Living at the Crossings at Santa Fe. My roommates ...

Living at the Crossings at Santa Fe. My roommates and I have put in multiple work orders for maintenance to be done on our apartment and they either take forever to show up, or never do. One time we put in an order and they came in, however the problem was definitely not fixed. My complaint was mold growing on the vent in my bathroom. They came in with a can that I assumed was to kill the bacteria and disinfect the area to get rid of it. However, after looking back at the vent now, it was literally just spray paint. They spray painted over it and didn't even get all of it. There is still mold inside the vent.

The next time, I called maintenance because there was a leak from my ceiling. It was from the vent and a spot through the ceiling where it is now warped above my shower. I put in a request for maintenance, they put it in as an emergency order, supposedly, however maintenance never showed up and when I checked up on it,the order had been closed even though I know for a fact they never came in because one of my roommates would have had to put my dog in her crate and she was never placed in the crate.

Literally the only thing I want to do now is get out of my lease and go somewhere else, but I can't do that without having someone else take over my lease, and after living here for these months, I don't think I'd want anyone to live here in the same conditions I have. I pay close to 400 bucks a month for this? Yeah, I'm not amused. Definitely would not recommend to someone else and do not plan on renewing my lease when I'm finally out of this.

We had a very terrible experience with this company. They moved us into an apartment infested with bed bugs next to USF. They were painted onto the walls. They were everywhere. I was pregnant and not sure why I was getting bumps all over myself at night. It was because a massive infestation of disgusting bed bugs were biting me at night. There were also cockroaches everywhere. Collier was not very helpful in dealing with it. They called someone to come spray, which isn t effective and is quite carcinogenic. To treat the infestation, they wanted us to move all the furniture and belongings out that we had just moved in, at our expense, in 24 hours. That was just the beginning of the terrible experience. Eventually, they kicked everyone out of the entire complex a month after resigning leases to tear the place down. It was well within their rights, but they could ve been more helpful and transparent. Didn t expect it by then. Stay away from Collier Properties.

This company is probably one of the most money hungry companies there is. I used to think Apple was money hungry but nothing compared to The Collier Companies. Year after year they continue to raise their rents for all their apartment complexes while offering less and less to the students. Find somewhere else to live that isn't owned by TCC. You will thank yourself later.

I live in arbor park so I've been here a year now. I loved out here and my kids do too. But I refuse to pay my rent cause its mold in the bathroom told the office manager. They suppose to come treat it. Then try to tell me it the vent that I'm not running when my kids take a shower. My 8 yr old boy have asthma. Then the bathroom sink underneath had mold in it cause it was leaking underneath. Now the wood is so damage that I can't put nothing underneath it. Then my kids window have been broken for over 4 months keep saying they maintenance guy is going to fix it. Then it have fallen out almost on my kids .then tell the office manger that the window is broken still its winter my kids can't sleep in the room cause its cold in there. Then they came and but tape over the broken window. Now I have to call code enforcement and three rivers to fight the eviction. All I want is my stuff to be fix so I can pay my rent have a place to stay. Then when I called to talk to her regional manger they called her and she called me. That's unprofessional.

Negative Stars!!!

Negative Stars!!!
I am extremely irritated with the management of Boardwalk Apartments and Collier Company
One morning I discovered that my new 2015 white car was covered in rusty water from the irrigation spouts that have not been properly maintained by your company. The rust has covered my entire car. I know that the irrigation has not been properly maintained since I was told by the office manager that this is not the first time that a car has been coated in rusty water and that the rust is a known problem and that the rust was the reason they didn t turn the sprinklers on.
After reporting my issue with the front office on Monday evening, I was told that I would be contacted the next day. By the time I got home after work I still had not received a phone call. I went to the office to see if a solution had been reached. I was then told that the irrigation was on when my car was covered in rust and that I could get the outside of my car detailed and bring in the invoice and I would be reimbursed. After that, I spoke to my neighbor, who was a detailer and he told me that it would be an extensive job since the rust was in every crevice.
That same night I received a phone call around 6:30 from Lynette in the office. I was told that I could not go to whomever I wanted to get my car detailed. Instead I had to go to the preferred vender (Keven s Mobile Detailing) and if I chose to go somewhere else, I would only receive $60. I was also told that it is not the responsibility of the complex to fix my car and that they are just offering the detailing as a courtesy.

This company doesn't even deserve 1 star. Filthy and disgusting combined with terrible management all while taking advantage of college students. Nobody in corporate returns a phone call and can't get an email address. The contacts they do give have no decision making authority. Do not rent from any property managed by this company!!! I wish I would have read the reviews before I signed the lease.

