My husband and I came to this hotel after we got married this past weekend. We have stayed at the Colonnade in the past and had a good experience. However, this time was different. Our desk clerk who checked us in, didn't even greet us just yelled "last name?" While I was standing in line. I told her my last name and then when I was directly in front of her she said "last name?" again. I bought the freedom trail package, she didn't explain how to get breakfast or how to get in and out of the parking garage since we had free overnight parking. I didn't want the guidebook but I never received that. She was just not interested and I was put off by the experience. My husband tried to get our room decorated with rose petals (trying to be romantic) and was transferred three times to different people and was finally told to email someone, who of course never responded. He just gave up. All of the housekeeping, waiters in the restaurant, door staff, and other front desk clerks seemed nice and polite. I don't think we will be coming back though. There must of been some event in town because the rooms were $700 (surrounding hotels were expensive too) and it was definitely not worth it.

I spent several thousand dollars here last week and brought a dozen or so employees there on a co m.k pany trip I ly to be given a smelly little old room the first night when they were supposed to upgrade me. And then to find out that there were bed bugs in one of my employees rooms and when they brought it to the attention of the front desk, there were not offered any sort of solution but rather were offered a free breakfast voucher. Horrible.

Warm and friendly staff, with a kind attitude toward making the New Year's Even and Day holiday period special. Clean rooms with nice views and floor to ceiling sunlighted windows. Staff is welcoming to dog guests, indicated by a dog photo at the check-in desk and smiles from personnel. Really tasteful art work in the lobby and a fireplace plus lovely breakfast area. I liked the phone outside the elevators on each floor, making quiet and "last minute" ordering or requests possible. The hidden refrigerator was well designed and useful. The location is also very convenient to restaurants, 7-11, an ethnic food emporium, and a huge mall, not to mention the subway was accessible just steps from the front door.

Amazing hotel and location. Immaculately clean with everything you could want including Keurig coffee makers. The restaurant is world class. Highly recommend to business and personal travelers in Boston.

Stayed here for the last 4 years for a Convention and always, always a wonderful time. it's clean, it's comfy, the staffs are great, the elevators work!!!! ONLY 11 floors (stairs exercise anyone).

The rooftop pool is pretty amazing!!! However, you gotta to be CAREFUL with your drink order. This hotel will charge you a $15 cover to enter the pool. They explain that you are actually getting those $ 15 back as credit with your order of alcohol or food. With that said, once the server bring your bill back they charge you FOR ALL IT, when I inquire where was my $ 15 worth credit on the bill, the serve had the nerve to tell me I didn't show him my cover ticket, anyways, lucky me, I did have the cover tickets and gave them to the server.

The conclusion of this review is, BE REALLY CAREFUL WITH YOUR BILL at THE COLONNADE. IF YOU SEE CHARGE YOU DON'T UNDERSTAND, ASK WHAT THEY ARE? MOST PEOPLE IS AFRAID OR SHY TO ASK SERVER TO EXPLAIN THEIR BILL..

Very bad experience. Would NOT stay in The Colonnade Hotel again. It was under construction, which was not told to us at time of booking. The AC was so loud it was unusable; the refrigeration in our first room leaked; the TV kept going out; the power went out and engineers had to come up to the room to get it working; when they moved us to a suite to apologize, we continued to have issues with that room. TV's didn't work; only one working light bulb in the living room; and poor follow up to get the TV's working - bedroom one was never fixed. There is no bar or restaurant and an extremely limited room service menu. We had considered the Hilton or Sheraton ... next time we will chose one of them.

Great location for a touristy weekend. Really enjoyed our stay we got through Priceline, which got us a room with a really large and comfortable bed. The decor was cool and rooftop pool very trendy feeling, with pop music playing at 10:30 in the morning and color changing lights at night. There is no hotel gym or water in the lobby (though complimentary bottles in room) so I missed those ammenities.

