Excellent food, drink, service and happy hour. Also, you can get a seat and conversation with bartenders always easy.
Excellent food, drink, service and happy hour. Also, you can get a seat and conversation with bartenders always easy.
Always fun to go to when in town. You will enjoy yourself immensely while there.
A little bit expensive and the service was not paying attention. Food is good.
I enjoyed my meal here. It was a tad on the heavy side, but I think that's fine. The presentation of the dishes was very good. I had the goat po boy, which was a very good non-traditional po boy.
They did not have a ton of vegan / vegetarian options, but this is one case where I can recommend the cheese plate. Definitely ask to make sure that you will like the cheeses they serve (it's a chef's choice), but it's a nice offering.
All in all, a fun place to get dinner at U Street.
Perhaps the worst place I've ever eaten in my life. RANCID food, terrible, terrible, terrible service (my 87-year-old father was served 15 minutes after the rest of the table because the kitchen couldn't get its stuff together.) The waitress was surly and confrontational. DO NOT GO HERE TO EAT IF YOU VALUE YOUR GUT AND YOUR EVENING. TRULY!!!!!!!
Came for a birthday brunch with a reservation, and after we were sat, never saw our server. We sat with empty water cups for 15 minutes until we waved down a server. By way of apology he said "this brunch hour is crazy" and "your waiter is floating around here somewhere". Ok. He brought us water a few minutes later and said he'd found her and would send her over, but after 10 minutes, we got tired of waiting and went to another restaurant. Weirdest thing was IT WASN'T EVEN THAT BUSY
Extremely cool bar, especially the one on the second floor. Went with a group of friends and sat at the bar to watch the Olympics and the bartenders were lack thereof. Most of the time they were not at the bar and definetely were not tending to our needs.
Fun place to catch up with friends and sip some drinks, but I would not reccomend this establishment if you're looking for attentive staff or any sort of human response from bartenders.
Excellent food and service! Interesting decor with fun events! Prices are reasonable and drink specials are great! If you are in the area, it s worth the trip!
It would not be a great place if you have small children as the menu is tailored more to adult tastes. Just my opinion.
Thank you for a great dining experience!
Great fondue, great wine, super nice ribs, romantic interior, very friendly and kind staff. Will take friends back here :)
Service and food was great. We were seated promptly with our reservation, and were tended to throughout the night but unobtrusively. A nice lively atmosphere, but not so loud as to be bothersome. We had fondue (who doesn't like melted cheese?) which was great, and Garganelli (I got it with braised goat), which was also delicious. Worth a visit!
Always PURE MAGIC!!! This is definitely the go to whenever near U St. Not your average STRIP locale. Serious, mixologist in here!!! CRAFT COCKTAILS!! A FULL MENU TO CATER TO COMPLETE MEAL!! it's the PERFECT date spot, but also a spot to escape the hustle and bustle of the neon lights and hookah clouds.
I love the atmosphere here. Great location and drink selection. The bartenders are really nice as well. I highly recommend Fainting Goat
Been a few times and this is a good spot for a decent meal along U Street. Portion sizes are reasonable, good quality and seasonal variations to the menu.
First time there with friends who received recommendations about the place. I loved my meal. The food, the price, and the atmosphere were all great. I had the chicken breast with fries. It was yummy. The fainting goat menu changes frequently, (According to the waiter) so they seem to have a seasonal menu. Overall, the experience was good and worth another visit.
Good food and decent service. Take advantage of the$22 bottom less mimosas and other drinks for the brunch. Recommend!
Great selection of drinks and food with a nice atmosphere
Great food, nice servers, nice portion for the price.
Chic decor and trendy crowd go here for great cocktails and we'll presented food in a relaxed bar atmosphere
The Saigon Mule is amazing. Great cocktails, fondue, and a small but good beer selection.
Great week night date spot. Cool and hip but not too out there. Drink list is high quality not a ton of options, but the beer and cocktail lists have something [good!] for everyone. Service was excellent. Parking on U Street is a mess, so plan on metroing if you're not local.
Cute restaurant. Food is decent but very expensive for the portion. Maybe that's just DC price and I'm not familiar with the area.