I've lived in Arlington square apartments for the past theee years and it has been the happiest of my life!!! Living in the heart of downtown Gainesville, Arlington square provides you access to the culture and nature in Gainesville-- the hippodrome theatre, coffee shops, restaurants, and best bars in town, depot park, Hawthorne trail, and Paynes prairie. Graduate student life is hard and coming home to my apartment was always my favorite part of the day. The high ceiling opened my heart up on days I felt exhausted and overwhelmed. I enjoyed coffeee sitting outside on the balcony and especially loved waking up to meet the morning light streaming through the skylight. One of my favorite things is the amount of natural light that bathes the apartment, the moon and sun fills the space with light at just the best moments. 'Me so grateful to have moved here, it's my best homes in Gainesville! Nettie and Terence are the best people on the office and the entire staff of so readily available and helpful. They get to work fast on anything you want repaired and do so with joy. I love that they create a community environment with movie nights in the courtyard, barbecues, pool day and various other fun events!!!! Thank you Arlington Square!!!!!

I live at Campus Club, and their maintenance team ...

I live at Campus Club, and their maintenance team sucks SO BAD. I got bed bugs from a previous used box spring, and it has been almost 5 days and NOTHING has been fixed. My box spring is out on my patio and I can't even live at my OWN APARTMENT that I am paying rent for. Absolutely disgusting and so unprofessional.

My roommates and I wanted our whole apartment to be sprayed because bed bugs do travel, and the management at Campus Club wanted to charge us extra for that. Are you kidding me? I am going to take my complaint to the Health Department, this is so ridiculous and I won't be surprised if this company shuts down in the next few years.

OH and plus, my dishwasher doesn't work, dryer doesn't work, we can't even dry our clothes, our fridge is leaking which gives off a horrible smell, our stove barely works, and our carpet is coming up and has disgusting stains on it.

The experience likely varies property to property, and there are many properties in Gainesville. However, the staff at Arlington Square was always pleasant. Terence gave a great tour and always resolved issues quickly. The apartment was what I expected and the location was right downtown!

Just moved in a little over a week ago and already...

Just moved in a little over a week ago and already having massive issues. My apartment smelled like mold and wet dog and nothing worked when I moved in. Dishwasher, AC, water pressure, plumbing issues, kitchen mold literally water leaking from the sink and dishwasher in the apartment not to mention the carpet needs to be replaced or at least professionally cleaned. This building is roach infested. There is a hornets nest outside my door. I put in all the maintenance requests and no one seems to care. The AC literally didn't work and they finally got it back on almost a week later. I sat in my apartment with no ac in august and had to keep calling them, over and over again until finally they sent someone from the AC company. Everything in this apartment is super old and Its clear their management strategy is to just blow people off, never renovate or clean the apartments and make tenants bend over backwards to get things fixed. I have called multiple times about my requests. I suspect the ac will fail again as its about 50 years old. The water heater is from 1994. Windows and walls are paper thin. Cabinets and all fixtures and appliances ( dishwasher doesn't work) look like they are from the 80's. lTell me how you think its ok to charge over a thousand dollars for this dump? If youre reading this, just avoid any colier properties in general. Overpriced, and underserved.
This for for college park but I can confirm they are all like this. Pest control guy confirmed colier is basically a scum lord for uniformed college kids.

Hired my husband, he jumped thru all of their hoops and they never called him back. He was officially hired too. Then the furniture provider, Function First aka F3, hired us to set up furniture for Collier Companies wouldn't pay people what they originally posted for on craigslist. Then tricked everyone into going to Tampa for a flat rate of $50 rather than paying the hourly and no one got back before 2am and was expected back on the job by 7am. The hourly would've paid much more. Made me drop my price $200 on another job, promised the check was sent Fed ex and it never was while they Had still promised me it Had been sent. I have all of the emails and texts if interested. Had to threaten an attorney. Many many workers were ripped off. Someone else went in for a job and was told no because they knew me? Go figure lol.

WOW Malia even in emails you lie, you very much know he paid his rent on time REMEMBER Jermaine accepted it even with the note attached. Oh and may I remind you you removed all the lates fees because you dont have trained employees like him. And you retaliated against my son by making false accusations, before accuses someone you should ask them first. Work on doing a better job and hope it makes a difference. This review has been written by the person named for your record. You should work on customer service its sad to see your rating is 1.4 out of 5, and all the complaints on here are very similar!!!! The Crossings at Santa Fe DONT MOVE HERE its a trap they like to hold rent checks and then charge late fee's. They are nice in the beginner because they want your business after that you get treated like trash. The office has a terrible turn around and very dysfunctional. The maintenance staff signs off on repairs and never do them or do a crappy job. The apartments are full of mole, stained ceilings with water spots, rats, roaches and the crimes is bad.