The room was very well equipped, the beds were very comfortable, everything was clean throughout. A coffee / tea machine with coffee, tea and two bottles of water, which were refilled daily, was available free of charge. All of the staff we met were very friendly, in particular the concierge Mr. Thomas was helpful and very accommodating. We spent four very good nights at the Colonnade. The price / performance ratio was appropriate.
A small suggestion for improvement: for the coffee / tea cups would be nice instead of the styrofoam cups, that would correspond better to the standard of the hotel.
The location is ideal for sightseeing. There is a T-stop right outside the front door, the Trolly Tours stop at the hotel, and there is a great shopping center across the street. There are innumerable shops here. You can also eat well here, there is a supermarket attached. ATMs and post offices are also on site.

The doorman is great, however the hotel itself is managed by a rageing queen tyrant. Mr calella, plan on being stuck in the elevator from time to time.food is equivalent to high school lunch room. Soggy pizza instant mashed runny eggs .under construction so forget about sleep, between the construction and the rageing queen yelling at everyone good luck ,better off at a motel 6.

Had a great stay with Colonnade. Very accommodating and helpful. Easily added additional person reservation to accommodate different arrival times, helpful with parking arrangements, and had a great room service breakfast. They were also able to very quickly email me a receipt almost a month later when I needed it. Great service all around.

My 17 year old was stuck in Boston because the Amtrak was shut down due to the Blizzard and the staff was very accommodating I got him into a room after his very long train ride from Chicago

The Colonnade was lovely and the staff was so helpful and courteous. We were attending a transgender health conference and were impressed that it was hosted by the hotel. I would love to stay here again.

overall, the personnel was so rude and useless.
-internet speed was the worst, could not even check emails. I had to use my phone internet service.
-monday 22nd there was no hot water the whole morning ..... (after calling to find out a workaround... the answer was so rude it just made frustration worse)
-the room was so hot since the Air Conditioning was broken !!!
However, by far the worst thing was how rude was the guy answering calls at the front desk
I will never go back there again

The Colonnade was right across the Prudential Center and provided easy access to the convention center. The Duck Tours was near the hotel and allowed the group to do sight seeing. The rooms were clean and they provided free water bottles. The mini fridge was great to keep drinks cool and the TV had all the basic channels to make sure I didn't miss out on my nightly shows.

If you're looking for a good shower cry. The pressure is amazing, beat you down while you let those tears roll. If you catch Norman the doorman he's got some water that seems like he pulled from Alaska. And it's free, refresh yourself after the nice shower cry.

Upon arriving at the hotel the door staff directed us to go park are car. The parking lot was full and I had to find a spot where my car would be out of the way and not blocking any other car. In which I did on the ramp after 15 minutes of looking. Went to checkin door man and another staff member chased us down and then demanded my key. I asked why when my car was parked and was not blocking any other vehicle.

On Saturday morning while checking out I asked for my key and was asked for my ticket claim number in which I was never given one once they took my key. The front desk staff went looking for my key and found my key loose and off to the side. I was not happy about that. Not to mention being charged for parking my own vehicle when I watched the same wait staff park another patrons car and was not given the run around or the hassle of having to go park their own car.

Also in the room there several used bags stuffed in the draw of the TV stand. Used bags at that.

Overall I may consider staying here but will seek other options and make your hotel the last option.

Exceptional service.
Staff is friendly and went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible.

Late check out option helped us keep our stuff safe and quickly change before taking our flight back to Miami.

Cute and clean room with little dining table and fridge.

Great location. Right in front of Prudential and a Citi bike station.

I can t say enough positive things about this hotel. They made everything about our stay so special! Denike and Norman were such a pleasure along with the front desk staff. The room was clean and we found it tough to leave bed in the morning (too comfy). The location is outstanding and we had easy access to everything. The subway is right out front. Thank you to everyone at the Colonnade for an amazing stay - we will be back!

Very nice hotel with good location. Lovely, comfortable rooms. There are swimming pool on the top floor with beautiful view, but in summer time it's little bit crowded. Careful with the bathroom's door, it could be locked from the outside.

I have no issues with the hotel's service, rooms, or appearance.
What I do have an issue with is what they call their "signature scent" that was SO strong, sweet, and pungent, that it saturated the lobby and entire first floor of the hotel like a bad perfume, giving me a severe migraine headache. I have never stayed in a hotel that saturated the lobby and entire first floor with a sickeningly sweet, strong, odor. This could be a real issue for asthma patients. What are they thinking? Get rid of that smell!

