I can go on and on raving about this place. I'm about 2 weeks late but as I'm sitting here on a weekend vacation, I'm comparing this restaurant to restaurants where I'm currently staying. The goat cheese fondue..... It is seriously delicious and looks too pretty to eat the way its plated. Even their mimosas are out of this world. A MIMOSA. How can you make a mimosa even more delicious? They can! The service is excellent and friendly, and not fake friendly. Its I love my job and we are happy you are here, friendly. Management should be proud. This place has it all.
Interesting space with lively crowd, two large bars, imaginative cocktail menu, and a limited food menu ...
Really good food and decent happy hour specials. Wait staff is very attentive and friendly. The seafood stew special is amazing!
This place is good! It's best if you have a smaller group, like 4 people max.
Fun drinks and good vibes. Always a stop when I go into D.C
Great food, beer, cocktails, and service. But it's all pretty expensive.
So excited to try this place. Really digging the atmosphere.
Nice food and drink options. Prices can get a bit lofty for dinner. Service is polite and professional.
Cool vibe, above average food at reasonable prices, great bar, friendly prompt service
Not sure what I got here or why I came but it was expensive
The pot pie was really chicken noodle soup with puff pasty on top. The drinks, and appetizer were decent. The burger was also underwhelming. Overall not our favorite
Great service, worth the price, great drinks 10/10 recommend!
Stopped in for a quick early dinner before a show. It was Halloween weekend, so the staff was all in costume and it added a fun touch to the experience. On top of that, wine was half price. So... My wife had the scallops and pumpkin risotto, I had the rabbit cassoulet. Both were tremendous. Service was stellar. Ambiance is great. Will definitely go for a longer dinner/date night soon.
Great ambience and the server was excellent. However, the food was average in my opinion. I ordered duck wings that were too sweet, and the cavatelli that had oddly cooked lamb chunks. Maybe not their signature dishes?
This is a great date spot. It's cozy, upscale yet comfortable, and they have great plates to share. I made it here for happy hour and was not disappointed in the drink specials. The server was very knowledgeable about the menu and gave us great food recommendations. Will definitely be back!
Very catchy name and the food and drinks were delicious.
Very small food and beer menu. Too pricey for such basic food with small portions. Our server, Erica, was pretty nice, but it was very clear she was on some kind of drugs. She came back from a break and couldn't get our checks right to save her life. We had a table of 4 split 3 ways and she repeatedly gave us the wrong check 3 times, so we just decided to pay the wrong one for less than we ordered. Would not recommend.
Great food, great service, great setting! Good for a night out or quick bite!
Justin from Vermont was an outstanding waiter and new addition to the org. Service was fabulous to say the least. The fondue appetizer did not disappoint. We loved it and an order of the famous chicken wings. We took advantage of the 1/2 price bottle of wine special and ordered the Italian Procesco which was brilliant. Thanks all. Cheers.
Excellent food, cocktails, and atmosphere. My only complaint is the lack of goat dishes on the menu. Right after opening there was a braised goat entree which was great, wish something similar would return. Last week the goat items were was goat cheese and goat sausage. Other times goat cheese and carpaccio. We want more goat!
This is a fantastic place for a date, or a catch up meet up. I love getting their meet and cheese platters with a glass (well, lets be honest. a bottle of wine). Fainting Goat has been in the neighborhood for a few years now and has evolved the menu over that time. i think it is in a good place. The space is awesome and the staff is fantastic. look out for some of the prices.. a bit high in my opinion.
If you are looking for a nice and calm bar where you can seat and discuss with friends or colleagues, I recommend this place. The staff is also very nice. I once reserved a table for 12 people and had to make lots of changes last minute and the servers were very accommodating.
Saw no goats. Saw goat cheese, I think. Bathroom is very clean. Easy to get to.
Fantastic food at an affordable price. Super cute styling makes a very intimate upper pub and lower dining atmosphere. The halibut was seared to perfection. Highly recommend attending their DC Trivia events held every Thursday at 8 PM!
Good food. Good wine. My girlfriend loved hamburgers and mac & cheese. She was very excited about the salad that came with her meal. That's an impressive feat.
This is probably one of my favorite places for brunch and all of DC. Adding to an excellent brunch menu, is the all you can drink Bloody Mary or Mimosa option as well.
They have a great drink menu and funny named drinks. Great ambiance
Great service. Tasty food. Interesting cocktails. Recommend the fondue...
Bartender was friendly and informative. Lol great time with friends.
This place is awesome. First off, above all, the service was fantastic! Thank you Sherrod! Couldn't of asked for anything more. Food was amazing. I suggest the duck wings if they are around
Brunch food, atmosphere, and service was fantastic. Bottomless bloodys and mimosas left more to be desired. Would not recommend the bottomless.
My friends and I got a last minute brunch reservation before the Pride parade. We arrived exactly at our reservation time and were promptly seated. Despite the crowd, our food came quickly and tasted great. Best part: our server never let our bottomless beverages get empty! I would definitely recommend checking this place out!
The brunch was excellent. The vegetarian options were substantial and tasty.
Disappointing food, drinks were ok, the best thing about this place was the great atmosphere.
Pleasantly surprised! Walking in you are greeted by a warm atmosphere with easy vibes. The menu options are limited, however all seemed very delicious. If you have an appetite, the Goat Cheese, Fondue is absolutely incredible!
The mimosas were amazing. Great service and food!!!!
Very short menu however they have mastered the few items on there. Fondue was amazing and the fish was very tasty. Not sure what that cream sauce was but it sure added a fine touch
This is one of our favorite places to do work gatherings for drinks and small plates. All the cheese dishes (fondue, plate, etc.) are amazing, and their specialty cocktails are often spot-on--love the Saigon mule!