I haven't even moved in yet and feel taken advantage of. I am a patient receiving treatment at SHands. Was looking for a safe homey environment for myself and my caregivers. When we went to look at the 3 bedroom executive suite we were told ours was being cleaned so they wouldn't show us it but we could see the model. Just what I was looking for. So we signed on well do you know the term bait and switch. I know why the won't show me the apartment would have never signed the lease it is a crappy hotel room. Stayed at executive suites all over the country for work. This one doesn't even meet the worst one I was in.

I lived at Arlington Square in downtown Gainesville for two years. The location was amazing, and I found the leasing staff very kind and helpful. The rent price is great given the awesome location, and my GRU bill was usually fairly reasonable as well. I really enjoyed my time here and am sad to be leaving. I chose 4 stars instead of 5 because the complex is run like a business (because it is one), as opposed to having direct communication with a landlord. This never proved to be a serious issue, but certainly worth paying regard to.

I would definitely recommend this complex to anyone looking for a reasonably priced place to live in the heart of downtown Gainesville!

STAY AWAY. This company is awful, unethical, sleaz...

STAY AWAY. This company is awful, unethical, sleazy, corrupt -- choose any negative adjective. My wife, my daughter, and her roommate's family toured the apartments in the summer, and we signed a lease. The rental agent knew that we would be subletting the rooms, and must have noted this in Collier's internal documentation. That's because we were switched to a much-worse apartment than promised, with no living room, no real kitchen, and tiny bedrooms. The subletters complained that the apartment was awful and filled with bugs, but we just assumed the girls would have to engage management to fix the issues. Well, there's no fixing lies and deceit. The girls just got to Gainesville to find "their apartment" was a disaster -- tiny, filthy, roach-infested. An agent shows them the apartment on the floor above, and guess what? It's really nice -- exactly what my family toured and signed up for. Of course, this apartment is $125 more. This "new" apartment's cost is the same as the cost for furnished apartments with WiFi. We will be paying all utilities, including Internet -- and the Collier Companies have my daughter over a barrel. She spent half an hour arguing/complaining, and at the end of it, she has to sign the lease for the more expensive apartment because there are no apartments left in Gainesville, and she has to be moved in this week to start classes on 07-JAN. You have been warned -- this company just takes advantage of inexperienced kids, and it's obvious they count on busy parents not being around to hammer the unethical managers here.

After working for The Collier Companies and College Manor for nearly 2 years I can happily say I love working for this company. I've never had a job I actually look forward to before I started working here. Higher management is understandable, friendly, and really does want to see progression in every employee. I've also lived in the company's properties for 3 years and have no complaints.

I've had the pleasure of being, not only an employee of The Collier Companies but also a resident for almost 3 years now. As a resident, I've appreciated how attentive the service team is and how caring my property Manager Robin is. During holidays, she hosts several events for the children in the neighborhood and even rewards them for great report cards! I love the sense of community! :) -- As an employee, I've always appreciate the amazing company culture we have here. Our owner is not a figment of our imagination, but is kind and so personable and works right in the office alongside us! With competitive pay, amazing health benefits and a veryy generous 401k plan. Definitely a great place to work for young people looking to start a career, and wonderful for those already in housing who are looking to grow with an amazing company. :)

I have been with the Collier Companies going on 12 years now and have lived at a TCC community for 10 of those years. Over the years living at various properties things tend to break or need repair and I feel all of the maintenance staff go above and beyond. The offices try to communicate as best as possible about any community changes or events and try to resolve any issues in a timely fashion. Being an employee has been one of the best choices I've ever made. I have been given the opportunity to work in different departments and in different cities. They really value growth and have great benefits and a 401k package.

i wish i could give this company negative stars, but oh well. i live in Arlington square and let me tell you what... i am moving out early. my a/c has flooded my apartment well about 12x this year. it's literally once a month that this happens. and with water comes mold and it turns out that i am extremely allergic to the high levels of mold in this apartment so much so i start getting hives everywhere. i did a trail run and slept over at someone else's house for a week and no hives, 4 hours back in my apartment hives. we have a new property manager and he thinks that it's a privilege for you to live here and that your apartment should be accessible to anyone at anytime. worst decision ever to move here.

Absolute shame that you guys do not bother to give someine's deposit back after 7/8 weeks of move out. All of you promised that it wil be processed within 2/3 weeks. Now it is two months almost and I still don't have it. I have other stuffs to do than calling the office every other day and listening to "we'll let yo know" and never getting back to me. If you are just there to loot people's hard earned money just say it, I won't bother calling again. My 500+ dollars is gone in a fraud case. SHAMEFUL!

I have been a resident of college park for a year ...