We have stayed at the Colonnade for years and once again our experience was terrific. The staff, the room, and the location where we could walk to everything was fantastic. I highly recommend a stay at the Colonnade Boston Hotel.

My family stayed here, occupying 6 rooms with 5 young children. All of our needs were met and requests accommodated. The bell person staff was terrific in transporting our "load" of stuff to the rooms.

My recent 8/21/19 stay was nothing short of outstanding. Sandy, Norman, and Thomas each had exemplary customer service skills and I can't say enough about them. My suite was fabulous....clean, beautiful and the beds were extremely comfortable. The roof top bar, although raining out for me, was very nice. I will most definitely stay at The Colonnade again.

Overall, the hotel would have been entirely adequate, but given the expectations set by their site and marketing, I was left underwhelmed. The mattress was the single hardest slab I've ever slept on, and I prefer a firm bed... But not this. Add to that entirely unstructured pillows that provide no support, and the sleeping experience was rough. Nothing in the way of shuttles or transport assistance, which is another expectation I have when staying at higher end hotels. It was clean, gorgeous, and we'll located, just far more Spartan than I would hope.

I had my most terrible experience in this place. I parked in the parking of the hotel for 3 hours. Entered the wrong parking at the first, my mistake, but was in a hurry so didn't go back to leave this parking an go to the other hotel next door (Marriott). Was in rush already to be on an appointment that night but nothing went as I planned foe. Didn't have cash on me to pay for the parking, so I called the Colonnade Hotel at the parking exit. I had to call three times until they sent somebody from the front desk. Mr. Brian Comeau (director of hotel's front office) and he rudely expected me to either go to a bank to have cash, or go home and come back the next day with cash, and he wouldn't let me go in this cold weather until I pay. I had no choice, but calling friends and asking for a quick money transfer to my empty debit card. If I couldn't make it, I had no idea what I could have done with the poor manager who only thinks about financial integrity of the hotel, not customer satisfaction. Brian Comeau has the worst customer service I could imagine, and if he manages this hotel, I don't recommend wasting your money there.

Pool staff was amazing! So accommodating and attentive. The roof top experience saved the day. There was no restaurant or room service due to coronavirus and Mike & Jeremy made everything we need happen! The wait staff Frankie & Dave were on top of all our needs. The food was delicious. The view was incredible. I wouldn t recommend staying there when the pool isn t open as that really is why I m giving this review 5 stars.

Go here annually for our anniversary, so good really considering doing it at least twice more each year. Rooftop pool was a sight and it isn't far from many restaurants and wonderful locations of Boston. Can definitely say I will be returning regularly if possible.

Disappointing stay, price, pool and air conditioning. Small room, even smaller bathroom. Air conditioning required movement in your room to turn on, very uncomfortable at times, asked for a fan. Pool gave access to non-hotel guests, very crowded. Good location, but not worth it.

Nice and conveniently located hotel in Back Bay area. General surrounding area is well kept / maintenance. Metro line is right next to the hotel which is a plus, which make it easy to navigate and convenience. Rate was average , comparing to other nearby establishments, for first few days, but then for whatever reason sky-rocketed (more than double) on the return trip.

Between the caring staff and the RTP, the Colonnade is the best place to stay in Boston. A fantastic central location, you can get anywhere in a matter of minutes. Perfect for a girls weekend or a celebration of any kind.

The pool is ridiculously small and crowded. There wasn t even a place to sit on the ledge. I think there were more pool dwellers than hotel guests!
The room was stuffy and dated with A/C that actually sounded like a jet engine.
Brunch was really a breakfast bar making it very overpriced. I ve had better complimentary breakfasts at lower priced hotels.
On the upside, it s within walking distance to Fenway and many other popular places.

The public spaces and the staff are top notch. The rooms are also well equipped and clean. I did find it less maintained than I would expect from a hotel of this price point. My heat was not working and after two calls about it, and a very cold night, I had to move rooms. The room iron was broken as well as many little unfixed wearing of room elements. It could be a short term issue but it was not great considering the cost.
