was closed at 10 am. We had to drive all around finding a place that was open. Yes, we googled several but a lot of breakfast places weren't open New Years Day.
So, it gets better. Price line would not refund my money. I has first called The Inn at Reading. Chris, the manager never returned my call. Price line finally gave me the direct number to the manager of The Inn at Reading. The manager, Chris B. was cocky, obnoxious, and pretentious, and incredibly insensitive. He told me I was making things up, and that his hotel was always impeccable. No apology was given, no refund, no discounts, absolutely nothing. So, as a new family tradition, we will return to the Reading area for the New Year but we won't return to this tacky, depressing, and grotesque compound!

I really like this hotel. I had to stay a few nights for a conference and I loved it so much that I booked another few nights at another time for myself and my husband to just relax. I've stayed 3 times so far and each time is great.
The rooms are very clean and spacious, the staff was incredibly friendly, and I can't go on enough about the restaurant. THE FOOD IS INCREDIBLE!!
This hotel is just enough out of the way of the city to be quiet but close enough to be within 5-10 minutes of everything.Shopping, movies, food (not that you need to leave the place for great food).
I just love it.

Long wait at check in. We then missed being able to eat at the restaurant bc it took 45 mins to check in. If we would have know that we would have just ate 1st. Al the morning buffet was cold n had to wait bc all the tables werent clean. Got fed up n just checkout n ate at a restaurant on our way home. Room was okay smelled odd. But was pretty clean. No bugs & hair in the room so that's always a plus for me

What a frustration! First they could not find my booking in the system. Then the credit card machine did not work. Then I got lost on the property as the receptionist got the directions to my room wrong. Then the card to open the door did not work so I had to take to back to be reprogrammed. And finally, the TV did not work.

Decent hotel in an interesting area. The fixtures and carpet are quite dated, but overall everything was clean and well kept. The bed was pretty comfortable for a hotel in that price range. Staff was courteous. I disliked how little pressure the shower head had, made it difficult to wash my long and thick hair (I actually resorted to leaning over and washing it in the tub faucet rather than the shower head, which is pretty sad). Breakfast didn't look worth the extra $10 per head, I did not try it. I would consider staying here again if I was in the area.

The only reason I didn't rate this place lower is the catering/restaurant staff. They were excellent. But, the rest of my experience was very disappointing. I was there for a conference and it was my first time at this hotel. The first unpleasant surprise was how far the rooms were from the front desk and the conference rooms. The rooms are in separate buildings, though they are all connected internally. There was no elevator (not a huge issue as there was ramp access from inside and I do not have mobility issues, but important to know). Who needs a fitness center when you get a workout going back and forth to the room? Then there was maintenance - so many signs of decline and lack of care. Drawers that didn't close, rust, and fraying carpets abounded. There was a leak in the roof in the hall by the conference rooms. No vent in the bathroom to deal with steam from the shower (and water was HOT - something I personally like, but might be uncomfortable for others). Several people said the heat in their rooms didn't work. There were also subtle signs that the staff just didn't care. The bed being made with tags by the head instead of the feet. Dirty dishes in the clean stack at the buffet. Having to call the front desk multiple times to get someone to answer. I also felt the beds were very uncomfortable - they squeaked with every movement and were lumpy. I was not the only person to express that opinion. Oh - and they were stingy with towels, which were rough, small, and in short supply. Last but not least, they don't care about guest security. I had a roommate I'd not previously met. I had not told the front desk to expect them, thinking I'd meet them at the front desk on arrival to get them a key. Instead, I found out at dinner when I saw my roommate that the front desk just gave them a key! No phone call to verify, no notification. In this case it was ok, but it could have been a problem and I felt very uncomfortable with the front desk's actions.

This is a minimalistic motel. The water in the bathroom is hot. The sheets are clean and you get basic cable. It s pet friendly so if you have cats or dogs it s a decent place to go. The WiFi is not great, the vending machine in our building doesn t accept dollar bills and the ice machine isn t working. It s a place to sleep Safely the only complaint I had was the blankets. They were thin and not warm. Other than that you get a standard room with two double beds a desk a small table a tv and dresser and a night table in between the beds. You get a bathroom with a high seated toilet and a bathtub that Is not easy to get into unless you use the safety bars. This is their idea of handicapped room... They seriously need to go through and redo the ada standards so it s safer for people like my dad who can t lift his leg that high.
Not enough towels for three people and house keeping hasn t even attempted to come in to tidy up. Been here three days will probably be here seven or more days.
Overall - not the best but not the worst. No bugs or mice
Negatives- Not up to Ada standards, no elevators in buildings
Was difficult to find a luggage cart to carry all our stuff in