I have been a resident of college park for a year and half. The only real reason why I am still living with them is the LOCATION period. The standard of living is low, the rent is high, and most importantly the maintenance crew's customer satisfaction is terrible. If you need anything fix at all, expect them to do the job terribly the first time, then write the manager a letter telling your problem again, then they will fix it a second time good but not great. Finally be so angry that you will make them do the job perfectly but with a terrible attitude. Also they have many areas of their property with severe liability like wet flooded staircase that is caused by wall air-conditioned units, where a person could slip and fall and hurt themselves severely and I could provide many examples like this one. SERIOUSLY, do yourself a favor only live here if you can afford high rent payments, be ok living low quality standard of living, and love location!!

My wife and I have lived in these apartments for o...

My wife and I have lived in these apartments for over 2 years. Today, I experienced the top of humanity today when speaking to the manager of the complex. My wife and I have been here for a total of 28 months, in the time that we have lived here have never had a late payment, and found out that by an error made in a different department charged are bank account 32 which in turn made the rent bounce. I was speaking with the manager of the complex anoit this issue when she started to interpret and speak over me. As if, my questions had no validity, I would assume as a person in customer service myself in the past if I didn't have the answer as it seems she did not that I would say something like "I'm sorry for the inconvenience, however, I have to wait to hear from someone over that department before I can give you an answer. No instead I got "it doesn't matter if you have a letter from your bank stating that the amount was in there, if this person gets back to me and has prove that it wasn't you will be paying the fees." So once again a drawl your attention to the fact that I have never once received a late fee in the 32 months I have been loving here, and I have prove of that in a form of a print out from the apartment themselves. So I'm in shock and pretty pissed off to be treated like a criminal trying to get over on someon. This lease will not be over soon enough for me to get out of here. But Spanish Trace has done another wonderful helpful thing, and that is a built in 4 months of rent being owed if you want to leave early. So we will have to stick through these issues until we give in and spend the money to get out of this horrible place, or wait another 7 months when our lease is up.

This doesn't meation the other issues that we have dealt with in the last year, drug dealers, parents who never watch their children, dog crap everywhere, the smell of pot while walking into your apartment, 14 ppl living in a 3 bedroom next door, prostitution, and just down right thugs hanging around the complex. These issues have all been reported several times, by multiple ppl in the community, and nothing has been done.

Another resident stopped and asked me yesterday if I had noticed the neighborhood getting bad, I asked what she was talking about she stated "I asked Robin if the were getting more acceptable with applicants, she told me the have to pass a background before moving in, but I can say I don't believe her from the way the neigbhorhood is now.

So this all being said please stay away from Spanish Trace and the Collier Company rent anywhere but through them. After 32 months of perfect payment history I was treated like a dog by the management, and I don't appreciate not giving the benefit of the doubt.

I live at West 10 in Tallahassee and this is by far the worst place to live in town. When you sign your lease they assure you the utility bill will be no more than $50 each month, which is a total lie because now it somehow is $80. The office now denies the fact they said it was no more than $50 and tell you to stop using your AC so it won't be so high. Maintenance is horrible and takes weeks to fix your issues. After our microwave broke it took them about a month and a half to replace it. When you move in, none of the apartments are cleaned and half the furniture is missing. I will for sure not be renewing my lease here.

I actually use to really like Collier Company, but just recently have changed my mind. I have lived at Cobblestone for about 5 years and decided to downsize and relocate. I picked the Polos, haven't even moved in yet and I regret it. I asked if their was any type of discount for people that have been with the Collier Company. NOPE, not even a discount on the leasing fee which is 350.00 plus 1000 deposit. Also apparently they were running a special at the time, but because I didn't know about it or have coupon they would even work with me. Of course they never mentioned it . CRAPPY. I have actually recommended collier for several years. NOT NOW! I really feel that if you choose to continue your business with a company (Collier), but just relocate, you should get some type of discount. Since it is all going to the same pocket!!!! GOOD GOING great CUSTOMER SERVICE.

My daughter rented an apartment at Boardwalk and i...

My daughter rented an apartment at Boardwalk and it has been a real headache for her and for us. The problems all boil down to poor or deferred maintenance, or a lack of funding for maintenance repair work. The maintenance staff all seem competent, professional and polite, but its' clear they are severely understaffed and are not empowered to make their own decisions!

Having run or managed companies myself, I was shocked when the manager told my wife at the 6 weeks-post- move-in mark that she was unaware (and this during the insurance agent inspection visit of our apartment in Bldg. A) that the dishwasher was non-functional, and that we had been promised a new or replacement dishwasher for weeks. It took another week and several calles to get that resolved beyond that point, BUT the ceramic tile flooring in the kitchen is still not fixed, it is still loose, and not only looks really bad, it is a real liability issue, and a slip-fall hazard.

We were told 3 weeks ago when the dishwasher was replaced that management would schedule the Collier Tile guy to come and replace the loose ceramic floor tiles. Yet, once again, as before, nothing has happened. No one called or contacted us and it seems to have fallen, like other maintenance requests, by the wayside. (Of course, pretending that there haven't been no requests in writing about this is farcical, since multiple requests were made both verbally and in writing and the Manager herself saw the problem 3 weeks ago in person during the insurance agent walk-thru!) Only an apology and fixing the problem will suffice now.

