A nice, clean hotel, however we found the staff very unhospitable upon our arrival. There was some mistake with their booking website and my friend s card somehow did not go through. However, she still had a confirmation of the booking. Instead of apologizing and taking the time to explain, they were frustrated with us when my friend wanted to take a few minutes to check her account and confirm no payment had already gone through. Instead, the front desk manager impatiently snaps at us as if it s absurd to be confused about getting a confirmation and no former notice that payment did not occur and wanting to ensure there is a not a double payment. They also put a 75.00 incidental hold on her card - without telling her the amount. Putting a card down for incidentals is, of course, commonplace, however I ve never heard of an extra 75.00 hold and guests should be notified of this beforehand. All in all, I found the hotel to be rather coarse and unfriendly in these interactions.

Staff was friendly enough, little frustrating getting up to the 11th floor as the amount of time it takes the elevators to reach the lobby again give us ample time for crowds to form and you get to fight for who gets on the elevator. Only two of the elevator seem to be working the entire time we were there as the other two seem to never reach the lobby. The biggest recommendation that I can make is one, bring your own pillow. This is good advice for anytime you travel, however the pillows at Hamilton make me Envy the animals outside to get to sleep with their head on rocks. At least those rocks don't promise some kind of support and then magically disappear when your head hits them. I also highly recommend not using peppermint shampoo. It suggests there may be tingling, I'm actually on my way to see a dermatologist for what skin is left on my head. Other than that, fantastic stay. Highly recommend. I am however being liberal with the term highly.

Our group rented a hall at the hotel for an event, and everything worked out extremely well.
Great buffet. Very friendly staff.
This place is really peaceful, clean, well-kept, and beautiful. The owners are wonderful and truly kind people.
I felt relaxed, comfortable, and happy during my stay. The property had everything we needed. Definitely would recommend to everyone..

The room itself was really nice. Problems arose when there was only 3 towels to use between 4 and the fact that there was no lock on the bathroom door. Other than that, the rest was amazing. Especially the view over the park from the 8th floor

Where do I start? First off, the maid crew. We stayed five days, slept late many of them and were in and out at all crazy times. Somehow, they managed to get to our room every single day. And they didn't just tidy up! New sheets, new towels, vacuum...every single day. The staff downstairs was just as awesome. Very helpful, friendly, and funny. This is a lot more like a five star hotel than a four. Very impressed.

When we checked in for our hotel, i was happy because we felt welcome as the concierge was happy to answer wll our questions with a smile. Then today , i needed help even i felt like i did not have to because i did not trouble anyone, but two employees in the Lobby did help me to look for what i need, and they were happy to and also found it which i never expect that it will be found! I appreciated that all the employees were willing to help me found what I was looking for ! I thank khalidand Manuel for helping me!

Accommodations were decent and clean but was expecting better. Staff was friendly. The renovation entrance was sketchy and carrying my luggage downstairs was not fun. Hurt my arm. It was quite loud in hallways all night and I didn t sleep well. Overall ok experience - my guess is that I would ve enjoyed it more without renovation and my circumstances of staying there.

Nice place but a couple issues like no TV guide in my queen suite (which was very nice), slow drain in sink and no stir sticks for coffee my second day. Restaurant is small. It was my 50th HS reunion and the food was very good. Free breakfast were great except expect a wait for the omelettes, usually only one cook doing them.

The interior design evoked an upscale setting; the polite and respectful staff added to it as well. The only practical issue that I had to face was the excessive faultiness of the key card, and it's frequent inability to access the elevator. Also, the wait time for the elevators, provided that there are so many guests, was profuse at times. But overall, the experience and stay was worth it.

Staff is friendly, but they charge $25/night "facility fee" or "resort fee" in addition to the regular night cost. However, they don't even have a breakfast dining area. Breakfast is for room delivery only.

Location is prime - around 10-15 restaurants and bars in and around a one mile radius. The room was affordable and fitting of a 3/4 star hotel. Definitely a place to guest a room on trips to DC. Downtown fun.

Pros: Fairly priced room. Location, clean, free wifi if become member of loyalty program of some kind.
Cons: Parking - valet $45/night extra , wifi $13/night, breakfast not included. No microwave, no fridge, no exhaust fan in bathroom.

I called to cancel my reservation and was told that I needed to speak to a manager at the hotel. The hotel did not answer the phone nor did it return any of my messages. When I arrived in DC, I visited the hotel and spoke with an employee at the front desk. The employee checked my cancelled reservation and told me that I would not be charged any cancellation fee because it showed $0 in the system. Low and behold, the next Monday, I was charged the cancellation fee.

The hotel customer service is horrible. I was there for a conference and other attendees had problems with their stay.

The only negative point was that they do not provide a single water bottle for free.. I have travel around the world and this is something that I would not expect from hotels..

The Hamilton Crowne Plaza is a beautiful building. The staff is friendly, curteous, and very accommodating. While the rooms are a little tight because of the building's age I do have only one complaint. The business center computers are extraordinarily slow. Painfully slow. To a point that it almost discourages their guests from trying to access or use the amenity.

Pleasant staff, great location, bed is super comfortable, water pressure good. Room is smallish and without extra amenities but all the basixs are here. Some nice additions are a on property Starbucks and show shine place. CVS is down the street. Restaurant and bar seems well stocked but I did not partake. Would stay here again if I need to be in this area.