Let me start by saying I don't usually post reviews so this was such an experience that i felt an obligation to do so.
We were hosting a reunion for families that adopted from Russia. This is a group that is used to staying at a Mariott or Hilton. We had planned and booked our group to staying at the Homewood suites and were all set until they had a water main break and had to cancel everyone's reservation. We were feeling pressure to make a reservation rather fast someplace else. We looked at the other places around Reading, even looked into the Marriott but they were in my opinion overpriced and booked up pretty good. We also needed a place with a large pool which they didn't have. They recommended we look at the Inn at Reading. I have to say, my first feeling was, I don't think this will work due to the building being so old (its around 50 years old). We met with Tony that afternoon and he showed us some rooms, the very large pool, met our pricing quote that we found on line previously and was willing to accommodate anything we needed to make this event a success. After viewing the pool area and discussing a possible buffet catered we were sold.
Every aspect of our reunion was a success!!
While the building is old and could really use some good ol' TLC, the staff members were great to deal with, Tony helped make the Hotel part of the event go without a hitch. I gave him a budget we had to work with for dinner and they accommodated that and then some. I was totally impressed. The guests said the rooms were old but very clean and that's what mattered to me.
The evening buffet or 2 pasta dishes, 3 types of pizza, salad, drinks and dessert were all delicious and well presented. We were able to take advantage of the pool side buffet allowing the children and some adults to enjoy the pool while taking our time with dinner. The staff were fabulous!!!! Janice and the other lady (I'm sorry but I cant remember her name) were so good at seeing what we needed and keeping up on the drinks etc so that we didn't run out. You gals were awesome!!
The next morning we had an entire section of the restaurant reserved for those who wanted to enjoy the very inexpensive and delicious brunch. It couldn't have gone any better and I would absolutely consider them again for our next event.
HUGE thank you to Tony and your staff members for making this a reunion we will be talking about for years!!!

Hallways were a little dirty and plates of food around but the room was clean and bed was soft. But I was there for 3 night and housekeeping never came in til I said something. Will not be going back.

I stayed at the Inn at Reading for many years in The Executive Quarters for the Berks Jazz Fest. I always had a wonderful stay. I was unable to get a reservation for the Executive rooms this year and am disappointed to report my recent stay was horrible. The 1st room had a disgusting matress that should be thrown out (blood, urine and sweat stains). If the housekeeping and management staff would keep a mattress in this condition in use, than what other things are not being addressed properly. It concerns me that the mattress could be flipped to hide unsanitary conditions.

The 2nd room assigned was also in need of repair. The entry into the C building and rooms are old, musky and in need of serious updates. There was also trash outside the door (entry 7).

The Berks Jazz Fest draws a large tourist population and The Inn at Reading sees a lot of guests and artists for this event. After this experience unless improvements are made I'll never stay here again.

The first room i was in the TV didn't work, they changed me to another room.
Overall the room was clean and nice looking however the smell of cigarettes and Marijuana is overwhelming throughout the hallways. The main door to the building I was in, didn't lock like it should-lack of security.
The walls are paper thin, I often heard people talking, arguing, playing music, etc. You get what you pay for and this was an emergency stay but I will never stay there again, sometimes it's best to just put out more money.

This was a pleasant surprise. Our room was amazing, when you consider how little it costed. It turned out that the heat wasn't working properly in our room so they upgraded us to a much larger two room suite with two baths. We were very happy and will be back soon.

This would have been higher if it wasn't for housekeeping banging on the door at 830am, even with do not disturb in the lock! The room was damp, floors where damp, everything just felt damp... They had the fan running bringing in all the moist air so maybe that was it. On the positive: Beds we're comfortable! And plenty of hot water! Also the evening clerk was amazingly friendly! Let's see how breakfast does.

My family and I sat for the Easter buffet. The waiter, Raymond, was incredible: friendly, attentive and entertaining, even though he was obviously serving a large number of tables. The food was good, but not necessarily great. Overall, we had a nice time.

Clean room, free upgrade, centrally located and a great price.

The Sunday brunch was limited and a bit overpriced when all they really offered was shambled eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes an omelet station and drinks. The brunch menu mentioned several other items, but all were listed as 'optional', so don't be fooled by the list.

I lived in Reading area most of my life and I always remember the Inn at Reading as a Majestic/Prestigious Hotel...I Reserved an Executive King non-smoking- after checking in we arrived at our room and opened the door we were given a regular room with 2 dbl beds. When I questioned the front desk they said they "were out" of that room type due to 2 weddings going on...we were stuck since the room was pre-paid. There was a terrible smell in the hallway and in our room. No cold water so we had to be moved to another room-still dbl beds though! NO "free/complimentary " ANYTHING on the weekends- ordered room service and food was cold. The place looked dirty!!! The prestige I had for this place is gone. I have since cancelled my upcoming reservation and I will never stay there again!

Terrible hotel staff at front desk oversold my room an many others on a holiday weekend. Apparently this is how they run there business. 0 out of 5 stars worst hotel staff I've ever seen most ghetto acting emoyees ever!

I will start out by saying the building and rooms although under construction looks wonderful. However the construction crew or someone working woke us up at 2:30 in the morning. To top it off the shower did not drain and didn't have proper pressure.

One of the worst hotel which I ever stayed in. Their service was horrible. I booked the room for three nights but after a night the hotel asked me to check out. They booked a room in Days Inn and I had to move with my wife and three kids. It was a hard time for us. Since I don't have dislike button I gave one star.

The place looks amazing! Unfortunately that s where our experience stopped. People coming to their rooms at 6:30am clearly not being able to read if they are trying to get into OUR room with the DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door. Only for them to finally realize that the numbers on the side of the door stands for the room number. Followed by a wonderful phone conversation for a half hour with the F bomb constantly being dropped...in the hallway mind you. Very appropriate for families and children. To top it all off, listening to them enjoy each other. It s not Sunday, the Lords name does not have to be yelled that loud today, Sir! And if so, maybe let your with enjoy? <br/> Oh but wait, let s not forget that we now have to trek OURSELVES to the front desk because our room keys DEACTIVATED. That happens sometimes. Great, YOU bring me the key for OUR inconvenience.

I was there for my high school's prom and overall I thought it was a pretty good place for such an event. The place just has a nice, classy feel to it and the service was very good. The only thing I didn't like about it was the size of the dance floor. It would be fine for an average sized gathering, but it was very crowded for all the kids trying to have a good time. Other than that though, I can't find anything else bad about it.