So, our chief complaint, like many others, is that maintenance issues are not getting resolved.

This begs these questions:
1) do they actually log the requests and move-in walk-thru lists?
2) Do they use any kind of software or written system to track maintenance requests?
3) Who is following up on them to make sure they get done? and
4) why is Collier pinching pennies, and getting 1 star reviews galore, instead of spending a few bucks to do the proper maintenance on their own properties? (Our apartment would not have passed a City of Gainesville Code inspection. )

At this point, all we want is to have the kitchen floor ceramic tile fixed or replaced, as should have been done on week 1 back in August.

Last but not least, maintenance staff are not trained on the Florida Landlord Tenant Act requirement that tenants must be notified in advance before staff enter a leased apartment. That notice can be as little as 12 hours, but the reason for the notice is so that maintenance staff don't just barge in on your home! This is especially important for tenants who have pets that might get loose, or in some cases, if they have valuables they might want to secure ahead of time. And, really, its just common courtesy. Would you walk right into your neighbor's home to fix their appliance without contacting them first? Of course not, and your tenants deserve that same courtesy.

This is by far the worst place I have ever lived. ...

This is by far the worst place I have ever lived. The complex deserves zero stars.

When I moved in:
The place was never cleaned before I moved in. The roommate I was matched with told me not to use the front burners on the stove. When I asked him why he said "because they catch on fire." He said he called maintenance about it a few times and they said nothing was wrong. I found out the issue was that the people who had been living there had never cleaned the stove before, so the gunk was all catching on fire when you use the front burners.

While living there:
I was plagued constantly by roaches and flies. I can only assume the cause of the pests were either from previous tenants or neighbors since I've never had this problem in the last two places I lived. They offer pest services to come by and put bait out to get rid of the pests, but they made me call every week to get the exterminator to come out. I asked for them to put me on recurring services to just have the exterminator come every week without me calling but they refused. They said they did not want to pay for unneeded services if the problem was fixed and I never called to cancel them, but the problem has never been fixed. I noticed a lot of the roaches running behind the oven, so I decided to pull it out and try to clean behind it since I was sure it had never been cleaned. To put it bluntly, the oven was absolutely infested with roaches. After seeing how many were living in the oven I didn't even try to clean it. I just pulled the whole oven outside and asked management to replace it. Luckily they did replace the oven, otherwise I'd be living without an oven. Not too long ago I noticed a weird smell coming from my Keurig coffee machine, and I noticed a roach run into it. Yep, same thing happened to my coffee machine, which I use every day. I took the bottom off to find that it was absolutely infested with roaches and I have been using it every day. Their only redeeming feature is that when I asked them to replace it, they did without question. It was only after replacing my Keurig that they agreed to have the exterminator come every week, but now I'm about to move out in a month, so too little too late.

I have had about five occurrences of water flooding my apartment. Either from water lines bursting in the walls or the people upstairs flooding their apartment which in turn floods mine. There are several spots in the ceiling where mold is starting to grow and water has damaged the ceiling or drywall.

There is a homeless shelter across the street, so there are always bums walking around out front of the complex. I used to go running early in the morning on the streets around here, but since there are always bums around I've stopped.

The last time I went to the pool we found what looked like an old waterlogged hot dog floating around, and you always feel slimy after getting out of it. The hot tub turned my friend's pants pink.

Half of the equipment is missing/broken at the "fitness center."

My car started squeaking every time I go over their ridiculously large speed bumps. It's a 2010 with 60,000 miles, I baby the car and it never squeaked before I started going over these bumps.

For some reason there are always small children running around down the street from my apartment even though this is supposed to be student housing.

Moving out:
I'm still living here. Yep, this is my last month here before I move out. I am stuck here on July 4th (Independance Day) because my car was towed out of the parking lot of the complex that I live in. The towing company don't care about anyones problems and won't give me my car back, and nobody is here to do anything to get my car back. I should be going somewhere to watch the fireworks and have fun, but no, I'm stuck because of the place I live.

Edit:
It is now July 5th, and they refuse to return my car. They are actually threatening to have me arrested for not leaving the office.

I've lived in Oxford Manor for 5 years. The carpet was not new when I moved in and only got worse and started to fall apart. I talked to the leasing office several times about these issues. The manager told us they only change the carpet every 5-6 years. And when they knew the carpet had already lasted more than 5 years, they still refused to change for us. Instead, the complex kicked us out with a with rude note attached to our front door. I left a comment on Facebook but they blocked me. Recently, they made the online payment not available for us to pay rent, they wouldn't take a check either. So now we have to buy a money order! The management created so many problems for us but solved none of them! My roommates and I are all very upset about this complex.