Hawk watching over 6 dollar champagne bottle... for a Sunday brunch gathering...horrible service don t not recommend
Nice food and great service !! Had the iceberg salad (cant remember the name) and it was really nice and pretty
Good brunch, although the runny egg on a tostada does not work as well as on some breads. The mimosas are a bit overly sweet, crab mac and cheese is good, bloody mary could be a bit more spicy, but they do have an intriguing list of other brunch cocktails. Skip the bottomless and go for one or two of those (for less than the bottomless) also bodega sandwich is ridiculously overpriced for a BEC
atmosphere is great, food is good, but a bit pricey
I hated this place. It was too pretentious for me. The food was over priced, all small plates, and totally not flavored. I was with a group of six or so. Everyone got something different, so it wasn't just what I got. The bottom less mimosas of kinds we're flat. It was just awful. Our server wasn't even that pleasant either.
Really amazing takes on traditional dishes. Extensive cocktail/beer/wine selection. Cool vibe and ambiance.
Food and service were great. Bloody Mary's and Mimosas seemed watered down
Good food and drink. Fun place all around. Can get crowded, so try to reserve.
The Fainting Goat is one of those places where everything sounds good yet everything is meh. Execution is mediocre. Dishes are far too salty and take a very long time to appear. Service is friendly but slow.
Small menu, but definitely good food. The goat cheese fondue is a must have dish!
Their food is delicious and so are their cocktails! A staple restaurant in the U Street Corridor!
The atmosphere, drinks, and bar scene are great here.
Menu on Google maps is two years old. We went after 9pm and it had shifted more to bar mode, (never been ID'd to enter a restaurant before). Friendly staff, the atmosphere was good and the food is smaller snack plates. This place is NOT for a dining experience, but would recommend for fun with friends.
Went here on Saturday after the Pride parade (6/9) and had probably the greatest experience! The bartenders were great, drinks were delicious (we didn't order food having just eaten). I have to shout out one particular bartender - Saab (I know that's how he said to pronounce it, don't know if that's the spelling). I asked him if he could make a mixed drink with lavender because I'm borderline obsessed with it, and he told me he'd see what he could do. He came back with the most AMAZINGLY DELICIOUS drink I've ever had, complete with a freaking purple flower in it. I was so floored and happy, my friends loved the drink too! If you could PLEASE ask him how he made it so I could maybe recreate it (not sure the next time I will be in the DC area :( ) and give him yet another shoutout for making my experience there wonderful, I would GREATLY appreciate it! He even gave me a hug when we left because I couldn't stop raving about it. Service was great, drinks were great, I'll definitely be back!
The service was good and the fondue was amazing. But the actual dinner was pretty bad
For the price they charge, disappointing
Perfect for a classy night out with friends would recommend drinks over food and environment over everything.
I really enjoyed my visit the the Fainting Goat. It's at face value a basic Tavern style establishment but what really surprised me was the quality of the food. Fantastic food is a big plus for me as a non drinker.
RIP OFF! you have to place an order on your phone. for every item you purchase they add a separate service free!! overpriced food and crappy drinks AWFUL.
Great atmosphere for brunch with really flavorful, unique food and drink options. I really enjoyed the duck parfait and the Brunch Sammy. They don't skimp on the spices here either! I left extremely full, and satisfied. Reservations were super easy to make here at last minute as well, which I appreciated.
If I could give zero stars I would, but Yelp will not allow me to do so.
I made reservations for brunch at this establishment yesterday. When I arrived @ 1:15pm, no one greeted me for at least five minutes. I was finally greeted after almost ten minutes, but still had to wait. We did not sit down for another 2-3 minutes.
When we were seated, we were informed that we had to order our bottomless and our food through their mobile app. I thought this was cool until I saw that the app charged a convenience fee for usage and there was a required 20% gratuity. What?
The online brunch menu is different than the menu they have when you get to the restaurant and access the link/app. I ordered the asparagus salad, side of fries and bottomless mimosas and paid through the app.
The server comes over and says they are out of the asparagus salad and I ll have to REPAY and REORDER something else through the app! Excuse me! So, now I have to pay an additional $16 for a salad and you haven t even refunded me for the first!????? CRAZY!!!!