Beautiful hotel with an excellent location. We just left today after 3 nights in it. We stayed in room 832. Rooms have great designs. Extremely polite,friendly and professional staff. Doormen are always smiling and making you feel welcome. Great 14K restaurant on site. Super nice barman in the 14K lounge. Sheets were very clean but the chair had a very visible stain , same thing with drapes and there were someone's red hair (many) on the top of the clear shelf in the bathroom. Daily fee of $25 suppose to provide complimentary Voss water bottles which we never recived and the temperatures were above 100F so it would be nice to come back to the room and have them there. SKOAH toiletries were a plus .Also , big LCD tv's with premium channels are nice to have.

The staff is incredibly friendly, professional and helpful. The Art Deco theme is stunning and is consistent throughout every space. Room service was timely and elegant and the food was excellent! The location couldn't be better - walking distance to an abundance of restaurants, the Convention Center, and minutes from downtown attractions. I highly recommend The Hamilton!

My family enjoyed this hotel very much. Felt safe, rooms were quite, and the the staff was really nice. Great having a nice bar with happy hour downstairs and a Starbucks attached. Would highly recommend. Beds were comfy and I liked the robes that were provided.

Clean, nice updating, a tad small but understandable for DC... We fit 2 adults, 2.5 yr old and 2 mo old in a double bed room. Friendly and accommodating staff. Love that Starbucks is right there by the lobby. We had free wifi because of the loyalty program. Very close to all major Washington destinations!

Took my Aunt, Grandmother, and wife to their mothers day brunch. The seating was not very well thought out. There were only two options for breakfast and it was suppose to be brunch. They had more dinner dishes than lunch dishes. I'm never going back there for brunch. The hospitality made up for a lot but we like you eat and the food part let me down.

Lift was broken and stopped on every level. Wasted 1 hr in total 30min out and 30mins back.
We were greeted with an old sock in the room see photo.
Shower is hopeless, place feel old, bed is soft and small, but I am ok with it , rooms are small.

Excellent location, friendly staff!
This hotel is perfectly located. It's just a tiny little bit out of the mayhem right by the White House but just a short walk away. Starbucks is attached to the hotel and you get a 25% discount when you show your room card, which is fantastic. (Especially considering the hotel is under renovations so there is no restaurant or room service available at the time we were there.) Upon arrival, greeted by very friendly staff. Was able to store our luggage as room wass not ready. Checking-in was a little chaotic. There were many people standing and waiting as there was only one person at the front desk. we had already checked in so I just needed to get my room and I still had to wait about 15 minutes. This could be improved by having at least 2 staff members at the front desk exclusively helping patrons check in and get their rooms. Another way to improve would be to have steamers available for guests to borrow, only an iron in the room and I couldn't iron my dress (would be damaged), but this depends on individual needs.
Rooms were modern comfortable and clean. Internet is good enough for streaming. Can also cast from your device to the TV.
The bellhops and concierge and front desk staff were extremely helpful and polite. I can't say enough nice things about the staff that we interacted with.

Me and my husband love coming to D.C , and have stayed at many other places and read a lot about this hotel. Pictures and website showed a very nice hotel ! So we decided to book and we were very excited ( as it s our anniversary) ! We had a long drive from NJ so checked in at 12, staff was very welcoming and friendly. When we went up to our room , all the windows were open ! If you can imagine how COLD it was as it s the end of February. We closed them all and put up the heat , we stepped out and came back we noticed a very strong sent , as of someone who has been smoking and not just cigarettes (BTW this hotel does not allow smoking in the rooms ). We were able to speak to a manager and they offered to have us moved across town at 1:30 AM , which we weren t pleased with. Managers , and staff did everything they could to help us , but unfortunately not enough was done to solve our problem. A very polite man from house keeping sprayed our room just so we could stay the night. We then canceled the rest of our stay at the Hamilton. I wish we had a better experience , but this is one bad experience... hotel is beautiful and a great place to stay for the weekend. We are just upset that unfortunately nothing had been done before we were checked in ,when clearly this issue had been noticed before as windows were all open. Hotel was very happy to give us a full refund and still helped us as much as they could. And for that we are thankful

This is a great place to stay for the weekend when visiting D.C. The suites have all that you need to be comfortable and feel at home. This visit the restaurant was not open but it will be in April 2019. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful when you need a hand or addressing any issues. The location is just steps away from everything you might want to see .

Rusty fixtures, covers missing and wiring exposed. Fridge has sensors on it and the display on top of it. If you touch anything, system charges you for it whether you use it or not. Loud traffic noises kept me awake all night. Restaurant closed for renovations. I do not recommend this place.

Not my first stay with the Hamilton - in fact, I specifically booked the Hamilton for this trip. I find the hotel very clean and well-appointed, and the staff very friendly. My only issue is that the valet parking was a different price than what is on the valet ticket. $59, instead of the $53 on the ticket. I found this out when checking out, and pointed it out to the person helping me. Her response was "oh, well that shouldn't be that price, it's outdated. I'll send it to my manager" Yet she charged me the $59 instead of honoring the $53 price. Just a disappointing ending to our stay.

I personally had a great experience staying at Hamilton on 14th St for 2 nights.
The good:
- great amenities
- room was clean, modern and looked recently renovated (clean wallpaper, no moulds in toilet, floor tiles were clean and dried)
- beds were super comfortable
- coffee machine was provided with pods replenished every morning when they did my room
- great selections on TV
- wifi was super fast and easy to connect to (speed was around 159 mbps, superb!)
- fashionable decoration
- affordable in-room food service
- lobby was fantastic
- central to tourist area (walkable to White House and the Washington Monument).
- door men were friendly and helpful

The bad:
(Despite having many good/positive points, i think the hotel really needs to work on the followings)
- no free drinkable water in room (what stage and age are we in right now and still have to pay for drinking water in a hotel that is not tap water?)

Would definitely come back! Great hotel.