I moved to Gainesville in 2010 and I have lived in a Collier owned property since 2011. I have had such positive experience between both properties I lived at. Work orders are addressed within 24 to 48 hours, the office does a great job with communicating with me and everyone is so pleasant.

As a previous resident of the The Collier Companie...

As a previous resident of the The Collier Companies, I know nothing is more important than the satisfaction of the residents that live in these communities. The fact that they seek first to understand the issue, then work towards repairing the issue. As not every outcome is always ideal, they truly try to make sure they've taken care of the issue quickly in the best of their capabilities. Each property manager at all 5 different communities could always name on a first name basis and always inquired to be as personable as possible to build a relationship with me. They made me feel like providing me a home I adored was the sole reason they came to work each day. The values above, are the sole reason I chose to come work for The Collier Companies. These values are instilled in each team member and each customers feedback is valued.

Let me start by saying I've had good experiences living in Collier company apartments. However, my time trying to work there was terrible. After passing a drug test, background check, and waiting two weeks for the result to get back to me, Nicole from the HR department contacted me saying that I was ineligible for hire because I did not do the drug test the year before when I applied. I had a good reason for not doing it, which I told her, and she said that she would ask her supervisor and get back to me.

I called her Thursday and Friday of that week and she did not respond. I left a voice message Friday. I had to call her again Monday to get a response and she told me that she already contacted the apartment I applied to and told them to hire someone else. Instead of communicating with me she went and told my hiring manager not to hire me, but she said she would talk to her supervisor about getting another position for me. So I guess I was eligible but she didn't know what to do?

I wish there was better communication within upper management and that the HR person has more help answering tough questions since it appears they need it. I no longer have any desire or time to work for this company, but I do hope the best for you as I have had good experiences living there.

If you are looking to live somewhere in Gainesville, the Collier companies have many good employees that are superb. Getting a job might be tumultuous as it was for me.

So come home to dry my boyfriends uniform, you see he is an officer, called and spoke to Amanda and she sent Shane right out even though it was the end of the day. Shane identified the problem with dryer and ordered the part. We had to wait one night but the next day he was back out promptly to fix the dryer and did an amazing job. Now I can dry my clothes and uniforms again! I love our maintenance team especially Shane, he s the best!

I am a former resident of Highlands at Heathbrook, owned by Collier Companies in Ocala, FL (moved out July of 2017). I was contacted today, 6 months later with a supposed pet cleaning fee that needed to be paid. The lady I spoke with was quick to state that she would report me to a collections agency if it was not paid immediately. It should be noted that I had already paid a non-refundable pet deposit of $350 and a pet rent fee $25/month. I am currently waiting to hear from upper management, in hopes that this fatuous fee will be reversed due to the lack of punctuality in notifying me of the bill.

You are one of thousands of people who are trying ...

You are one of thousands of people who are trying to find a place to call home, but every time an affordable home appears on the marketplace, it's suddenly gone -but don't despair!

Sarcasm aside, I have known too many who have lived in these places (and I SOMEHOW managed to survive living in one myself), and their entire company thrives on the simple principles of absurdly high rent, low maintenance, and only maintain rental properties where the renters have enough income to afford justice.

Everyone else? Sure, go ahead, break the lease because of the "pest issues" or "turf wars" -we'll get your money regardless, and let's see if you can find another place we DON'T own within sixty miles of your workplace? You won't, because between us and the other six equally-price-gouging companies, we have an... Agreement.

Totally legal, of course.

Besides, there's twenty people behind you who will HAPPILY pay what we're asking for it (particularly because they haven't experienced what "living there" is like yet). As if there wasn't enough reasons to avoid Alachua County like a Thunder Flu....

Have no doubt that they will gleefully take your money, and you'll get what they feel like providing. If you don't like having the water (that they charge you for) randomly shut off for six to ten hours a day, tough. That wasn't in the contract. Your only option will forever be "break the lease" and deal with the consequences (however you manage it) on top of everything else.

They have ridiculous amounts of power and wealth from exploiting people way better off than you (and way WAY more people who are worse off), and with the way things are divvied and buttered up in Alachua they will absolutely continue with these practices until the sun burns out, or some other corporation buys them out for a fat profit.

In short, I would sooner recommend you rent an RV and live in that than lease a dollhouse from Collier... Granted, if you work in or near Alachua County, you may not have the luxury of choice. That being the case: REALLY read that contract, make CERTAIN that your basic and fundamental expectations for the rental are actually considered -AND that you shouldn't have to accommodate a CONSTANT stream of "reasonable expectations" like...

Totally for examples-that-happened: a roof needing replacement work every other month for three weeks at a time, plumbing that requires meth-tweaking creeps to have access and randomly be in-and-out of your home while you're gone (but your daughter is home), repair-work only half completed -then you're charged by the landlord for "damaged appliances and leaving trash/debris in common areas."

