The Sterkfontein Caves tour was really cool! Our tour guide was wonderful and had that typical sarcastic South African humour that I love so much.

She was incredibly knowledgeable and my favourite part was when she turned off the lights and you get that sense of how deep underground you are. If you have the time, pay the more expensive ticket price so you can go to the other part of the site which has a dinosaur museum.

It's a world class facility and an important stop for human kind at some point in life. It has a special aura about it. You'll know you have arrived at the birth place of our species. A great team on board with a thread of happy that brings them together, leaving you with happy memories of a very special place ... I'll be back

This is very important historical venue, where the first evidence of the humanity was found. This makes this venue very touchy. However the exhibition about the planet, continent drifts, evolution are more or less designed for school kids. For example I see no reason for boat trip.

Amazing

Loved it

Close to cradle of humankind is the lion and Rhino park. It is a great place to go see lions and rhinos if you haven't been able to see them anywhere else. The best time of the day is far as I remember is to go on a Wednesday midday as that's when the feeding happens. It happens three times a week. So make sure you call ahead to find out. In the photos below are wild dogs eating. Understand that these animals have been rescued. But it may start to cause issues in the future when breeding a curse. Wild animals should never be bred in captivity as they will never understand how to hunt and fend for themselves. Do not go and visit the very depressing zoo that is attached. They do have Jaguars and leopards. But their space is so small that is ridiculously depressing to see. It is like taking a whale and putting it in a swimming pool. They typically have larger areas to Rome. Enjoy your experience only if you had not seen these and the true African bush

Very interesting museum.

Very interesting museum.
Not too big and the boat ride at the start is a bit silly but fun for kids I guess.
The entire museum is quite interactive so children will be entertained while there is enough info as well to keep the adults busy as well. Besides there are no rules prohibiting adults to have some fun with the kids stuff as well.
Nice view in the back of the museum as well.

Absolutely amazing, As a south African, glad that this is still well maintained and would advise everyone visiting the area to come see it.

Be sure to go to Sterkfontein caves as well which is included in the combo ticket and just 8km away.

I have been twice now with visitors from 4 different countries, and every time it exceeds our expectations. However, if you drive on your GPS do NOT turn right at the traffic circle, but rather follow the signs and turn left.
The tour is fun and informative, and the guides are excellent with kids. The activity areas are enough to make adults play like kids!

The hidden Gem of South Africa . 50 Boer War battlefields some in almost untouched condition. So many great restuarants and bars dotted around the countryside. So many cultural things to see. Come and visit .

Excellent venue to bring primary or school groups for a school tour (history and geography, with a biology and science component too).
Our guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. She engaged well with the group.
Also, there were bronze statues of various celebrities - local and international. Also very informative.
Food packs from the canteen were also tasty and well organised. Thanks Maropeng!

Yummy
