I called to cancel my reservation and was told that I needed to speak to a manager at the hotel. The hotel did not answer the phone nor did it return any of my messages. When I arrived in DC, I visited the hotel and spoke with an employee at the front desk. The employee checked my cancelled reservation and told me that I would not be charged any cancellation fee because it showed $0 in the system. Low and behold, the next Monday, I was charged the cancellation fee.

The hotel customer service is horrible. I was there for a conference and other attendees had problems with their stay.