You know, literally every single thing you would normally and reasonably expect from a business arrangement?

Don't.

They will laugh all the way to the bank when the psychonauts they contracted (via nepotistic hiring practices) bail, and they figure out they can simply recouperate the lost funds via the renters ill-considered trust.

Please. Do yourself a favor and give this trash-iness a "hard pass" -and if you can? Maybe do everyone else a favor, and devise a means to permanently pluck this bloated tick out of the necks of hard-working people. Life is friggin' difficult enough as it is without predatorial renters setting up (an even bigger) shop in yet another area of people's lives.

I've lived at the crossing at Santa Fe for only a year and its been terrible! management was slick and didn't care! I specifically said not to room with with a specific person and they refused! they kept insisting in bringing a drug dealer into the apartment. Then when i called head quarters multiple times , the receptionist understood everything, but later that night i got a call giving me two options, either i find a collier company to switch to for immediate move in or they terminate my lease and i would have to leave before the new roommate moved in( i had renewed months in advance). afterwards they charged me for the utility bill for the entire month when i was told to leave before the 9th. I Do NOT Recommend it !!

Arlington Square represents the best of The Collie...

Arlington Square represents the best of The Collier Companies. I moved into Arlington Square in August 2017 and overall it s been a great choice for me. I wanted to shed some light about my own experience as a resident.

I ve had my fair share of Gainesville housing options. When I moved here, it was important to me that I live in a place I could potentially see myself for a few years. I ultimately toured Arlington Square because of the glowing reviews and thankful I signed because the management here is on point. I ve never had an issue with management here. They are respectful, helpful and are willing to listen to residents.

The property is always well maintained, but I honestly feel like the price residents pay is mainly because of the downtown location. The units could definitely be more updated for your residents. Only select units have updated amenities, whereas promotional materials imply these upgrades are standard. This is the only concern that I ve expressed to management at Arlington. I was told they are working on updating all units and I would like this to become a reality because everyone deserves to have top amenities and feel great about where they are living. More effort can be put into ensuring that all residents are having the same experience wherever they sign. I d also love for Collier to allow more feedback from residents about what we need, especially for loyal residents.

Submitted a rent payment (26th)5 days early, even got a confirmation email. , whatever bank Collier uses, held onto it for 4 days, and decided to process it the day before rent was even due?(30th)
Because of this, the payment bounced and now they're refusing to waive the $50 fee, even though all they have to do is ask the bank that's charging them to waive it.
Spoke to my bank, not their fault, spoke to rent cafe, not theirs, it's Colliers. Now I'm stuck with the fee.

They don't give a damn about their residents, and they're always too busy to help. Hire more people!! The company is worth 2.3 BILLION. But they're so greedy, a $50 fee is to much trouble for them to resolve.

And don't even get me started on room mate matching, move in conditions, furniture, appliances, pests, and maintenance "requests". Believe every review you read here, they're all true.

I wish I had done the research and stayed away, it's not worth the lower prices or bullshit amenities.

We have been here at Greenwich Green for 4 years! Every year our rent goes up and the quality goes down. It takes them forever to fix things and they half ass it. We have the town house unit so there is no patio for storage, they left a note saying our tiny grill could not be outside by our front door. Also if we renue our lease this year we wont get the water included as it was in the past and rent still will go up. This place is so crappy charging so much for nothing! On your back about your living space but cant get one thing fixed in a timely manor! Worst 4 years ever!!!

What is wrong with some people today? Went to several properties with your company. Most were very receptive to us and welcomed us with golden trays so to speak...Very cordial and truly showed compassion and wanted to make sure we were very well taken care of...

With that said:

One property which stands out to us was Bivens Cove....,. The place was superb as far as location from bus stop as well as distance from college. There were 3 women in office when we came in. First one we spoke to was a black woman. Very nice.... made sure we understood everything. 2nd was a much older woman we met. Guess she is property manager. She could come to our apartment any time she was so special......

Then we had to deal with this blonde woman. I hope I really don't have to see her often. I am sorry but she treats people fake....,,. The other women know we who come in to rent a place are the ones who keep them their positions. The blonde wish I could remember all their names..... any ways the blonde is worse then Kathy Bates in Misery. She is rude and obnoxious. Look at her she is Barbie all grown up...... Sorry she is the reason we did not get a place at Bivens Cove... Got one at Crossroads. Thanks Crossroads you did a great job....

Not only was I a resident for the company twice and did not have the best experience ever particularly with the ones in charge of billing and not having any issues corrected after paying dues ON TIME, and under legal obligation in the time I lived in Gainesville, FL, I was also an employee.