I ordered the watermelon salad which was absolutely disgusting! Literally paid $16 for a bowl of watermelon mixed with feta cheese. I thought I was being punked.
The manager comes over and says he immediately refunded me, with an attitude! Wrinkled his face up and couldn t understand why I was so upset. Sir!
Horrible customer service!
Please note my account still does not have the refund. And if I do not get my money in the next couple of days there will be a serious issue!
I will NEVER return!
Food and drinks were good, but staff was very rude. Place was practically empty when I walked in and I was completely ignored for several minutes. The hostess and another staff member gossiped away as I stood nearby. Later the hostess watched me like a hawk when I crossed the room to use the restroom. I was alone and waiting for a friend so apparently leaving your table for a moment is suspicious.
There are plenty of places in DC with good food- go support the businesses that treat their guests well.
Service was excellent; food was superb! My daughter and I both ordered steak --- it was tender, full of flavor and cooked to perfection; served with tender baby potatoes and asparagus. We were indulged in a slice of goatcheese cheesecake which was incredibly delicious! Kudos to Chef Joey and the staff for making this a delightful evening!
Great vibe, a little pricey with few options but the food is delicious.
great bottomless brunch, super friendly and attentive staff!
Oh. My. God. The food is incredible, staff amazing and chill, and the place is just beautiful! Not loud, conversation is totally possible. Treat it like tapas; order to share. Perfect for a group of close friends!
Went here for brunch and the biscuits and gravy were amazing. Also, bottomless drinks that come in 4 different flavors. There's just not anything bad I can say about this place. Laid back atmosphere with good bartenders and an attentive wait staff that aims to please (I was with a finicky eater). This just might become my favorite non-buffet brunch place in DC.
I can go on and on raving about this place. I'm about 2 weeks late but as I'm sitting here on a weekend vacation, I'm comparing this restaurant to restaurants where I'm currently staying.
The goat cheese fondue..... It is seriously delicious and looks too pretty to eat the way its plated.
Even their mimosas are out of this world. A MIMOSA. How can you make a mimosa even more delicious? They can!
The service is excellent and friendly, and not fake friendly. Its I love my job and we are happy you are here, friendly.
Management should be proud. This place has it all.
I had the fish and for the price it was really a small portion and not particularly tasty. I think all the food is a way overpriced!
Delicious. Late night. Chicken sandwich was great and so were the drinks.
Good food and a nice atmosphere but very small portions for the money charged, even by DC standards.
Went here for dinner before a show at Lincoln Theatre. Very cozy! So nice to have a restaurant quiet enough that you can have a conversation across a large table. Not a very large menu, but all dishes were delicious. Very friendly and quick service (we had a show to go to, and they were very accommodating).
Great cocktails, the not so dark and not so stormy is my fave!
The food was not good. Very bland and dry. Cool name but sucky food.
Came here for Thursday night trivia. They had great beer menu, and our group really liked the wings.
Every dish is amazing. Everything surpasses the bar.
The service was very good, and the bartender was extremely friendly. Highly recommend the duck wings! The main reason for the three-star rating is the price to food quantity ratio and generally high price of drinks.
What a great find! Complete farm to table establishment, flavors were on point - the food hit the spot!
We had the burger and fried chicken sandwich. The burger had a great flavor, very natural, clean, and cooked to perfection (so juicy). Don't let your eyes fool you - the fried chicken sandwich is listed with the small apps, but it's a decent sized meal.
They have a great selection of cocktails as well - we really enjoyed it, and would definitely go back.
This place is awesome! Especially the "picnic" meals on Mondays in July. Some of the best ribs I've ever had. Delicious food and great atmosphere. Would be nice to visit the bar sometime as well. Will definitely be going back if I'm in the DC area.
Amazing Staff, food, and service. The goat cheese fondue is amazing. Strip steak and goat cheesecake is to die for. RUN don t walk to The Fainting Goat.
Easy to find, great food. Wonderful personable service!
Everything about this place is good! Food is quality and delicious! Also a fun place to do a bottomless brunch!
Great cocktails, friendly staff, and intriguing atmosphere. Wonderful place to grab a drink with friends!
The food could be better but you can't beat bottomless mimosas!
