It is an outdoor Museum featuring plenty of artifacts that show the beginning of the human race.
Very beautiful and informative. The most friendly staff I've ever met
The origin of humankind. Relaxing drive if you're patient with the many cyclists who use the road over weekends
Fire, ice, and the beginning of human kind (if you humor the "theory" of evolution for the day). Amazing exhibitions, a must for anyone
Men's conference or clinic beautiful narration with Pat Shai . Sello Make . Cruzeldas metro FM and a host of Men from Department of Transport. The venue wow food and fresh atmosphere when last did I smell nature is a place to be
Really excellent food and a great setting. They ran low on stock on some menu items (not a lot)
Interesting and historic! My only complaint would be that it was difficult to find. Getting a direction on Google maps only got us to the restaurant some 15 klms from the site. We're it not for someone who'd been there before, we would not have found the place. I met someone later who had never managed to find the site!! We entered The cradle of humanity but it turned out something else had to be entered. Strange!
The scientific presentation leaves something to be desired. There are presentations which have factual errors and then the exhibit concludes with a strong dose of political indoctrination for the current "climate change" obsession.
So amazingly educational. We realise just how intricately all life is connected. Respect.
Approximately 40% often works fossils were discovered here. It's a must visit for South Africans and foreigners
Fantastic museum and stunning bronze statue installation. Couldn't believe that such a germ is in the middle of nowhere...!
Highly informative and interesting, but it becomes a tad long to keep one's interest focussed.
Not my thing. But for people who are interested in where they found human remains, the great ones are beautiful.
Very cool museum with interactive exhibits, worth spending the better part of a day here, just roaming around learning interesting facts.
They have a beautiful statue yard of all monumental figures in history and they highlight each and every person's responsibility and really shows the power of one person and their ability to persuade and drive change within a country very beautiful there are very many statues this is a great place to visit and to reflect on things that many of these individuals have done for us that we may have freedom.
You can learn a lot about South African history struggles from apartheid to the new South Africa not forgetting biology and evolution of man. A lot of entertainment as well, you can bring the whole family and enjoy the environment.
Interesting pocket of history here...
Italians would mine for the limestone required to extract gold from it's ore...they did so in an amazing natural stalagmite cave. This desecrated the SA deal with the British which is why this is the location...you can see miles around from outside cave. Because of this, the Italians one day dropped their tools and ran when the Brits came.
This is why the cave is in such interesting condition. Enjoyed a good tour of the place as well.
Nice tourist attraction where you could connect with your root. It's a must visit for anyone with interest about human origin.
Very informative and educational for children.
Adults get to play with the wierd and wonderful games and you get a water ride out of it
Beautiful views from the Boutique Hotel and Restaurant
A most enjoyable day "adventure " into our prehistory via a boat journey and then interactive exhibits. The staff are very pleased to share their expertise and passion.
I have wanted to go to The cradle of humankind for as long as I could remember, and boy was I surprised. This place is amazing, definitely first class. Worth the visit!!!
Very informative. I've learned a lot about human origins and how planet earth came to being
The guide was great. Access to the cave is best for those who have an average conditioning. But it is not impossible for the most unprepared or chubby. The history of the discoveries of our ancestors is fantastic. The cradle of humanity is there. Better understand English.
Enjoyable visit. The boat ride and voltex experience was a highlight
Incredible location history and thoughtful exhibits.
Extremely humbling experience, listening to the stories of Mrs Ples ane Littlefoot!!
Quite an experience. Take the ful tour and get educated.
Best to do combination of caves and maropeng evolution centre. Great experience for kids as well
Very nice place and the animals are taken well care of.
Really great museum. Very informative and interactive. Highly recommended.
The place a wooooooooooow and the service is good ohhhh n the pool areas hmmmm
Fantastic entertainment for half of day, both museum and cave were beautiful. Amazing boating service in the museum as well as the nice restaurant @ top floor!
Certainly a unique site. The museum is quite cool with some truly great exhibits. Could use a bit of TLC as it is regularly mobbed by schoolchildren.
Staff friendly and courteous. Wonderful amount of birds in the area. What was truly cool was the statue exhibit there. Plan extra time to wander that.
While it may be targeted at the younger audience, still worth a visit. Especially the special exhibition as the entrance was very fascinating
Anyone traveling to South Africa near Johannesburg should visit this place. Highly recommended, you learn many things. Above all, there are also wooden tours here.

Stunning views, superb food and friendly professional service
Nice history lesson. Will take all my visiting overseas friends here.
UNESCO site since 1999. Numerous sporting (cycling) and cultural activities (Maropeng museum, Sterkfontein caves ...)
Kings Kloof, awesome place to cycle. Routes not marked verry well, especially the 22km, but nice tecnical, ride
Definitely worth a visit. Its the birth of mankind!
Educational and fun experience . Even my 4 year old had a blast. The boat ride was awesome. Well run, friendly staff. Even upon entering the premises the guard sipho was super friendly and he gives you a sense from the start that it's going to be a great experience. The takeaway at the visitor centre has great food as well. Really enjoyable place and lots to learn.