Good drinks. Small menu. Make sure to order correctly and you will not be disappointed.
Great drinks and food, but very limited for vegetarians.
Food was okay. Dining room was cramped and service was mediocre.
Good food but make sure you get there early for brunch as they tend to run out of several options
Great beer selection and wonderfully unique food options. Prices are a little high, but food is excellent. Very crowded and dark atmosphere.
Cool atmosphere.. great burger. But drinks weren t that good and not many options on the menu
Great bbq food that's truely smoke bbq, nice selection of draft beer, pleasant staff and quaint establishment. Not much more I can say about that.
This is a great spot. Lively without being crowded, good food and drinks, and nice people.
A very nice restaurant along U Street. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food was great ! I shared the fish and it was cooked to perfection ! Loved it! Nice bar as well !!
Patrick the general manager was rude. The waiter Taryn was amazing. She was hospitable and catered to our needs. She made sure we were comfortable && felt sound. The manager though made us feel gratefully uncomfortable. Forcing us to leave after we paid our tip plus we left a gratuity for our very gracious waiter. Rico && Olivia are gray as well. The staff is delightful. Just not management.
Excellent food and really good drinks with exceptional service
Aside from just having an awesome name, this place has great craft beer and artisan hipster food. Pricey, but comparable to similar dining establishments.
I went there for brunch, it took three tries to get my drink order correct-- wrong drink, dirty glass. The service was very slow. We made an appointment for 2 hour brunch but they stopped us early because they don't serve brunch past a certain time. This was not informed when we made our reservation... for brunch. The food was good.
The exterior is deceptively plain for such a high quality of food, drink, and service.
The $16 burger was nothing special.. the bass was undercooked, sent back, microwaved, then returned.. imagine how that tasted. Service was good -- they took the bass off the check and gave us a free drink. Probably still won't go back though.
Goat Cheese Fondu! Pretty good prices for a solid DC Brunch. Great service.
Really nice place, I think the beverage program here is much better than the fare. Cheese plate is 2 cheeses and so much of them that you wonder why they didn't just got with half the quantity and higher quality and variety. The octopus really needs some flavor, the sauce seems like avocado which really has no taste... Really what does advocodo taste like... Nothing. But the ambivalence is great the drinks and Cabernet was awesome.
We only went for happy hour, so I can only speak to the drinks. The atmosphere was great, much cooler looking on the inside then I thought it would be. The staff was very friendly. And I liked that it wasn't over crowded, although we were there on a Monday. They have a happy hour drink from all categories (1 beer, 1 red, 1 white, 1 sparkling) and the prices are pretty good. I'll definitely try it again for happy hour and maybe some bar snacks. Probably skip dinner as though don't have a ton of vegetarian options.
A bit pricey food wise but a good experience and good drinks.
We had drinks here and tried to stay for dinner, but the wait was too long. I was impressed by Fainting Goat's beer selection on tap - they had a DC 3Star white IPA - solid place for drinks. Good crowd, relaxing environment. Can't wait to have dinner here one night.
We had a delicious brunch here. We made reservations right after they opened and were seated immediately. The chicken and waffle was delicious- between the taste of fried chicken and cinnamon, you just had to take another bite. The egg pastry was also very good. I would definitely come back and recommend this place (at least for brunch)!
Really lovely dining experience! Great food, drinks and atmosphere. I didn't deduct a star for this, but I do wish our waitress was a bit friendlier. I felt like we were bothering her every time we asked for something.
Great Brunch! Nice variety of something different. Goat Cheese Fondue, Stuffed Squash and Blue Catfish were first rate today.
My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our brunch. We shared a bagel and lox plate, then he had the goat and I had french toast. As we decided to linger with our bottomless bloody marys we decided to munch on the fondue. The service was excellent!
Friendly service given how hip this place is. Would suggest reservation. They've got some neat stuff on the somewhat limited menu. Goat cheese fondue was delicious if a bit over spiced given the natural tang of the goat cheese. Chicken liver pate had a pleasant winy and reassuring funk flavor. Cauliflower was honestly a bit of a limp rip off. Entrees, pasta, were a bit cold and the flavors we're fine. Will want to try something else next time. Good cocktails, wine list could leave more to be desired. There is a near constant parade of interesting flame-catalyzed aromas through the place, most very good and tantalizing (frankincense?), others just burnt plastic.
Great food and drinks. One of the best spots on u st
I guess you come here for the ambiance and NOT the food. I love trying out new restauramts in DC. This has been the first real big disappoontment. I could have cooked the pasta at home from a jar and and pasta from a box and gotten the same results.
Probably my favorite smart-casual bar in DC. Always good drinks, always intimate during happy hour or right before things get busy with the bar scene at 9. Even so, plenty of room at the bigger tables in the back when things get busy.
Had brunch here on a Saturday and sat at the bar with Chris, who was a delight for conversation. I had the wedge salad, hubby had a tostada and we loved both dishes. We also both had bottomless mimosas, and they had multiple flavors other than plain orange juice - cranberry, grapefruit, mango, and another I can't remember. We really enjoyed it and will be back.
Excellent place in a very popular area at night. The dishes are few but careful, and the drinks very rich. It is essential to make reservations if you go Friday or Saturday.
Delicious food, strong drinks, friendly staff. We walked in as a group of 6 at 11am on a Sunday and sat together at the bar! The restaurant was pretty full when we left at 1pm.
If you enjoy delighting your pallet with sensational flavor, and texture combinations this is the place for you. Every dish offers a tantalizingly, refreshed take on familiar dishes. Nice crowd, but expect to have people stand over you in certain areas, as there's only standing room at the bar anything beyond 8.
The Mac n Cheese will bring you to your knees. Five stars.