I walked out on the complex I worked for within a month after complete lack of training, and rudeness from management when I needed thorough training to understand how everything worked, and was practically called an idiot by the assistant manager. I walked out a day before I had to run the office alone, and I DO NOT regret that move, especially since this was only my second job, and I had Job security. (I can't remember the name of the complex)

For the most part, the residential areas are nice, well maintained, and the Leasing Agents are generally friendly, and quickly responsive. It seemed as if the actual "issues" I experienced came from those with a "controlling position." My rating is solely based on the issues I had with the ones in control of residential finances, and how I was treated as an employee.(This does not apply to all management)

I hope all new employees have had better luck, and future employees will have better luck as well.

I am currently living in seminole grand in Tallahassee under their management and had a very unpleasant experience with the service there. My roommates and I are currently having flea issues. My roommates' legs were bitten by fleas all over. We submitted the work order for flea control several times but never got the service. The manager in seminole grand does not help at all. The person in seminole grand really has a bad attitude to us. They always say that is not their fault, blablabla, to avoid responsibility. Hope this review may alert people in collier company to help us with the problem. I would never use this to solve the problem if I have another choice!

There was a new dishwasher installed in our apartment in January that we did not request. Someone gave them the wrong address and they came into our apartment while we were not here and trashed the area in our closet near the water valve. Nathaniel Irizarry did a great job installing the dishwasher, but threw everything out of our closet and busted down the door leading to the water valve. Not only did he break the door, but he actually broke off the top of the door frame. I can understand the frustration of us not having everything out of the way in the closet (we didn't know anyone was coming because we didn't order anything!), but there was no indication from him that he broke the door and was taking responsibility for it. Very disappointed with this company and will be letting our apartment office know of the damages.

Rent is always going up every year! they do not have anywhere affordable or the same quality of apartments for student families. You either have to rent the whole apartment which is a mortgage in itself. Or you need to find another place which is impossible to find in Gainesville especially for me at that time. Full time UF student, student paycheck, single mom and needed to be on a bus route. I felt like everything was all about the money. And my recent experience I was told by the receptionist that I could not speak to the regional manager unless I came in person. I can't find a phone number or email, I just have to take time off from work to wait to be seen by an anonymous regional manager. That in my opinion is not personable and in the future I will redirect anyone who's looking for an apartment to the local realty agencies. Just my opinion.

I can't even get an answer to a simple question ab...

I can't even get an answer to a simple question about fees/cost. Really? The story gets even worse. So, I decided to renew simply based on the cost of moving. Big mistake! I beginning to think the manager at the property I rent from has some sort of communication problem. I have discovered that they entered an incorrect date on the first renewal I did and when I pointed out their error they just ignored it. Since Florida is a contract state, it appears I am now leasing on a month to month basis as the original lease expired and there was a gap of over one month before the effective date of the "renewal"". When I decided to stay for 9 months so that I can get things in order to buy a house, the new renewal they sent was also incorrect. When I pointed this out their response is "We tried to call you to talk about this...." Oh heck no! Put it in writing! Not going there with these people! That is their MO, to act like "Oh, we are trying to help you but you are uncooperative..." Sleazy. Trust me, you can buy a house using bond programs and the USDA loans for way less per month than these people are charging. Totally fed up with the skanky rental practices in Gainesville. Just for the record: I am a tenant who takes good care of my unit, follows the rules, and ALWAYS pays my rent on time.

I ve been living in one of the Collier company apartment for almost 2 years now and ive been treated horrible and received bad service countless times. The recently issue that I have with my apartment complex is that there isn t no parking near my building, so therefore I have to park my car far. Just the other day I walked to my car to find out that it wasn t in the same place that I had parked it the night before. I thought my car was stolen, then I looked around the parking lot to find out it was moved due to the repainting of the pavement on the building that I had to park at (which wasn t where I live so I wasn t informed). When I got in my car my Brake light was on so therefore someone must had gotten in my car. That was EXTREMELY UNPROFESSIONAL TO MOVE MY CAR WITHOUT MY CONSENT. I also have a parking decal so they didn t have any business touching it. THEY COULD HAD RAN MY PLATE AND CALLED MY PHONE OR KNOCKED ON MY APARTMENT DOOR AND TOLD ME TO MOVE IT. I ve called the office to speak to the property manger about the situation she refuses to speak to me about the situation and refuses to call me back. I was informed that she leaves her office at 5:30 and I was in the waiting area since 5 and kept getting the run around. They would say she out for the day, then they would say she in the middle of something or she speaking to the regional manger. After waiting in the office since 5 she finally came out the office at 5:50 ( but I thought she left for the day ) ?!? So therefore she wasn t going to call me and no one informed me that she was even in the building the entire time. When speaking to her she was extremely RUDE and rised her voice while speaking. I was the treating wrongly, they should be offering me an incentive for the rude behavior, the unfair treatment and not asking me what I want.
